Nascency Poems

The Aire

Leo’s brush conveyed more light than verse
Beholding beauty's movement in the soul
Ahhh... but adding melody provides the turn
That living on the page a word can't know
Ephemeral, this flight of fancy, sure
Which airy essence flies past thought alone

That flight soars brighter than is ours to grasp
It shadows us in shades of reverie
These heights of sensuality can't last
But lest we think that they weren’t meant to be
Though Icarus would soar and also fall
Daedelus would soar and still fly free

If blest for just a moment with his eye
I’m sure that I could paint an aire complete
That brush’d upon the palate of your ear
Yields color that your mind would savor sweet
The air beneath the wing I hold so dear
Has echoed but the voice of nascency

clutch them …

nourish them …
draw all to your being with
a lover’s hunger
the cosmos bears suns, innumerable
each a rarity of scintillation
unlike any other -
a macrocosm of nascency and
divine chaos
in a measure to rival every
pinch of dust that ever whirled
upon a whisper…
like the ache of fidelity,
each has its own bountiful awe
and who can know what
wonders lay in wait beyond the gleam?
they are not stars
they do not churn with fusion
nor do they bedazzle the heavens,
but they are just as precious -
despite the size or weave or breadth …
so treat them with
deference, regard and quiet consideration
for the big things are the little things
and the biggest of
all the small …

are moments.

Premium MemberThe Sin of Sloth

when we fall prey to complacency

and comfortably wallow in abject sloth,

we suffocate motivation in its nascency.

eschew apathy and inactivity; rise above both!

Meadowlark's Shadows

Mesmerized clarity
builds to crescendo
never more hollow than these

Colors the forefront
blanket expressions
narrowly missing disease

Outlying chambers
kaleidoscope distance
maneuvering playfully lost

The bearded man crumbles
along the great coast
nascency carelessly tossed

One can but ponder
diligent details
tragic circumference of light

The searing is scored
malevolent mischief
never abandoning flight

Belligerence echoes
along the dark pathway
silently centering in

The mindless enigma
deception of thunder
the meadowlark's shadows begin

Nearly everyday, the
     nascency of new lives
         never fails to inspire;
Nature's numinous blush
     narrates an old story -
Nightingale or nacre,
     noble designs of God.

Where Have They Gone

Where has it gone?
It's not inside my head.
It is now a ways away
Where sunshine stays and there's
n'er a fear
A place I made inside my head
A place that in its nascency my
mind just had to steal
Eloped did they, those self-enslaved
mind and grand idea
And now I have my mind not
Nor my grand idea
They have runaway

                    canopy ablaze
crown fires danced on forest floors

By Ne'Er a Hurt Renders

The friend who gonna while sheer
In friendly, airy blast always . . .
          The soul around . . .
Who ne’er mind —by renders a hurt

The old cougar, restful in bench by
          In stares much bit
Of enjoying up nicely day by day
          With the sun illume
With the windy hit passive his skin
          When stars-oh-moon light
          Once hold tho shadow heaven
          In casting by thrilling

          His whistler galloping
In fulling island ground soul, melody
          In adding-lib —
          In forgiving of resentful
          Uncool off liaison

The cougar as look tensity my vicinity
By was, — who had been gone . . .
          And inquired one nascency rose
          On souls is mind —
Who will be next? O friend scathe-less
Airy blast always at others —
Who spring by, a proudly around?
