Memory Poem In Apartment A - 1971
a brace of wine glasses standing tall on a kitchen table
greasy frying pan luxuriating immodestly in the kitchen sink
two forks and two knives bathing naked in the steamy water
vinyl black record spinning clockwise under a cool ceiling fan
music by beethoven caressing the hour with perfume sounds
clock on the television console ticking with slicker love-bites
purple pleated pillow breathing excitedly on a big green sofa
portraits of curious dead people peeping through glass frames
bowl of red fruit sitting ripe and ready on an oak dining table
wide open window allowing a red sunset through shy curtains
bathroom faucet in pink bathroom dripping rivulets of sweat
silent resplendent wall mirror staring with secret fascinations
a brace of wine glasses standing tall on a kitchen table

Sensing and yearning allure of daydreams
My musings amble in meadows of themes,
Sometimes wowing ebullience of dawning,
Sometimes luxuriating in moonlit evening
Gazing lambent skies of stellar twinkling,
Inviting me to echo my inner most feelings;
Of whispers romantic when love is courting,
Of giggling streams and blossoming springs,
Of resplendent autumn’s falling gilded leaves,
Of fate unkind, bawling, in throes of grief,
Of pristine joy beaming from mother’s eyes
Jubilant in delight of child’s innocent smile;
Of ebb and flow to life in seasons undulating
Spurring me to attribute form and meaning.
So, I write verses stemming from core of soul
Striving to capture essence of elusive words,
Exploring assonance, even in rhymeless prose,
Attempting to inspire spirit of wordless woes
As thoughts-poetic heart’s rhythms compose;
Of chromatic sunsets and scintillating dawns,
Of starless nights hosting tenebrous bygones,
Of tales strumming romance, of fables forlorn,
Of ideas enthroned, of paradigms bemoaned,
Of boundless expressions, of passions I own.

Just you and me, cogitating intently, placidly,
Contemplating peaceably, balance of being,
Listening to birdsongs jubilantly serenading
Tranquility luxuriating upon hills and valleys
Where bees on blossoms propagate symbiosis
Amid euphonic winds soothing glint evening
Caressing buoyancy on ebb and flow of tides
When, upon golden arc, sunbeams subside
Scintillating leisurely amber glow of eventide
Congruent on horizon where pelicans glide
Hushed in sunset ochre, etching crimson sky
On quiescent ocean shore lost in idyllic vibes
Just you and me, placid, in amity of seaside
Calming pulsing beats, consoling complexity,
Breathing-in holy serenity, exhaling impurity~
Transcendent feelings, blissfully in harmony.

When I am reveling in love of family
Toasting virtues of revered friendships
Savoring freedoms that let me be
Luxuriating on sandy white beaches
Endowed with means to live carefree
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When sadness reigns face of anguish
Bearing glumness of stygian grief,
In harmony of the galaxy solace I feel
Purging clouds of bleak melancholy
As moonlit gleam rescues my evening
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When new day glints wondrous valleys
As I bask in hues of resplendent prairies
Admiring nature’s ebullient beauty--
Golden sun beams on tenor of streams
Rushing to rivers and mighty blue seas
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When I rejoice in tranquility of music
Strumming rhythms of euphoric lyrics
Cherishing chorus of happy memories
Turning setbacks into success stories
Comforting soul in misery of defeats
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
Or is this divinity’s sacred blessing
Evincing revelation of stellar deity:
There is a star with my name on it.

Fabulous is summer’s zeal, rustling its vibrant appeal
Allured by song of robins, warbling from willow trees
Rhapsodic in revelry of frolicking shamrock prairies
Enticing lovers’ exuberance waltzing on ocean breeze
Where sandy footprints amble, exuding playful hints
Eagerly invoking love through kindled vibes of fantasies
Luxuriating on beaches, reminiscing sensual musings
Longingly indulging in smitten hearts’ fervent dreams
Tantalized by multicolored choreography of monarchs
Orbiting scented blossoms, articulating random dance
Seduced by fiery vistas invoking passions of romance
Ubiquitous in changing colors beckoning advent of fall
Meticulously browning fields where cattle lazily graze
Mesmerized in twilight blaze, scintillating orange-red
Ebulliently painting horizon in decaying crimson glaze
Ruminating autumn’s brilliance in summer’s farewell

A chill of Autumn in the air
and spider’s webs are everywhere
these delicate exquisite works of art
such beauty and joy fills my heart
Old Man’s beard has just appeared
weaving its way through blackberry bushes
loved that name when I was small
to touch ~ so furry
to see ~ enthralled
Blackberries plump and succulent
awaiting to be picked
evoking memories of Mum’s fruit crumbles
blackberries and apples mixed
Sloes ~ a rich dark purple fruit
ripe and ready to bathe in Gin
patiently waiting
sloes luxuriating
tempted to taste
but must not haste
for to sip a Sloe Gin on a cold winters night
leaves a feeling of warmth
and another ~ well I might...

