farms await bony hands of want
land thirsty for full bodied Love
what strength is needed to grow the maize
whilst shadows roam streets in haze
leaves like notes blow across ferocious Falls
how long can darkness juggle its balls
¥
balls of the clown are tired of work
calm Falls continue their crystal splash cries
shadows between trees rustle like hungry
beggars
maize aromas ripe fill air for inhalation
yellow Earth bursts fiery gore
hands of farmworkers touch Lushness of Lore

My eyes to something beautiful are drawn
up past the peaks where clouds of pink are swirled.
I take up my pen seeing her again.
It’s the Enchantress Spring I look upon.
She stands with long hair streaming in the wind
of a glorious, bright, beautiful dawn
as the temperate breeze embraces her.
She banishes harsh days. Winter is gone!
Bird song and lushness she conjures the world.
Seeing her again, I take up my pen
to capture all the magic Spring brings on.

cascades of color
creates fragrance enigma
bougainvillea
purple sun pastime
and lushness now has a name
sangria dawn fame
peach noon honey glazed
lends sparkle to cherry blooms
like Mars sunset rooms
frozen beauty falls
just past the time of tulips
in gold sun closeups

Calm halts clouds swollen with snow,
they will resent the continuous blow
of the four winds of bitter February;
an unleashed snowstorm is pure fury!
An elated mood rises amid the air of glumness,
April rain is far from the mornings of tearfulness;
snowy meadows will return to their vivid lushness...
even winter birds can't wait for spring cheerfulness!
I fret thinking about isolated days,
activities are limited to sceneries;
be a skier and be ready for thrills:
see deer leaping on foxes' trails!
Walking is exploring the quite wilderness
under the glistening coat of magical whiteness;
Jays that ate berries miss their sweetness...
all birds rely on feeders on those harsh winters!
Travel the whitened roads of the stunning wilderness,
they offer reflective poets joyful quotes of stillness;
a long ride on a saddle horse going at a slow pace
opens up the landscape to a stream with a lively dace!

I was just a child,
enraged by my inaptitude to act
I dashed home,
surprised,
my eyes wide open
trying to retain the tears at bay,
fists clenched
palms are pierced by nails,
lungs contract, begging for breath...
I couldn't keep an eye on him.
He was
a dark furred man-bear
with forlorn, teary eyes,
waltzing to the beat of a drum.
In his irises, I saw
the lushness of wetlands,
cherries and wild fruits
the vastness of the mountains
as well as the nectar of icy streams,
and honey-laden trees.
With a chain around his neck,
standing tall on his back legs
all
he was pleading for
was
freedom.

Through the shallow depths of my soul,
I sail on a wild surface with no control.
Passengers of dreams, we set sail,
With the wind blowing through, we prevail.
In this journey, we navigate,
A lushness of views and emotions, subtle and innate
The wind sighs secrets and plays on the flagpole.
As we traverse the depths of our souls.
Such blossoms dancing in the breeze,
We wandered through the forest with ease.
Mountains rise, majestic and grand,
As we sail through this enchanted land.
Whispers of the surface guide our way.
Leading us to a brighter day.
The wind caresses our weary souls.
Blowing away the doubts that bear their toll
Through every twist and turn we forego,
Finding strength we didn't know
Passengers of our destiny,
Navigating with grace and unity
The forest whispers secrets profound,
As ancient wisdom, we have found.
The wind sings a melody so sweet,
Guiding us with a rhythm unique.

over occupied world
bewildering hodge-podge of people
pushing stress where it ought not to be
in the slim rays of late day
in the splattered mess of guttered streets
a homeless man asks for a light
for a half burnt cigarette
then money for food
nerve knotted living squeezed between soiled fingers
his fingers
most shove by him like gnats late for breeding
people in pinup poses
keep silent midst foul displacement
shun soiled annoyance like shoddy prospects
does a story untold, matter?
does all humanity deserve recognition?
maybe things just fall apart all on their own
maybe once there was a time when lushness oozed like honey
from a jar
homeless man seeks a light
unflagging energy to be seen
girdled by grit
a real mission
not to wipe away self like crumbs from a plate
sometimes we move in gray clouds
a pretense, unseeing squalor
as vagabond pleas jar at comfort
our aligned security by uttering "No"
such feel good factors
defending synthetic spheres
that peer at screens
as light loses traction

