The Good Heart
My hunch is probably everyone thinks they have a good heart
Since we are all humans with some degree of empathy.
But while it’s empathy that makes us feel good helping others
It's also empathy that leads us to lynch them.
And it’s shown that when push comes to shove
Nine out of ten of your good-hearted neighbors
Will lynch you if you threaten their peace and security
And end up on their sh*t list.
So there is the paradox of being human,
That even the good habitually do bad
And even if we are in agreement
That we are good or share good intentions
(say, to benefit and avoid harming others)
Then what we each choose to do
In the cause of the good
Will often be different
Even drastically so.
This paradox is what divides nations,
Families, political parties and religions.
It is what divides us within us,
What gives us doubt and confusion,
And ultimately makes us
The humans we are.
But that one out of ten
Who doesn’t join the lynching,
Now, that’s the human we should aspire
To become.

Filled with exciting new things to do
Like shopping and spending piles of dough
I'm sure it applies to you
It's the way of the world, it's how it works
No one said it would be easy
Just look up yonder at that fiery red ball
Today will be bright and breezy
All is copacetic, everything's seems fine
Copacetic as it's meant to be
Have I ever lied to you before my friends
My trustfulness is guaranteed
Okay, not every day will be a winner
But nine out of ten ain't bad
Smile at the world, it will surely smile back

HOWLING DRAGONS
PATROLLED THE SKIES.
IN SEARCH OF BEINGS
WHO RECENTLY DIED.
A BLINDING LIGHT
BEAMED UPON.
ONE MINUTE THEIR THERE
THE NEXT MINUTE GONE.
UNGODLY STENCH
OF ROTTING FLESH.
FILLED THE SKIES,
EVEN ONES BREATH.
LIVING IN DARKNESS
ELECTRICITY'S GONE.
ONE THING FOR SURE
IS THAT EVERYTHING'S WRONG.
CURRENCIES WORTHLESS
THEY BARTER OR TRADE.
THAT IS HOW,
THEIR MEALS ARE MADE.
VEGGIES AND SPICES,
EXTREMELY RARE.
YET NINE OUT OF TEN,
PEOPLE DON'T CARE.
PEOPLE ARE DESPERATE
AND LIFE IS IN DIRE.
PROTESTERS RUN,
THROUGH THE STREETS WHILE ON FIRE.
THE NEW WORLD GOVERNMENT
VACCINED THEM ALL.
I STAND HERE HELPLESS
WATCHING THEM FALL.
VOMIT AND BILE
COVER THE STREETS.
HOMELESS AND CHILDREN
WITH NO SHOES ON THERE FEET.
RANTING AND RAVING
THEY'RE LOSING THEIR MINDS.
ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT
AND ALL OF THE TIME.
THIS IS GROUND ZERO.
THE END OF THE LINE.
FOR ONE AND ALL,
JUST A MATTER OF TIME.
CONDITIONED FOOLS
THEY WERE LED TO BELIEVE.

Life's a challenge at the best of times
Winning 9 out of 10 is a damn good sign
Life can be hard
Keep up your guard
You'll get through, let happiness shine

A snake in the grass is a nasty old soul
Their modus operandi means a meal is their goal
Not all snakes
A meal to make
But nine out of ten will swallow your ass whole
Try to be most perfect every single day
Sometimes slip and must keep the nasties at bay
But nine out of ten
I rebound and then
Back to Mr.Wonderful, and the sex games we play
Be kind to yourself and you will be kind to others
Everyone has flaws, being yourself is what makes you perfect
If you learn to live in the moment the past won't rob your future
Now is the very best time to live in the moment
Give more then you take and you will always have enough
Honour those special people in your life who truly love you
Understanding them only happens when you take time to listen
Memorable moments are formed when we come together
Anyone who laughs and smiles will be surrounded by friends
Nine out of ten times difficulties can be overcome with humour

On the score and sixth day of the eleventh month,
the neighboring country's diabolical terrorists did hunt
Over a hundred people in Mumbai
But thankfully nine out of ten of them did die
A Black Wednesday one could say
But only if it had lasted a day
For 120 hours the police and commandos did fight
In the end, though, they did prevail
Over the ones who assailed
Hats off to those who did die
To keep some others alive
To keep the city safe and secure
To face a terrorist threat no more.
