Misgivings Poems

Remember us?
We were not invited to your plenty.
Remember us?
Our Bounty was far less than empty.
Remember us?
We tilled, we toiled, we too wiped our brows.
Remember us?
We sang, we joyed, we too danced our bows.

Have you forgotten us?
With what's left of our dollar thirty six.
Have you forgotten us?
A can of beans and toast for drumsticks.
Have your forgotten us?
Lifting higher than everyone does.
Have you forsaken us?
To burrow through time as Cicadas.

Having Misgivings

Having misgivings about things
that you have done and did regretting
your past

Unfortunately and sadly is an unavoidable
consequence and fundamental part of life

Simply no way of avoiding it or getting away
with it

And if you have you have to ask yourself

Exactly how have you managed that

sensations

pulsate

        leaping jumping

Undaunted

Tasteless pelt whiffs of mundane air
Against my nostrils numb with dread;
Scarcely fathom I what spectacle fair
Beyond this umbra curtain latent lies.

Tetchy harbingers over dark corners
Lurk under dismal mirage-like cloud;
Tomorrow's dreams in eldritch lines
 Occlude wisest presages renowned.

Each day's bleak bulletins present
Chillily menacing brutish shadows,
As jinxed year's tides forward hop
Into ever-spiraling strangling woes.

Suave eccedentesiast lips no longer
Can mask sore past's swelling blight,
Nor plastic laughter as finely conceal
Apprehensive misgiving's inured bite.

Though indelible certainty clear outline
Of stealthily skulking prospect obscure,
And crafty clock dials key inchings hide,
This menaced soul shall still reign pure.

Fitful gusts
Occasional thunderstorms
Sunless cannonades
Refreshing breezes
Little gusts
Interesting seedpods
Violent lusts
Emotional whirlwinds, mistrust
Strong misgivings

Sexual Misgivings

There is this instinctive desire
To fulfill one’s sexual craving;
Programmed into the human psychic,
Just like the beating of the heart
Which, after millions of years of evolution,
Resists the surgeon’s prerequisite
To stop it before operating.

One would assume that rest would be welcomed
But instead, the heart rejects this procedure.
The pulse once activated must never stop
And beats faster with sexual readiness
To ensure survival of the species.
How simple and yet complex
The concept of love’s role
Is acted upon DNA’s spiral ladder
Of emotional trickery
With physical gratification.

The act itself is aesthetically unattractive,
Awkward, and a passage whereby
Bacteria and viruses
Can breach the body’s
Defense mechanisms.
Still, over and again, the gambit is thrown
(Using pills, devices, and genetics,
Evolutionary and scientifically employed)
In the belief, that pathosis will be thwarted.
The pleasure is worth the risk.

Misgivings

Misgivings.

The long road is a petrified asphalt river where it dips and falls
into an abyss it’s boiling and steam arises, cars fall in
disappear, never to be seen again
I have warned them do not drive when the sun sets,
but headless they drive into their own oblivion.
Ancient sorrow, under the new lane is a roman road
soldiers, who had been promised eternal life, come to life when
the sun drips golden blood;
Heaven help a driver caught up in their rage his many regrets are as
useless as morning dew on wayside weeds.

Has it come to this?

Seeds that were ordain to blossom and harvest,
however years have brought up darkness
Constant reminders of the past misgivings,
instead of moving on with faith and hope
We find ourselves, on a downward slope
Who can be the hardest and push the farthest

          Those misgivings
never seems to stay sealed in a box and forgiven
Those ordain seeds have grown leggy, weak, and disease

Why does that noxious dust stir?

Looking back at fragments of our lives
Chiseled away from our solid foundation
Pieces of our diamond tossed into the garbage
Ripping us to shreds away from where we were

I am tired of fighting.

I sink to my knees, bow my head
Swells of tears flow hot and fast
Soul settling heavy
With each whispered breath constantly spewing

 I want it to cease!

I’m starving for tender dreams and harmony
I surrender to the footprints in the sand
To be rescued in His peace

Misgivings

Words often used to chide a child
   Grew deep within his soul
Where, as their taste was never mild,
   They took a hefty toll.

They never meant or mattered much
To those who caused him pain,
Yet, full of scorn, they swiftly touched
And made him grieve in vain.

From those few words grew up in him
   Misgivings harsh and great
Which filled his life’s cup to the brim
And made him weep with hate.

Throughout his youth and later days
He tried to break the curse
Which cast him into its dark maze
   And claimed his universe.

Now old, he may perceive at last
   The irony of fate,
Though many tests he had to pass
   His heart to liberate.

What might seem harmless at first sight
   Can cause a heavy scar
Which throws the soul into the night
   And makes it stray afar.

Once time has passed, there’s no return
   To childhood’s fleeting days;
Let every soul amain discern
   The coarseness of its ways.

Misgivings

Words shall fall upon deaf ears
Touch shall feel upon unfelt
Hours to only feel as long as years
As of thoughts were for doubts

Falling in love to unlove
Understanding before it begins
Doing so much for so little worth
Losing ten folds over triumphing wins

Leaving to once more come again
Staying to fall apart without a place
Leaving tomorrow for yesterday to remain
As always is time beyond choices raise

Before after rather other ever never till until
Above below beyond behold every highs for lows
Unfelt was felt unfeel to feel when unreal is real
Chilling heat for heating chill when hot is cold

Deaf where words once fall
Unfelt where once were touch
Untimely place for timely call
As given as misgiving as life as such