Man the tall mountain,
Protector to pose,
Flexing of granite,
Willed flesh to propose.
Woman the valley,
Soft curving flow,
Stretching of lushness,
Receiving to grow.
Leave them as different,
Equal or bold,
Embracing of matter,
Completing the mold.

grim starkness of snow
sturdy in its sleeted falling
willing a bleached landscape
a lushness
that chokes the rough field terrain
strides of power
as the fevered wind
spirals In an unexpected direction
inflates drifts like the arched back of a cat
whitening truant brown borders of decay
to bury even shadows
bare trees by fence lines slump like hollow men
in a protected sanctuary of cold
re-shaping confessions that slip
in winter chill extinction

Fall begins with ice in the wind
A light shiver inside and out
As if the summer breeze has sinned
And lost it’s heat to blow about
Cooling your senses with each breath
Fall begins with ice in the wind
Leaves change and fall like life and death
As lushness in the trees has thinned
This chill left me not frowned but grinned
Hints of cool leave me gladly numb
Fall begins with ice in the wind
As I welcome hints of autumn
A season with both warm and cold
As Mother Nature’s wunderkind
Feel it approach as once was told
Fall begins with ice in the wind

Oh, tempter, displaying your unripe ruby fruit,
Easy pickings for the lazy, raffish masses
While staying your ripe royal lushness out of reach
Behind thorn barriers to tear the hides of men
Greedy to press their lips against your swollen skin,
Then gentle bite, receive your bitter-sweet reward.

Love comes softly in a rocking surprise,
Gently caressing wounds turning it dry;
Sowing a new seed at a new sunrise,
That sprouts to lushness after the first try.
Now, growing softly in whispering hope,
With gradual climb of sweet crescendo;
Spreading like pink coral vines without slope,
On sturdy wall where no one could undo.
While lying in its stronger arm, it blooms,
Heart magically beats, we can’t subdue;
Spring flowers in all sites fill the vast rooms,
True love wafted on air in sprinkling dew.
Finally, it’s seen by one’s dreamy eyes,
Love comes softly in a rocking surprise.

Lemon tree very pretty
I lived in a village where the neighbour had a lemon tree
it was on rich soil in the small garden where chicken roamed
In January, it was full of perfectly formed fruit, beautiful shining bright
with an effervescent hint of green.
I wished someone would take the tree to an art gallery
as an example of perfection.
At an art exhibition, I saw a painting of a lemon by Gunther Grass,
it was beautiful looked real in its yellow lushness; he won a Nobel prize,
not for the lemon but for his marvellous authorship.
Near Ramallah, there was a similar lemon tree greatly admired
by the locals, but the settlers came burned down the tree.
This is what happens when the brutes rule.

Cushioned in soft lushness, this grass
I gaze at you, there, each facet
With my eyes I can trace every line, each tress of hair
Each mark a memory, laughter, motherhood
Your eyes so blue, deep. coy yet of promise
Your lips carrying that smile that lit my love
Soft down that covers your brow
Oh I would caress in an instant, kiss in a second
Hold in a moment, and not ever let go
I try so hard not to hate the wind
As it carries you away, a little at a time
Leaving wisps only
Leaving only blue sky

summer scent of roses loosens grips of gloom
floral cups of red charm capture healing,
melt defenses
she inhales a held bouquet
ensnared romantically,
one couple's free fall to love
in a fragrance courting worship
its aroma of lushness
immodest crimson flames, born on long stems
she bypasses thorns, the cutting traces of pain
cultivates blooms
the crisp red blush of summer
that soothes corrosive woe
to soften her restless sway, misgivings
what shimmers in a garden?
scents seductive
enticing her
stirringly brief
an atmospheric wonder
as secrets slide away
