The Window By The Mango Tree

There was a window by the mango tree,
facing west, where sunlight spilled like secrets.

That’s where I waited,
where I last saw you—
not waving, just walking.

The curtains danced even when the wind was still.
They remembered your scent
better than I did.

I tried to forget the taste of afternoons
without your laugh in the hallway.
Tried to unhear the sound
of your keys…
not returning.

The mango tree grew quiet,
like it, too, was grieving.
Its fruits fell without reason—
like how people leave
without explanation.

Even now,
I pass that window
and forget to breathe.

This is how I remember it:
Not with fireworks or music,
but with silence,
and the ghost of your footsteps
fading into the floorboards
of a house
that no longer knows your name.

Ode To a Mango Tree

Mango tree,
Lovely and beautiful,
As a salsa lady,
You are exotic,
And tropical splendors,
Your leathery sultry petals,
With fine and rare warmth,
Dress the body,
Of your surreal canopy,
In the enchanted wind,
Like a salsa lady,
The curves of your fruits,
Are like brilliant,
orange moons,,
And they blush,
With love,
red as roses,
By deep kisses,
Of moon and sun,
Resplendently,
Upon your sweet,
Boughs,
That bow,
And sway,,
Sway and bow,
With a harvest,
Of kindness,
And its,
Parched,
And,
Damp,
Allure,
Mango tree,
Like a salsa lady,
Your delicious canopy,
Is rare beautiful delights,
It gifts her sighs,
With love,
warmth of days,
And their starry nights

Away Up a Mango Tree

Away up a mango tree, no signal below
The bee on the fruit is like my fellow
The sky is so dark but I simply don't care
For writing my poem can make my day fair

Away up a mango tree, writing my poem
For my poetry's like my precious gem
I simply just don't care what happens around
For if I go down, no signal on the ground

Away up a mango tree, some people wonder
Like the bees around me that buzz and ponder
The clouds on the dark sky are wanting to cry
But for me what matters is there's signal here on high

On Top of a Mango Tree

Upon a hill, on top of a mango tree
There I wrote my poetry
Under the scorching sun that pierces the leaves
Trying to dig the thoughts under my sleeves

Sky was blue and wind was high
All around, the wild bees fly
The birds sang a melody
Like a sublime rhapsody

Premium MemberUnder the Mango Tree

By my red tiled house stands a mango tree
Beneath it I cherish my treasured memories
Where cows merrily roam and cattle graze
As morning sky scintillates in marigold rays
Face of innocent days I spent in tiny village
Amid rice fields gracing serene landscapes
Watching crops grow from seeds to harvests
Playing game of cricket and idling in silliness
From dawn till dusk, ambling with friends
Venturing out coyly, exploring night’s secrets
Walking dusty roads holding kerosine lamps
Strolling like silhouettes on dark river banks
Floating young emotions on giggling streams
Stealing kiss of love, choreographing dreams
As we told stories spinning moonlit wizardry
Listening to wilderness strumming wild music
By my red tiled house, under the mango tree
Where eternally lie my childhood memories

A Mango Tree In Brooklyn

A mango is not only a fruit it’s an island
An image of memories, it organic taste
This represents the first bite to the last:
Tracing back to its originality,
Tropical warmth, which smooths the lips
The sweet, succulent taste is noticeable:

Somehow, the roots refuse to grow
In Brooklyn, amount the sandy earth
Where the suffering continues,

A mango tree will never rooted in Brooklyn.
The soil is useless and barren,
Seized with an impotent anger
Where the death toll rises daily

Little Boy's Mango Tree

My garden is full of colorful flowers
The fragrance they unfurl cleans our soul
They do not need the rain showers
We happily feed the plant, since it's our ultimate goal.

Humming birds are the regular visitors
They intimate their presence by their beautiful tone
In the midst of the garden,we affixed a bird feeder
It helps to feed the birds, even we are out of town

Once a little boy visited our garden
He had a mango seed in his hand
He looked like a fairy, his appearance brightens
like the sunshine,he obliged me to bury the seed

I said that we should plant a sapling
as this would not get enough strength to grow
He said "faith can do anything"
and again compelled me to sow

I am not sure whether he is a gnome or pixie
But there was something in his words
Now my garden has a big mango tree
and it has become a party place for the birds

(Mirrored Tanka)

Mango falls from tree
Ripe, delicious and so sweet
Mango tree so tall
It gives such a tasty fruit
Mango drops near top of head
Mango drops near top of head
It gives such a tasty fruit
Mango tree so tall
Ripe, delicious and so sweet
Mango falls from tree

The Mango Tree

The Mango tree

She was waiting for me where I chose to
build a house and set up my family.
She too grew up, but on her own. Sheltered
my house from the sun and extended her
sweetness every time for free. Now, a
grandma, her limbs are weak. I am afraid
she will collapse over my home in the
next April’s gale. And therefore I think of
sending her off to an old-age-home, the
timber merchant’s yard. She protests not.
As if sensing my mind, she is all blooms
as never before, and I’m in two minds.

Green Leaves of Mango Tree

Green tiny leaves of mango tree,
Dancing outside caressed by the wind,
Gleaming and beaming bathed by the rain,
Allowing my heart to be inspired and gain.

I think about having to be in your world,
Even if it takes only a minute from my world,
To forget some sadness and ease that pain,
In my heart who has been a fool again.

Why is my heart still in love with him?
Even though I know his world doesn't come to me,
Only in my dreams I could be on my own,
Pretending he loves me and we're flying to the moon.

Green leaves of mango tree bathed by the rain,
Tell me how can i ease this pain.
