A Gift From Germany
Our Christmas traditions ...
They came across the sea,
From the old, old towns
In the heart of Germany
Sugar and spice - filled
Were the gingerbread men,
Cut by hand ... carefully
As was the tradition then
A wooden nutcracker guards
In a frosted windowpane,
To keep away evil spirits ...
Out wandering down your lane
And, the advent calendar
Which hung on the

there's a bloke bringing in a six-pack of beer to watch the nutcracker
he sits in front of us with his family
nice touch but then it is evident from
his long pig face
that there; has been some foul play
the sweet woman welcomes us before
proceedings with a monologue of length
i stare at the seat in front of me
cake wasted and my wife brings a Coca Cola
the bloke

Born To Dance
Born wearing ballet shoes
without knowing,
far in the deep nature,
in the Sakhalin Islands,
a ballet star opened his eyes
for the first time.
Warmed by the love of his
family, he grew up happy
until his life changed.
He travelled without ballet shoes to Riga,
where he saw a new beginning,
still warmed by his mum.
A beautiful blond seven year old

I Want To Be a Nutcracker
"I want to be a nutcracker!"
Came my announcement one day.
I won't need the strength of a linebacker
to make my chosen profession pay.
"I want to be a nutcracker!"
Grasping them tight like in a vise.
Even the big ones, I'd call a 'wacker.'
I might have to squeeze those twice.
"I want to be a nutcracker!"
Those that are ripe enough

I Want To Be a Nutcracker
When I grow up I want to be a nutcracker my son said.
I thought he meant ballerina, was he right in the head?
It’s not because he’s a male but he simply can’t dance.
As his mother I hoped that someone would give him a chance.
I will hire him said grandma, all of my older squirrel friends

The Nutcracker
Too big to Crack this nut.
Too big to Crack a nut.
But leave it up to imagination.
Cosmo Star Beings and superstition.
Producing a morning prayer rumpelstiltskin.
Nut Cracked Her and sometimes you feel like
a nut, sometimes you don't.
Old rotten owl rumpelstiltskin.
Odd and rotten in the days of the nutcracker.

The Nutcracker---Sweet
THE NUTCRACKER…SWEET
In my 69 years I had never seen the Nutcracker Suite…never experienced the ballet….never heard Tchaikovsky’s entire score…that is…until yesterday.
As I sat captivated by the music…by the dancing and the fact there were no words to any song…I had to wonder to myself…what in heaven’s name has taken me so long!
I watched the performance

Playful Nutcracker Stockings
The nutcracker stockings could not resist the urge to play
They sat silent without moving the entire long day
But at night when the lights went out,
They began to whirl twirl, twist and shout
We are the nutsies, the mighty mighty nutcrackers!
These silly humans are crazy, completely polly-wackers!
The humans heard, and two ran down the stairs.
But the stockings

In the Chasm of the Nutcracker
In the chasm of the Nutcracker
Shadows of urgency implode upon the stage
Dancers are cloaked by ominous fog
Mist oozing from the pleats and corners of nothingness
In the chasm of the Nutcracker
One lone pure one ballets across in magic slippers
The lightest of foot, contrasting with the rest
They are competing but she is the one you watch

Classical Music Tchaisky's the Nutcracker
The time of year I will listen
To a classic music by Tchaisky
I enjoy the music of the Nutcracker
My eyes closed feeling the music
Feeling the flow of the tune
This music makes me feel
Like I am dancing across
the room
With my dance partner
The Nutcracker
In a ballet dance theme
Of the Nutcracker

It's Christmas
snowing tonight ~ whispering, luminescent, dazzling,
air misty ~ wind calm, serene,
sights outside blurred, indistinct through the hazy window-panes,
rooftops getting blanketed with white laces ~
a picturesque winter wonderland,
treetops embellished with silver ornaments,
grasses caressed by soft touches of snow,
my heart is with you, craving for the profound tenderness of your company ~
It’s Christmas! Wish you

Nutcracker Suite 2020
Christmas was nearing.....and yet..
These arrogant governors must be eating ,shrooms!
"We have locked the churches and schools
Now chimneys must be locked down soon!"
Their greasy hair gleamed under TV lights,
(I hated this dudes,real goons!)
" We cannot take chances with this obese, Santa Clause,.
After all,His Holiess Fauci, the CDC and the revered WHO
Stated clearly,
Santa is most assuredly a

Dreams of the Nutcracker
Dreams of the Nutcracker
When I am older,
I will sweep you off your feet.
I will take you from here,
2 a land far away.
Birds will sing,
and no one “unkind”
will be allowed.
There will be
pretty colored flowers,
everywhere,
there will be fish,
in the pond.
When I am older,
I will be a fireman,

Does Any Adult Slightly Wonder
The puffy, stomach-fattened mouse is closing in on the ballerina.
They do a pirouette around the stage, and the crowd goes wild,
But silently. This is an auditorium, and we are taught obedience
By the mere reverent attitude of Nutcrackers past.
But do the children go silently wild?
Or are they now ripe for a good nightmare?
Are
