granite gargoyles in Greg’s garden
happily high-fived handshake that hardened
Introducing indigenous iris to Illinois
jubilantly jiggling their midwestern joy
kings of the garden we are, said the giant gargoyle
laughing and loving their role, they spit into the soil
most of the fey rolled their eyes at the two
nay said a petunia troll, unsure what he could do
outstandingly confident said a faerie named Lee
platinum pharaohs added a dainty sweet pea
quivering with happiness, the granite gargoyles yelled out a hey!
restoring the rest of the produce, ensuring its safety that day.

lively little lovely lithe lambs
merrily milling around Marty’s Milwaukee
nibbling nutty Nabisco nuggets
outstandingly joyful and childlike
prancing prettily like playful petite ponies

Premium Memberhow to make me love you

Outguess me, outfox me, outstandingly simple to do
Wrap me in a cloud cloak with a dash of rainbow too
Like me and uplift me, so I can love you.

Be all end all

Before I begin writing down my
Bizarre thoughts in a poetic form
Beware, you have been forewarned.
Baffling blend that defies categorization
Bedazzled, you’ll be, I am sure
Baleful and quite a bit, say, unsettling;
Besides all that, you’ll be surprised,
Breathtaking will be your experience
Beautiful even and at times, oh, I say
Brilliant, for I write outstandingly.
Bashful I certainly am not, you see
Babbling drunk but speaking the truth
Backpedaling is simply not my trait,
But you will enjoy whatever I write—
Bewitching, bold and beyond compare.

Premium MemberOutcomers who Refuse Innoculations

Outbreak of tuberculosis
Out and out ridiculousness
Outcomers who refuse inoculations
Outgrowth of a new pandemic
Outlandish selfishness and self-importance
Outrageous and intolerable
Outside of common sense
Outstandingly self-absorbed and neglectful

Auctioneers have quite a simple job
They must make wares sound outstandingly wonderful
In 1816 a really great one sold Sir Issac Newton’s tooth
For a marvelously crazy price –
Three thousand seven hundred and eighty five dollars.
The nobleman who bought it had it put into a ring.
His wife left him.

lacksidasical larry leaps lovingly through the air
making mincemeat marauders truly want to care
nine nefarious nigglebuns are trying not to stare
outrageously outstandingly outrunning marathon mare

providing pristine plots to princely priestly pree
quizzing quality quails wondering why I am free
resident ruffians reaching residual responsibility
stressing strenuous starlight studies under thee

tricky trustworthy triple treats tripping up and down the bay
understanding understudy underlings trying to have their say
visualizing various viillains we often meet along the way
‘xoecting ‘xact ‘xasperating ‘xersizes to save the day
zany zigzagging zealots zipping into the fray

Premium MemberThe Beauty of Time

                        A beautifying ugliness is
                               a majestic great beauty.
                                  Timeless beauty is always
                             beautifying beauty outstandingly.
                            Sometimes pure beauty is
                               a source of timeless beauty.
                               Sometimes a stunning beauty
                                          is a timeless joy.

Among the Lilies

She stood by the waters
Draining blood to hungry mosquitoes
And she wept...
For her beauty had been swept away
Swept by the marauding monsters who
Called her a sausage for hounds.

By these waters...
She saw men drag her
Away to snatch her innocence
And she came back altered
Far beyond recognition.

And a Lily stood outstandingly
To remind her there was still light
No need to despair
Bulls are still there
But who knows,
Maybe a call for a night may also deprive her
From her patch if affection.

Maybe her only solace...
Is to return
To the river
To smell the lilies.

Premium MemberViolet the Dresser Who Was Bullied

She’s shabby chic, a bedroom chair said at the recycled furniture fair.
They were speaking of Violet, and it hurt her feelings.
“You mean shabby all over!” a mirror said to a chandelier.
The tent shook with all of their laughter; Violet felt ashamed.

Someone purchased her and stripped her paints off.
She felt naked and vulnerable; even though she was alone.
Don’t worry, the designer told her. You are going to be beautiful.
She trusted Crystin, the designer; she was talkative and fun.

Crystin worked on Violet for over eight months.
At the end, she was incredibly beautiful; outstandingly gorgeous.
Violet could not look in the mirror; she felt it was too vain.
Because she kept saying “you’re gorgeous!” every time.

At the next fair, Violet was sold to another designer for two thousand.
The mirror and the chandelier were irritated; they had not been sold.
Violet decided to not make fun of them or hurt their feelings though.
Because she was too beautiful to be shabby in any way.

What I'M Doing In Polluted Eastern Cape

I
Newtown, South Africa, may inspire some day
Through this time here, I must turn senses away
From adults sending kids to buy "loose smokes"
And even ears from women cussing moms, sex jokes!

II
For inspiration, I must remember to look up also
Clouds always yield forms, names, games galore
And away from plastics, pollution ... naturally
Trash trucks come each Wednesday; ignored outstandingly

III
To each clump of Acacia; hail beaten patch of cacti;
Sole tree that comorants dry their wings on, daily
And note how Nature, Life, does not quit ... growing
As we must: quiet lotuses in fens with slime ... flowing

Premium MemberThe Outstanding Story

Standing out in a field of outstanding corn
Swish found herself standing in line for the outhouse,
which was located way out in the back forty.
It actually stood in the middle of a corn row crop circle
Also in the line for the loo was an alien who was outstandingly blue.
Swish was too shy to engage him in conversation,
Wishing his far-out-ness would leave in a spaceship
He thought Swish's shyness was outstandingly endearing however
And decided to stay until she decided to speak to him.
Not realizing her shyness was not the only thing standing in the way
Her thinking was not far out, so she had closed her mind to him.
An outstanding story to tell their grandchildren, but alas, he left
in his rocket ship before she could warm up to him.
She was standing in the middle of the crop circle,
Denying it had happened, not realizing she had missed a soulmate.

Premium MemberOpportunity Is a Gift

Opportunity presents itself as a gift
and may appear as a messenger-
perhaps, "knocking" on your door.
Sometimes, it is a hope that
this possibility emerges, and we wait
patiently for this special courier to
knock, but it never does.

However, hope is not enough when
wishing for an opportunity to knock.
A fine prospect that appears by itself
is a rare option indeed, and a
fickle one- only knocking randomly.

A good opportunity is consistently
   attracted to outstandingly painted
doors- those showing that the true
potential of the receiver behind it,
is ready to embrace it and use it well.

Build that door- make it strong;
stand behind it, ready and worthy-
and opportunity will surely knock.
