“Rash and inexperienced”
frees thoughts within my mind
of traipsing deepest Africa
retrieving melon rinds.
Bi-colored python rock snakes
and wondrous fever trees
delights in my imagining
from phrases such as these…
How is a rudyard kippled?
I’ve often wondered that.
Perhaps Limpopo’s man-of-war
and I could have a chat.
Though pachyderms and heffalumps
can make the mind run wild,
enchantments hang on every page
of Just So Stories, child.

The Middle Eastern watch
As the Zionist regime tries
To assert its territorial area
Territorial integrity now threatened
They unleash terror on their enemies
Its called the holy land but why now
In the name of all that's sacred and holy
The continuous strife and endless wars
They talk of Abrahamic faiths at loggerheads
Be it though that The Lord is a Man of War
But why is it that us humans can't coexist
Even when our religions preach peace
There are always undertones of war
Call it Jihad or a Holy war.. blood shed
Is still abominable.. when did human life
Cease to have value.. now bombs drop
Then the retaliations are organized daily
Then the entire world watches the fever
Praying the virulent middle Eastern fever
Doesn't spread into the entire region
Praying that 'The end' will not come soon..
Even so the Word asserts come soon Lord

Mounted on a Missouri mule,
All my possessions in a sack.
The scorching sun, oh so cruel,
Sweat running down my back.
On the way to Kansas City,
To visit my older brother.
Angry still, what a pity,
From one thing or the other.
While crossing a swollen creek,
I only made it halfway through.
This trip started looking bleak,
When my mule threw a shoe.
Afraid of what was next in store,
My mount then loudly groaned.
Bolting off like Man of War,
With everything I owned.
I landed hard on my head,
No drug could ease the pain.
One more thing I had to dread,
It then began to rain.
Standing there all soaking wet,
Drops pelting off my dome.
Beginning now to regret,
I turned around and headed home.

- When the Soldier Came Home -
When the man of war returns to his home town,
When the shock and awe were for another’s toy crown,
Too late he heard the cries for peace,
Too soon he let his anger crease.
After thought had bought a new beginning,
He could stop the bullets ringing,
Say “No more shall I kill my brother”,
Scream “YES, we can love one another”.
To fuel the brightest spark of what we can be,
Forgive but don’t forget the lessons of history,
A man can always plant a seed,
With grace knowing all people bleed,
A new tree must grow and beauty flower,
Without the need for greed and power.
His simple words from simple lips,
Out of reach from lavish fingertips,
“We are all together; be it rag or gown”,
So always be kind,
To the man of war,
In your home town.

LIFE IS A GREAT LESSON
TO THOSE THAT ALLOW TO BE TAUGHT BY IT
FORETOLD ARE THE STORIES OF LONG
Never to be the same way told
For life can be a crime to those of hope lost
Man of war scattered all around, roaming
Justified be I to tell of long stories
Make your path to lead a way forward
Best are they standing and waiting
But never react to what life throws at them
Surely I know what you could not do
I should not do for leading to failure
Later are the results unavoidable to the wisdom of foretold
But never listened
Wisdom pounds the mind of the foolish to even,
Mock it and not listen.
For life a great lesson who is willing to learn,
For it can’t be said that you’ll fail,
But learn the learned
In achievement of what is good
Let free of the heart that can’t let go
Seek vision for to see the real
Life a lesson, god gave, Man changed, character ruined
But returned, LIFE STILL A GREAT LESSON.

Down under the bridge
down under the care
care for each other
care for hire
hire a trunk
hire a gown
gown for wedding
gown for party
party in a house
party in an office
office of the first lady
office of the senate
senate of the university
senate of the state
state of the nation
state of the mind
mind of the wicked
mind of the good
good to serve
good to learn
learn to read
learn to write
write a project
write a book
book of history
book of honor
honor thy mother
honor thy father
father is harsh
father is tall
tall is the pole
tall is the tree
tree of death
tree of life
life of a cat
life of a child
child is small
child is young
young in age
young in action
action of a woman
action of a man
man of war
man of dignity
dignity in silence
dignity in service
service to God
service to man

They meet in Atlanta's airport, sat down and had a chat
Heading home than to a resort, in full uniform at that
Brad was very impressed his respect bubbling through
In asking for his address "so I could send a card to you"
The soldier wrote in his book and they soon parted ways
Not really giving it a second look for these were glory days
Such a reunion it would be lot's of hugs and some tears too
So good to once again see, crying is just about all you can do
And then the family trip came as excitement just filled the air
It was like a whole new ball game as this time dad would be there
What a difference in being around the family was again complete
But in getting there they found something that was also pretty neat
Checking in there was zero balance due but how could that be
A man named Brad did this for you, your whole entire trip is free
This soldier, a man of war, was so touched by his generous act
Shown a love right from the core, but he did it with such tact

Imagine: hearing the scraping as nails harsh against, their walls
Creche preludes sensing this foreboding; crawling, past these veins ?
Sanctum sanctorum and macabre's, man-of-war his abomination peering
Stepping-stone hallucinations; intuitive marked it's beast ? Ancient's, six'pence....
Monere, a child's eyes prophetic tides omega: hideous, standing where they ought not.

Words now are leaves waiting for the fall
I have seen them green
But loved them gold most of all
When trees were naked before the eyes
And words were tattered so with lies
And faith shook
The trees barren. I pined for fruit
Of lips of truth, or breast of purity
I hungered for love
And saw nudity that tells of shallowness
The only deep soil left is my heart
Words are being beaten into plough
But I prefer the two-edged sword
Since I am not a man of war.

King of kings, Lord of lords
You are worthy,
Mighty, you are mighty
Prince of peace, Glorious God

Faithful, you are faithful
Man of war, lord of all
You are faithful!
Wonderful, you are wonderful
Awesome God, the living Lord
I worship you!
Holy, you are Holy
Immortal and invincible God
You are Holy!

I give my life and love to thee
Thou lamb of god who died for me
He was bound and bruised to set me free
O let me be yours forever, my prayer and plea
I give my heart and home to thy service
Thou man of war who brought me peace
You took my curse, for my sin to cease
Let me be yours forever o prince of peace
I leave my sins and sorrows at Calvary
The cruel cross with a sacred story
Where the savior gave us grace and glory
And the hope of that golden city of glory
I give my faith and fears to thee
Thou son of god who gave me glow and glee
In pains and perils even in the stormy sea
I will never fret nor fall because I trust in thee
