MORE OR LESS?

Recently has got me thinking...
Why do I resort to drinking?
Is it because I am lonely,
Feeling like a one and only?
Is it subject to depression
Or some personal oppression?
Maybe because it is legal?
Does it soar me like an eagle
For a short time there about
Until I come to passing out?
Ultimately, it's a choice
Spoken in a certain voice
That for me turns into habit
The more that I decide to grab it.
Cans, bottles, shots and schooners
Lately downed sooner and sooner.
Words that give me some salvation...
"Everything in moderation".
I will apply them in the end...
But until then - cheers, my friend.

More or less

Walking down a path I know very well, but have not seen in an eternity.
Memories of this room are stretched longer than what I stand looking at.
Her scent still lingers in my nostrils from a time unattainable.
As I clean out the closet I am overtaken by a feeling I had not appreciated the lessons that made me the person I am today.
Childhood was a mere test of her character that deserved recognition.
I'd give anything to taste the milk of my youth if only to experience her smile one more time.

Life i beleive...yet cant always see.? Is more than
Physicalitys.'
There's infraction, reaction good and evil in action.'
Its hard to press, against the tide..The wall of doubt
The falseness inside' it steals.' In hidden repitiore i hear
So many shugard lies..And also there's a love? that hides.! Because of fear
I've seen them bend (the minds and spirits) too true.!
My friends, some random courage..' Thats what I need!
To see to know.? To ausauge for real' and Jesus knows
On Him I'll call..In this broken hour as burdens fall, let it be
So' though in
Myriad ammount.' by thought and message? by emotive bouts'
I'll let it go, and take His yoke' its better than the worlds old wearied
Trope.. that always tells you, you must cope..! With raging abnormalitys; that Bids you with darkness, and much destruction.. To be at ease.?

Les Moore went down to the liquor store

But then wound up passed out on the floor

He woke Gin anointed

And guite disappointed

So I guess you might say less is more

We tend to give a little more
to the little ones.
Nonetheless,
it's not a matter of
belittlement.
The lesson in lessness,
is not a matter of nothing less
nor nothing else
nor is it about starving to nothingness.
Nevertheless, it's more or less
about giving a little less in
little bits of littleness,
in meager, measly morsels,
that just suffices
and leaves one
just less than starving,
but with a little more
hunger within,
yet to be satisfied.

The more I do, the less is new
    The less I do, the more for you

  The less I do, the more is new
    The more I do, the less to chew

Give more
       Encore

     Give less
       Regress

More Or Less

The mind in constant change for more,
to have or not and what to adore.
Matters of love promulgating those needs,
misconceptions attaching seeds.
Contenting with natures faithful fruit,
to honor that given health sphere suit.
With less, more souls meet at glance,
when facts fall dead and truth takes advance.
Virtue dissolves in motion of purity,
then anxiety paralyses the sense of activity.
More perfection in to forgive,
less judging limitation to outlive.
The more to love in all-exclusives,
realizing that destiny is all-inclusive.
More truth by if cannot be acquired,
but the less by compassion discovered.
Throne of everlasting moving sky,
laws of fixed position shining ray.
Lesser stars grow slowly dim,
virtues subtle eclipse and its glowing rim.
More things unseen by eyes limitation,
mysteries bond for innocent creation.
To sink into more mind despair,
less respect turns into dark without fair.
More faith is the wisdom source,
less seen spirits maintain that earth-ship course.

Of Myth and More Or Less

I. Myth

A giant, I thought, fondly,
one that brought power first;
then, too, love, always love,
then, too, justice, wisdom;
you commanded the supplications
just as surely as your gods;
I thought it would reside in you
and preside over me forever.

II. More

Far more, I thought, fondly,
and gifts of bounty at hand;
then, too, power, always power,
then, too, justice, wisdom;
so, then, more the reward of good
and more the power of the reward;
you were sure it was yours
and divinity would surely follow.

III. Less

No less, I thought, fondly,
it was always these, I assumed;
then, too, those, always those,
then, too, less the malignant seed;
but assumption is deepest folly,
and greater exactitude held sway;
gone the lesser virtues,
less than the virtues pledged.

IV. Of And Or

I surely walked into a hemisphere
darkened by my own design;
but perhaps you walked, or lurched,
or clumsily something elsed;
perhaps into a hemisphere darker,
unwittingly darkened by folly;
I won't know until I get there,
and even then I might not.

Sometimes It's Not How Much You Know , More Or Less What You Let Go

You can't build your future off of your past
Because that's a structure that will never last
It's like running full speed forward while looking back
Tell me how far do you think you'll get like that

How can you ever have a piece of mind
When your mind is always focused on what's behind
Leaves you walking thru life on a very thin line
And it keeps you trapped somewhere back in time

It's easy to move yourself forward and gain respect
But yet the mirror cast an image that's easy to detect
Cause your mind on the past thinking it'll happen next
Which leaves you bother and so complex

One lesson I've found , that took me so long to find true
You can only move forward by putting the past behind you.
It may leave you heartfelt and maybe a little blue
But you got to accept it or let it go and do what you do

A couple had less – wanted more.
Were convinced that their lives were a snore.
Sold their house for a thrill.
Spent the money until
Lottery tickets covered the floor.

Spending months on their townhouse floor
Scratching tickets ‘til fingers were sore.
I’m sorry to say
Because of all that they paid
They ended up with LESS - and Not MORE.

Note: Based on a true story reported in a Michigan newspaper in the 1970's.

More Or Less

Should I talk
more or less?
Are you interested
more or less?

Does your heart beat
more or less?
Should I text or call
more or less?

Should I visit you
more or less?
Does it please you
more or less?

Will we become
more than friends
or less than strangers?

More Or Less

how many years
does it take to see
the More you have
the less you're free
the other way around
is what you'd think it'd be
the More you have
the less you need
but what you need
isn't always what you have
as we all could do
with a little less
and the less you have
the More you know
it's easier
to let it go

...and when you find that
the less that you'll want

More Or Less

It used to be that we knew more or less,
How to use more and less.
We could safely ask for more and not get less,
Or ask for less and not get more.

It used to be straight forward more or less,
Now some think more is less and less is more.
I'm now not as sure as I was before which confuses me more.

The confusion started around use of more and less,
When we found we could buy more for less,
Though the more we got with less was sometimes less,
And the less that got us more was sometimes more.
Could anything confuse us more or less.

It is enough to make one feel more or less useless,
Unless one decides to care less which suits me more or less.
If I call more large and less small, I will know more or less,
How to ask for less pie and not get more,
Or ask for more cake and not get less.

Has this helped you more, or less to know when to use more and less.

More Or Less

Take less, give more
Complain less, thank more
Hate less, love more
Fake less, be real the more .

Break less, mend more
Sick less, fit more
Play less, read more
Fail less, achieve more.

Detain less, retain more
Stain less, honor more
Raze less, build more
Less less, more plus.
