MOMENTARY REFLECTION

I was paralyzed in thought,
and standing all alone;
Surrounded by darkness,
everything was gone...

With barely a glimpse, from the corner of my eye;
I was travelling so fast as I passed myself by.
I was moving at high speed, as if,
somehow out of time.

Thinking to myself, looking back into the distance;
Could I have been resting, 
or was there something

A Momentary Chill

Although I cannot hear your sound, 
I feel you must be hanging 'round
as I grow old.
I can't fool myself or pretend.  
You don't compromise or bend
when it's time for me to end. 
Why are you so cold? 

You're like a woman in a fantasy
I think about but never see. 
Through hardship and strife,

Momentary Head Fake

There are some things
you can only sing
but never say

There are some things
given out but once
in the foray

There are some things
that the world lays claim
and takes its due

There are some things
past the cloud of time
you must pursue

Living on the edge
is sharper
cut or not

Dying for that
final answer
knowing what

Praising what the mob
is damning
come what may

Loving what the 
moment

A Momentary Dazzle

Sunlight tumbles
over an open window,
then swallow-dives
into a silver kitchen sink.

Fractals of reflected iridescence
dance over China plates.

A surface tension
between a faucet and a drop of water
creates a solar flare
within its liquid release.

I imagine a mighty splash,
picture an arching rainbow
cresting over high waves.

Buoyant beams
spill over the glinting rim
of a breakfast spoon.

Lately  things change rapidly, as if the world is spinning...
Everything is momentary, one thing to the next
Working hard to survive the hurdles that continue,
since a whirlwind of disruption uprooted my life
I still see a beautiful sunset or special clouds pass by
All the while I battle roadblocks that appear in my way

Forests Momentary Silence

today’s forest is silent
then I hear a weird clicking noise
I follow the sound to a tall walnut tree
scan it but see nothing
the clicking stops
I turn and it starts again
a shy bird?
I look from branch to branch
whatever is here is hidden

a dark flying shadow on the ground gets my attention
I look up
wing span says hawk or

A Momentary Blast

Invigorating rock and roll shakes the morning air
Bandsmen play Comanche, on the marble stairs
People that I used to know, tap their feet and smile
Iron curtain rusty folds melt down for a while
Can’t define now what it was, the end, or the beginning
Not a lot to comprehend left in underpinning
Reasons come and reasons go, morning sun

Momentary Miracles

Perhaps we should speak more of the miraculous,
the wonderful unexpected, and delightfully ordinary.

Easy it is to write of darkling moods, none are immune,
yet all are capable of seeing miracles flashing out
of a mind veiled by gloom.

Accept gladly the holy vision
that shines through our own divinity,
sure signs that proclaim
we are here to discover
the wonder of ourselves.

Just a Momentary Lapse of Reason

Memories come back to me ,

Like the tides of a calm sea

Bringing a twinkle and a smile

Even if it all meant just for a while


Kiss on my lips, 

A hug filled with warmth,

Hours of chatter 

As if nothing else mattered

When everyone is duly sublime

The momentary people

I think of the Roma people 
there are many of them in the Algarve.
Horse and cart the bother irate drives
horse manure, good for the roses.

When a bank goes belly-up, you can’t sue
for misusing your deposit.

When airplanes are grounded
and cars rust on the roadside, no donkeys,
to plough fields, the Roma will continue
the journey towards

When I am enjoying my present moment in free 
mind, no stress, working actively what I like most to 
do, it gives me momentary happiness, I find
 it when enjoying simple things in my life; it's true.

There Is Momentary Fanfare

The song reflects like a deep pool.
The sunset's a floating gemstone.
Melody moves me then oh so slow.
The fresh playing of instruments.
Strong voices sing the inspired songs.
Young women dance on the sidelines.
And the young men watch them closely.
A solo guitar plays the lead.
Other instruments soon join in.
The energy is powerful.
Then they all end at the same