Which pair of shorts to wear today
What color T-shirt best romps around and plays
Should I sleep in 'til eight, eight-thirty, or nine
How about 9:30, Central Daylight Time...
Hmm. It's ten already. To heck with breakfast
Before you know it, the sun'll be heading west
Think I'll mosey out back and catch a few rays
What a way to start another lazy summer's day...
Huh? I have a job to do? The toilet needs cleaning?
Oh, well. From useful work I thought I was weaning
Alright. OK. I'm on it. Give me about half an hour
Then it'll be time for my morning shower...
Ah! Nothing like luxuriating, using up all the hot H2O
So much for the laundry in the washer. That's the way it goes
And now, let me see. Oh, my! It's nearly one!
Time for lunch. And then my morning will be done...
As you see, I've got it really rough
When the tough got going
They left me behind ~

Spending today
whilst wiling away
each hour
each minute
each second
Pottering about
doing nought
I am feeling
relaxed as can be
For today I have spent
with delightful intent
bathing in words
luxuriating in bubbles
with poetry cleansing my soul
erasing my troubles
sploshing
and splashing
I swim in her poetry puddles
just like Singing in the Rain
I love playing this game
becoming Gene Kelly again…

Mesmeric gondola ride
Hypnotic lull
Water barely moving
Dipping and dripping
With barely a sound
Beauty of silence
Gently trailing my fingers under the water
Utterly relaxed
Luxuriating in God’s beauty
Italy’s loveliness
Coaxing me into a gentle nap

The Life of a Breakwater
A walk on the sharp shingle led to where
The dry, smooth surface felt warm to our feet,
The pale grey stonework embedded in the beach.
Those steps so broad and long led down into
The calm sea. We paused, luxuriating
Where the Summer sun caressed the concrete
And the water washed languidly over
The next step, a shallow paddling pool
Of sun-warmed water. But then, the cold sea
Brought a shiver as the sun hid its face
With dark clouds predicting a future state.
After long years, seen only at low tide,
There are jagged teeth covered in green slime;
This monument, discarded by progress
When the old beach was sculpted and renewed,
Lies hidden under the restless waves.
High tide splashes along the shoreline and
The smell of the sea air never changes.

I shall indulge in a glorious decadence,
caressing the softness of your bronze skin.
Luxuriating in your coconut scented splendor,
as I gorge on the succulence of your bounty.
Caressing the softness of your bronze skin,
it is impossible to imagine a greater pleasure.
As I gorge on the succulence of your bounty,
my mouth craves to know you completely....
It is impossible to imagine a greater pleasure,
Consummate with me our boundless passion!
My mouth craves to know you completely,
let our bodies be instruments of true loves expression.
Consummate with me our boundless passion,
leaving not a single desire unexpressed.
Let our bodies be instruments true loves expression,
only then can we truly be transformed.
Leaving not a single desire unexpressed,
luxuriating in your coconut scented splendor.
Only then can we truly be transformed.
We shall indulge in a glorious decadence!

I am a spirit
I shatter the dis-ambience of the country
with a flick of my fingers
a stone dashes for a ridge
with a tender tickle
trees rattle their drum branches
with the tip of my pinkie
I raise a rainbow to its potential
with the grasp of my hand
a tornado chews up cows
the length of my limbs
hurls waves towards their certain demise
my breath gives a sigh
to the wearied sheep dog
luxuriating atop a fenced-in hill
I was human once.
Do I perpetuate nature
out of resentment
or from kindness
It’s sure I’m invisible
but you’ll feel me
as hail strikes your bare neck

A Winter Tale
I was going out driving to the shops and buy food, switched off indoors lamps,
only the grey winter light came in, and the living room looked like the depth of
a severe depression, the moment when you check your gun and sigh because it
is not loaded and you will live a day longer.
I left the heater on low switched on a couple of side lights this gave the room
a cosy feeling. The room luxuriating in its own slightly seedy look, used furniture,
settee, chairs and a books shelve that is a picture of literary disorganisation.
It was raining outside I looked into my own room, had not drawn the curtains,
the room looked inviting and thought why should it have the privileges of
slow lifestyles while had to buy firewood and keep the room warm.
I was standing there, a foundling looking into a rich man´s house Christmas Eve,
with only a box of matches that, only paedophiles would buy. I need no newspaper,
joined my room switched on the TV, together we enjoyed a comfy winter evening,
that had the romance of apple strudel and Grimm`s fairytales.
