Misled Poems

Misled

Nor thunder in the dark, nor flash, nor fire,
nor other pyrotechnics that, they say,
accompany all such events, nor dire
phantasmagorias, going astray

in the unconsciousness. I’m all alone
down by the river which impassive face
turns gold with dusk. The other side is grown
with willows. A bit cloudy; a quick trace

of water striders, playing tag; a heron,
hiding among the reeds; a leaky boat;
an empty planked footway. But where is Charon?
The obol I have brought for him to float

me far away lies on the riverbed:
the tricky death as usual misled.

Misled Intentions

The frigid wind brushed up against her legs as she rubbed them, hoping to compose warmth.
Looking up into the gray skies, she rocked back and forth.
Her eyes shed a tear as she realized that her life meant nothing.
She stepped out into the road hoping to feel something.
Looking onto oncoming traffic, she knew what she had done.
Finally, against her demons, she had won.
In the corner of her eye she saw a man.
Running to her, he held up his hand.
He pushed her out of the way as the car took him instead.
No. She said. Her intentions were misled.
The car was meant for him not her.
It was all just a blur.
Luckily, he is still alive.
Her emotions were in overdrive.
They live happily ever after with passion in their eyes.
Still going strong with her campaign against suicide.

Niece Misled

She was a beautiful girl
Dark and plush like her dad,
I held her in my hands,
Smiling was she, the eldest
Of my sister's motherhood.

She has grown up now,
She is a woman,
A fool with dirty cash has caught her,
It was her younger sister first,
Now safely hidden at varsity,
Thug is brainless with money,
A few ciders and grills,
My niece has a worm in head,
She cannot see beyond
The shrinking horizon of lynx money.

My little girl,
Stop that enterprise,
There is no reality in it,
It is an unjust, shameful relationship.

Who are you to tell me that?
You are not my father!

Little niece,
Have you ever seen your father?

Misled

I can only hold so much
In my hand
I could only hold
Onto yours;

We could barely stand.

Nighttime
Downtown
I pulled you into
Bright buildings--
Slipping
You were laughing at
The smile I spilled out.

People’s empty words,
Your neck on my mouth.

I can only hold so much
In my head.

How many
Days until
You will see me again?

Until you
Crawl back into the
Dream I misled?

The wound I scooped out?
The flowers I brought down?

Today is hell
I catch you from across the room
All I want is you in my bed;
All I want is for the flowers to bloom.

If ever I’ve felt anything,
It was hurt
And I can only hold so much.

So many
Words you no longer want;
The mouth you
Gave me like a wound.

I wanted to hold on;
Wanted it to be you.

Princess Misled:

Kissed a bunch of frogs
They were still frogs in the end.
Kissed toads, until warts grew
Why is what you're looking for
Always in the last place you look
I asked myself.?

I needed my Prince
Oh how I needed my hero.
Ready to give up, I drank
Potions from the last cauldron.
About to call it a life.

My Fairy Godmother
Was a Witch.....
I Was under her spell
Still I searched once
Again to no avail.

One last kiss did I perform
To my surprise this last frog
Transformed; When the
Prince saw me, with warts
On my skin: Mission
Completed as this now my end.

The moral of the story is as clear
As can be, Mono or herpes is not
Worth the risk.
The toads that you kiss...
May not be so charming;Fairy Tale
Metaphors, may prove be alarming.

Real Princesses, go home
When they leave the ball,,
The Prince was not very happy, not
Happy at all: He ran away screaming...
"Ladies and Princesses should never kiss frogs "

Premium MemberMisled Love

I know I misled you at intersections in my mind
And I didn’t consider your life mixed with mine
If I'm able to show you how good this'll all be
Will you start again forever loving you and me?

Can you let me back to where I had been before?
Where you felt true devotion, love forever more
I could have lost it all in an instant that day
Why didn't I think before I turned to walk away

I dwelled on nothing for far too many long days
You've always animated me in each and every way
I have no problems when dealing with commitment
I know that your love is more than just evident

Just please tell me if this ride gets too rough
I will never walk away or say I have had enough
There won't be time you wonder where I had went
Every moment away is another second sadly spent
