Forests Momentary Silence

today’s forest is silent then I hear a weird clicking noise I follow the sound to a tall walnut tree scan it but see nothing the clicking stops I turn and it starts again a shy bird? I look from branch to branch whatever is here is hidden a dark flying shadow on the ground gets my attention I look up wing span says hawk or eagle it is gone in no time a loud crow dips down from a cloud his annoying caw sounds like wha wha wha four smaller birds take off the forest is teeming with life and sounds her silence was momentary
