Social Media Mixtape

can I ask for just a moment
don't want to take up much of your time
you asked how I was doing
I lied and said I'm fine.
thoughts have taken me outside of myspace.
into my Facebook, tick tok banned and erased.
 ig stories tend to be staged
 then Twitter went an X'd itself out of the page.
I open YouTube music begin floating on icloud.
Google drive my way with passion.
Pandora cruising windows down.
vibe check with a mixtape wins my heart 10 toes down.

troubled times

If troubles passed as quick as time;
rather would we have a few;
every thought came out as rhyme,
there'd be little to do.....

Imagine if just for a moment ,
and it that time it took;
you could change direction,
and rewrite your whole book ....

you could never look back at the past ,
nor wish to ever change it;
because it would have been cast,
it'd be just us that'd known it.....

No news , or hyped up media;
do you remember from the past,
we sat all as a family ,
to watch the local cast .....

Myspace was a beginning,
I thought I was to be ,
 a bright and burning star ;
the whole world there to see.....

The internet has evolved ,
that dial up sound is gone,
through it all even though;
I hear" get off my ing lawn ......

Premium Member Close Your Eyes Or Open Them It's Your Thought Use Your Voice and Just Pray-

He's not on the landline those few that are yet activated
He's not on a cell phone, internet, Twitter
Facebook, Myspace
He's ever present you can call him with your eyes open your eyes closed
He can call Him in a whisper from your heart
You can call Him on your knees on your stomach or your back
There's no price that you have to pay
You just have to obey His judgments his call
Help, help us all Lord God...
Pray
Just open up your mouth
Pray
Anything prayer is conversing
Continued askings for thanksgiving
Prayers praying is not just begging, asking for things
Talking to God is an awesome glorious thing
So just open your mouth and talk to Him thinking for everything
Weather silent or out loud just speak the words to the Father now
Vocally or silently just close your eyes and pray
Talk to them the Lord Our God today

Premium Member The Final Setback

depression fleeing
she sits at her computer
MySpace has beckoned

sadness engulfs her
the supposed online boyfriend
laughs behind a mask

words like sharp daggers
whore, ****, and no one likes you. . .
her bedroom’s silence

the scream of horror
when her mother finds her hanged. . .
the final setback

a neighborhood mom
deletes the MySpace account
with the boyfriend’s name

Written 7/9/2016 for the Setbacks Contest of Nayda Ivette Negron
*This is based on a true story I saw on Cyber-bullying. The culprit was a grown woman along with daughters the same age as Megan Meier (the girl in this story whose final setback was to hang herself when she believed it was her supposed online boyfriend who began the vicious attacks on her reputation at My Space). At that time there were no laws against this crime, and the hateful woman went unpunished. See more on the story in notes above.

Myspace

I close my eyes and dream of a space,
To call my own, my own personal place,

I hear voices around me, so muffled and contrived,
Do they not see me standing here, Am I still alive?

The air that fills my lungs, isnt it in yours as well?
And before you knew Salvation didnt you taste of a charring hell?

Ready to point fingers, ready to lay blame,
Do you know how I got here, from whence I came?

When did you earn the right to stand in judgement of me?
Have you blown the breath of life into another entity?

I am not above you nor do I claim to be,
I will not hide below you for the sake of my sanity,

I will stand stubbornly rooted and look unflinchingly upon your face,
And when you are ashamed enough, kindly step out of my personal space.

Quiet Departure

Quiet departure.  Tissue warning

Her life was drawing to its end.
She was content, although she knew
She will greet death as an old friend
Who will soon come to her rescue.
Death will provide the final cure.
Relieve her of her agonies
Which cancer forced to endure
 and grant her merciful release.
She slipped away before the dawn
Still with the smile that she had worn.
To lull us in to thinking she.
For once was resting peacefully.
She knew her old friend death would come
To take her hand and lead her home.

Summer Nights Delight

Summer nights delight.

The sable cloak of night is sown
With a beauty which is shown
By a myriad points of light.
Which show against the dark of night

A background certain to enhance
Selena mistress of romance
As she observes young lovers dreams
She blesses them with soft moon beams.

Although the moon is permanent
Young love is often transient
But for tonight the moon will do.
Her best to make your dreams come true.

