I do not sing any of the new songs. But I can sing Let the Little Girl Dance.
Teen angel, I’m sorry, It’s now or never, everybody’s somebody’s fool.
Alley-oop, itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini and chain gang.
Poetry in motion, Georgia on my Mind, Little Ole Lady from Pasadena.
My foot is tapping in my car as I drive to I am Woman, Let it Be,
Ain’t no Mountain high enough, Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves!
We’ve Only Just Begun, Call me, Raindrops Keep Fall’n On my Head
Yesterday I noticed I was driving 98 miles per hours to the 70’s songs.

Dreams run wild
Can reach outside your home
Your view and your heart
Anything outside your home
May be full of expectations
And possibilities
Anything not in view
May be full of hopes
Anything outside your heart
May be more heartening
So you travel with your dreams
And your knapsack on your back
One day you may be back home
With extra happiness
Or with extra sadness
Of course no more dreams
You're back home once more
Once more you're your own self
Dreams abroad are always
For the young guys
But a home is always a dream land
For the oldies
Ruling out the old folks home
You will gradually understand
So, please hurry back home love
"They" miss you so

Many people pamper their pets
Love them so much
Treat them as small children
A dog with a diaper on
For cleanliness
A dog with a mask on
For hygiene
A dog with clothes on
For tidiness
A dog with dog foods
For nutrition
A dog goes to veterinary
A specialist
To pets they pay a lot of attentions
Maybe they deserve
How about their own children
And the oldies
Don't they deserve more
Sometimes children are left to the nurseries
Sometimes oldies are left in the old folks home
And their pets are always with them
Always being attended to
I'm lost
Does God says anything
About this discrimination
I wonder

You're so varicose vein,
Youth is gone again,
I suppose I'm still lucky,
I found my glasses, you see,
That's as good as it gets today,
Let's hear it for oldies, yah!

The mellow sounds
of Lawrence Welk
are gone,
Guy Lombardo, too.
I remember when
Johnny Mercer
wrote the hits
and Dinah Shore
sang them true.
Do these names
mean nothing
to you…perhaps
The Beatles are
your cup of tea?
Then think, my friend,
and be not dismayed
for you are nearly
as old as me!

Wandering around the earth saying you love me? What do you know of love..,
If I thought you knew anything of love I would've stayed..
yes, there beside you in that little house, in that little bed.
Not just locked away inside that thick head.
(I can't tell her she is only a figment)
Well., easy enough to talk to a shadow, you cast one too. Change the radio station to your oldies, but don't see me, don't even listen.
Remember that day you walked me to my Psych 101 class?
You didn't even try, you didn't reach for my hand, and now I don't care.
(I can't tell her she is only a figment)
There are codes in all of life, I built mine around them. To get past my past, trying to tell you it. I was in mortal combat with depression. You never knew how dark those days could get. Always smiling; handing me a crummy flower. You never had any codes, no morals, only music. Yet you dare to think you love me.
(I can't bear to tell her she is only a figment)
If I thought you knew anything of love I would've stayed.
Yes, there beside you in that little house, in that little bed.
Not just locked away inside that thick head.

Dimes drop, records begin to drop
Rhythm to stroll, jivin’ to hip hop
Slow to jitterbug, boogaloo to rock
Twistin’ Chubby and rock around the clock
The Platters sing, you hold her close
Eye to eye, love’s first dose
Beach Boys up next, time to surf
Steppin’ on toes, unmarked turf.
Malted shakes, pie a-la-mode
Checker board floors, tempo has slowed
Roadsters lined up, sweethearts in style
Stompin’ to the beat, no one’s idle
Jail house rock and shake rattle and roll
At the hop, then on to the stroll
Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry’s pickin’
Mack the knife rocks, Rock-in Robin kickin’
‘Ramblin Rose’, and ‘Good golly Miss Moly’
Dion’s ‘Run around Sue’, turn around now with Buddy Holly
Step in to ‘Shimmy shimmy Ko Ko Pop’
More dimes roll, keep rockin’ till you drop

The oldies blog
I know of a writer/poet who has dedicated
His blog to old age, being considerably older
then him, I think he is on the wrong track.
To write about a poet who couldn`t find his
Specs, his wife saw them in the freezer beside
The ice-cream is chuckling, but overall people
Don`t want to know about infirmity.
To write down what happens to an old person
On an everyday basis is not what young
Readers care about, say farting and trouble
With peeing, they want to hear about love and
The falling of love and the heartache it brings.
To see the object of desire talking to other men
The jealousy that gnaws holes in their heart
Old men should sit on a park bench, play cards,
Domino which is suitable for them but leaves
The rest to the young poetry belongs to them-

like the refrain
of an old half forgotten song
you play in my mind
over and over
and I hum along
no longer remembering words
but sing-a-long feelings
keep me in tune
you were a hit
top of my charts
and yet
new songs have come
new tunes are sung
new words blaze
and yet
in that haze
of half forgotten things
I still hear
I still yearn
and then I smile
for a while
knowing
as you do too!
oldies are goldies
Now, isn't that the truth!

Speak Softly Of Love
Speak softly of love so no one sees our love lost eyes
But you and the stars glowing in the billowing skies
Slowly you suckled into my heart like fluttering butterflies
My love floated with you over boughs and mountains
Crystallising our love lorn moments in mystifying eyes
Speak softly of love so no one sees our love lost eyes
But your heart wrapped in mine as it sanguinely lies
Your petalled lips and beating heart sang intoxicating lullabies
You caressed my heavy head on your beating heart with soft love cries
Speak softly of love once more for stars and skies before our night dies

Remember the star I named after you
The one that hung right next to the moon
It was as mysterious as an ancient rune
Casting its spell as through the heavens it flew
Now that star is but a distant gleam
Flickering in the shadow of a passing cloud
But your smile still colors all my dreams
For love slumbers not, it still shines proud
When the moon is full on a breezy summer night
And a wistful melody travels on for miles
I will look upon your star still shining bright
But it pales in comparison to the shadow of your smile
And when the winter comes with caress of gentle snow
Your smile will linger even if we're apart
And when we embrace in passion's tender glow
"Speak softly love and hold me warm against your heart"
