 your output
                 to the universe
             comes back to you
like a "Return to Sender" mail.

              if you treat people
  with utmost respect and dignity,
              they'll reciprocate;
         treasure in, treasure out.

           the same can be said
               of maltreatment,
        it's always repaid in kind;
         garbage in, garbage out.

                 it's a fair trade,
                    every time.
       in this cruel, savage world,
sprinkle in a handful of tenderness.

         one is infinitely better off
               trading meanness
                   with kindness.
            it's much easier being...

             a good human being.
           it's far from expensive;
               buy into it, it costs
                less than a penny!

Repetitively Mistreatment

Some people told you to go to hell
Because of your repetitively maltreatment.
Your hearts broke after hearing that but
You continued being  very merciless,
Thinking they were  unmotionals.
I tell you to go to heavens
Because I know that you will kill
Those brutal animals in your hearts
And you will look different in their eyes.
Receive my love where you are in different countries.

Poem For Today

"Be happy in the moment, that's enough.
Each moment is all we need."
                                          Quote_ Mother Teresa

Problem's color dwindles as morning dawns.
Obstacles which seemed unsurmountable
Evaporate as entanglements fade.
Might it be that I left them in God's hands?

For real, I rest in His care and constraint.
Offering each day praise; then thanksgiving
Remains my focus despite the day's stress.

Today as I rise, fresh on this moment...
Offense and maltreatment I can pardon.
Deliberate actions rejected, gone.
A word from the Lord brings understanding -
You are forgiven, the operative words.

Question Marked

Are we looking at our grandmothers in the mirror as we mirage irrelevance?
Is not my mother’s shadow her mother’s?
Are we crowning our heads with tolerance for ignorance?
Are the attributes of maltreatment nursed then passed on of a rod?
Are we then shadowing our mothers with silence?
Are we still angry with our fathers’ deficiencies?
Is there not irrelevant relevance to us reflecting the past presently?

Is womanhood manhood?

How

How do you expect her, not to get wet
While standing in rain
How do you expect her, not to burn
When walking in flame
How do you expect her , not to feel pain
When getting hurt everyday
How do you expect her , not to break
When regularly being corroded
How do you expect her , not to react
While facing maltreatment
How do you expect her , not to rebel
After suffering years in hell

How do you expect her to apologize
When you have made the mistake
How do you expect her to forgive
When your acts were full of abuses
How do you expect her to be healed
When scars stretch from head to heel
How do you expect her to recover
From the heartaches daily delivered
How do you expect her to be normal
After witnessing acts  of evil
How do you expect her to be well
While being with a person like devil

Manifactured Subservience

appeasing waves
of unreasonable
requests dumped
upon the shoulders
of the unsuspecting
victim
creating an
atmosphere
of subordinance
to the irrationality
surrounding each
encounter which
always seemed
to required an
amount of
subservience
towards
unwarranted
maltreatment
manifactured a
continued state
of obedience

When Mom discovered
Dad's jaded eye,
she barred the door
on maltreatment.

When she consented
to leave the farm,
our last day of hard labor
in the cotton fields
flaked the dust off our boots.

When Dad's drinking
got out of hand,
she drew a new line
in her own gritty sand.

His constant discontent
gouged tattered holes
in Mama's peace.

When Daddy died early,
her bondage sailed
down a river of freedom.

In her advanced years,
Mom's overworked bones
paid tribute
in spasms of pain.

Death, for her,
marked the end of struggle.
She said the angels were singing.