The sable cloak of night conceals
What the morning sun reveals
Feelings engendered by the moon
Can fade away alas too soon.

Forever

Forever lies within a beat of a heart

			...In a single moment shared;
				...Beneath the the glow of mystery.

Forever is love, and its embrace.
The tears tasted, the sleepless nights wasted...
and bodies begging to be home

					....Together.

Forever.

In silence they cry,

				...to break the barriers of distance;

And let passion meld them together
with the fire sparked between them.

The eternal flame that guides us all,
through the dark

				...and into the light.

Forever is the thunderous desire
that brings my composure to its knees
when our eyes unite

				....As one.

Forever.

Evil Angel

"Follow me into the sun.
			......Watch me burn."

Light courses through her veins.
I am ablaze
                     ....in the shadow of her eyes.

Sanctity is lost to our touch.
Primal lust.

"In the arms of madness
			.....we are one.

Evil Angel.
		.....Fly to me, I am yours."

Let her blackened wings spread.

I'll await with my tired soul open wide,
at the gate of our destiny.

"Step into the flames
			....Find me."

Wanting

Sometimes I think it's impossible
			....like trying to weld a feather to mercury.

With infinite desire I search the heavens,
hoping I won't lose the drive that I once grasped.

The drive I found when I first met her.
When I first discovered true beauty.

Is that presence lost forever?

That feeling inside I had
		...that wonderment that made me an old soul
				...like a young boy with wide eyes
				....discovering the brilliance of the night sky.

Pondering so much for the first time.

						Being here
							...alone. Encumbered by emptiness.

I am left wanting.

Needing reassurance that my life
isn't just a lost song
		....falling on indifferent ears.

The stars are bright tonight

		....and yet it seems,

				....their shimmer escapes me.

And now I'm here sitting on the gate
of this old pick up, staring at the timeless beauty above.

No longer needing to know the answers to the universe.
I found my answers in love,
I just need her to share it with.

Bring Me the Horizon

I'm ready to go.
Escape the fate I've brought upon myself.
Bring me the horizon;
Temptation bleeds my conscience.

Push the pedal.
Memories scream.
Leave it all behind.
I'm gone.

Bring me the horizon.
Let the engine roar.
I'll be there in the morning.
That place I need to be.
Away.

Sunset falls on dusty patience.
Indifferent to my perseverance.
My weakened tolerance.

Bring me the horizon;
Let these shadows be left behind.

Tragedy

Encrypted understanding.
Beckoned initiative.

Your lies are a tragic remedy
to an oblivious fate.

I welcome chaos,
for I have no sanctuary.

Bleed your aura;
Your color is fading.

Supple emaciation;
Your words choke my reality.

I strive toward the unattainable.

Kiss the illogical,
and suffer cruelty at the hands of
my own weakness.

Release me.

We both,
should have just kept walking.

With Each Risen Sun

Lost in the relevance of time,
I beckon the meaning of life;
I call out to the driving force
that makes me push this pen.

My instinctual capacity to allow
my body to maintain the inertia
of this fleshy animation

				....This spellbound compulsion

						....To seek, To revel, and To cherish
                                                       All these miracles before me.

 I am forever a child looking at the world with new eyes.
Contemplating the meaning of the simplest
 notions with torrential appraisal,
just because I have the ability to wonder.

The blessing of free thought.

And the gift of companionship;

For, what is an intellectual conversation

				...without a partner to share ideas, emotions?
So,
 As you read these words

		....I beg of you, remember:

With each risen sun,
You are blessed with the unknown;
Invoked by providence to take joy
 in discovery and commune with sovereign grace.

Value

A fading whisper of elegant devotion;

					...memory.

A simple dedication of the purest form.

The desire to be of use,
to those that you love.

To wonder where your cards will lay.

					...mystery.

						...destiny.

These are things that instill value in

		...Life.

Things that will make you push on,
when your muscles seize;
The thoughts that compel you
to chase what had been thought
to be impossible.

			...And yet, they are overcame.

It's the simple nature of love
that I value.
The essence of what keeps this
world spinning on it's axis.
It's the courage of the meek,
The grace of the powerful,
and the mercy of the conquerer.

It is a mother's love,
and a father's guidance...
It's life's lessons...

Those with these things will live
rich and fulfilled lives,
for value is not found in possession;
But in the soul.
