More Or Less

Written by Gail DeBole

A couple had less – wanted more.
Were convinced that their lives were a snore.
Sold their house for a thrill.
Spent the money until
Lottery tickets covered the floor.

Spending months on their townhouse floor
Scratching tickets ‘til fingers were sore.
I’m sorry to say
Because of all that they paid
They ended up with LESS - and Not MORE.

Note: Based on a true story reported in a Michigan newspaper in the 1970's.

Hi Andrea, Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it was a news story at the time and, sadly, these people didn't appreciate what they already had. - Gail

This happens but it's horrible. Just another addiction. God bless you.

Hi Caren, Thanks so much for stopping by! In fact, this was taken from a news article I read many years ago. Wonder if that couple ever bounced back financially? Have an enjoyable day! - Best Regards, Gail
