The tortured soul will never let go
When off the tongue the words will roll
At all hours never knowing when inspiration will hit
Thoughts running wild, then bridled with a bit
When ruminating on your bed
Tossing around words that rhyme in your head
All the rights that are wronged
Need to be corrected and not prolonged
So you fight in the night
In the realm where we rhyme
No notice (of the lover next to you) or of the time
Are you in believing grieving
Or are you one who's seething with no meaning
When your soul is tortured in the night
Fighting to find the right words and the perfect rhyme
Imploring the sun, imploring daylight
Awake my soul, awake to the mundaneness of life

The Holiday
I looked on the net for a holiday
To visit somewhere picturesque
And escape the mundaneness of life
Just me, the car, and the wife.
We priced up guest houses, hotels
Would it be the lakes, mountains or fells?
A cheap, luxurious getaway, of four days
However far you run, your baggage stays
After hours of pondering ums and ahs
We couldn’t decide, which hotel’s spa
Then we realised, me and the wife
A pretence doesn’t change your life
So, we are staying home, our own bed
Who really needs a holiday? she said.

We were in love like no other couple has ever been.
So hot together, we sizzled when we hit the bed.
You would think we were bacon in a skillet.
Turning on the fire would have been redundant.
We could not keep our hands off each other
Until the little things began creeping in
Reminding us of the mundaneness of life
Laundry, cooking, cleaning, paying bills, working.
Ugh! Damn it! We were perfect the first few days.
Maybe even a week. Then life began to interfere.
Relatives came to visit, outstaying their welcome.
Come on Aunt Edna. You have a home somewhere!
We stopped calling each other “Honey” and “Sweetie”
seconds after she arrived with her criticizing ways.
She was the one, I always think when I look back on it.
We were thoroughly in love until Aunt Edna’s arrival.
He says it was my whining ways around Aunt Edna
That convinced him maybe I was not the woman of his dreams.
These days we are living with other people. We do not smile or wave.
We ignore each other, both probably knowing it was Aunt Edna.

Diversity blooms green and raw
Golden land triggering freedom
Democracy under the jurisdiction of law
Perfection of nature without any flaw
Excitement causing the extinction of boredom
Glorious land burning red
Unity in our blood flowing free
Love wins as hatred lays dead
Determination and strength vowed to wed
Calm and peaceful forever to be
Unique qualities wear out mundaneness
Trust resulting in an impenetrable affection
Credence producing serious humbleness
Knowledge beating the quality of suddenness
Rare characteristics forming a collection
Mouths so kind they host nothing blunt
Integrity is woven into our brains
Acceptance so strong that nobody is a runt
Life very easy without a grunt
Giving rights to others is our fain

Once you are in love
With your fond muse
On the slightest ruse
She’ll get you above
To ornate emptiness
Of aesthetic in grace
Seeking exclusively
Worded art in a glee
Views red and white
Word loud and quiet
Image blue and pink
Rainbows for the ink
Your mundaneness
Of the gun and fun
Will lose the cages
Under the cold sun
Unruffled you’ll see
She makes you airy
You’ll feel the stone
Gone from the lone
Soul, you’re reborn
With rose and thorn
Tremors in neurons
Get rhododendrons
The exciting flowers
Your creative hours
The single malt fine
Taking to cloud nine
What a lovely refuge
Embracing my muse

Mine eye of mind, beauty is not
without the pain that is brought.
Brings no cheer, nothing held dear,
if not seen, life's peril and rot.
Can one see beauty, no pain dealt?
No pain in mind? No grief felt?
Or is a loss, life's set cost?
Shows worth of good that has dwelt.
A lover lost. A sunset's end.
Your dreams crushed. Loss of a friend.
Making things bright, what's taken from sight.
Beauty sans pain, cannot lend.
So give me pain, proving beauty.
Offer heart broke, existing in me.
Pain not ploy, robbing joy.
Only a truth, just not free.
Pain is proof, that a thing was more.
Than simple mundaneness knocking at door.
Something was right. Someone brought light.
An experience touched. Shook you to core.

Safe haven
I am just a mere traveller,
Embracing the ambiguity.
Searching for things
without an ultimate destination.
Like a pale autumn leave;
I go where ever the life takes me.
A safe haven where I met you in amidst of this life journey so far.
An alluring smile of your;
And your impressive words
touched me deep inside.
Here comes the so called “love is in the air” feeling.
Your presence replaced the mundaneness of my life.
And I carry with me the indelible memories of us.
All I know is;
I am singing my heart out in the joy of being into us.
As I stroll through the path of this journey of my life;
I carry our indelible memories. And I smile.

What is a fight without a cause?
Is it just a hidden affair that has no voice?
Only knowledge that cannot be divulged and when discussed, the topic is irrelevant.
Mentality is a place of iniquity.
Mediums are designed by civil engineers to place mentally captured vestibules; those,
which will manifest identities.
You can hear their mundaneness in their conversation.
You do not want to speak to a naked wall.
As a result, they enter your vocal environment.
For that reason, you speak out.

Blink of an eye,
Buddha –
Achieved a state of perfect enlightenment
But this success carried,
Years of persistent determination
To look beyond the failures.
Blink of an eye,
Sprinter –
Upshots a sensational Victory
But this winning carried,
Months of sustained spiritedness
To look beyond the loneliness.
Blink of an eye,
Carnivorous plant –
Digests the insects with complete gratification
But this consummation carried,
Days of longanimity and diligence
To look beyond the mundaneness.
Blink of an eye,
Bird of Jove –
Hunts its prey with absolute precision
But this attainment carried,
Hours of penetrating observance
To look beyond the distractions.
