The Fist in the Word

Poetry is not a flower placed gently in the hair of a soft Sunday evening,
It is the fist that comes from the blind corner and shatters your teeth without reprieving,
It is the ape inside the man that screams when the word hits it square in the snout,
It is the blood that runs beautifully down the white page... and cannot be stopped... and will not run out.

I don't want verses that caress and lull and rock you and lie to you with grace,
I want verses that burn through the stomach like an ice knife finding its place,
I want you to read and slam the book shut and curse and rise up from your chair,
I want you to feel that something in your chest has been broken... and nothing is left there.

True beauty is ugly and dirty and sweating and real and raw and unashamed,
It is the ape in a man's suit staring at itself in the mirror where criminals are named,
It is the moment you recognize in the verse exactly what you hid beneath your masks,
And the fist comes straight from the page... and there is nowhere to step back... nobody asks.

The word that shocks is not obscene and not crude and not vulgar just for show,
It is the naked truth without apology that breaks every protocol and every flow,
It is the stanza that grabs you by the collar and tells you exactly what you don't want to hear,
And leaves a mark on your face... and you go home... and you can no longer pretend... it isn't clear.

The ape inside the man reads and recognizes and rages and throws its stones,
Because the verse has seen its instinct hiding beneath all its clothes and all its tones,
Good poetry is the shame you feel when someone catches you with your hand in the flame,
It is the fist that does not strike the face... but drives straight into the soul... into the softest place of blame.

So write with blood and with fear and with everything you never wanted to say,
Let the ape howl from the verse and let the man take the blow without delay,
For poetry that does not shock is just beautiful noise in the air that drifts and dies,
But the real fist... stays... and hurts... and leaves its mark... and never fully dies.

Dainty Ballerina

In silken shoes, she twirls upon the stage,
A whisper of the wind, so light, so free,
Her movements paint the air, a soft engage,
With every leap, she writes a symphony.

Dainty as petals kissed by morning dew,
Delicate lines drawn in the evening light,
A fleeting dream, with every turn she flew,
A fleeting glimpse of heaven, pure delight.

Her heart beats strong beneath the gauzy veil,
Grace woven through each arch and pointed toe,
In every spin, the world begins to pale,
And time suspends, as if it longs to know.

A ballerina, in her art, she’s bound,
In graceful dance, true beauty can be found.

Premium Member Naked Smile

I look upon her pretty mask
The expression so serene
What lies beneath that naked smile?
Where has this woman been?

I look through the portals to her soul
Those lovely and haunting eyes
Despite her greatest effort
This part she cannot disguise

Once the mask is stripped away
vulnerable there she stands
I take her gently in my arms
I make no harsh demands

Floodgates are opened
Her emotions set free
I witness the true beauty
She has gifted to me

I look upon her pretty face
Expression so serene
Yes she gifts me her naked smile
The most beautiful I've ever seen

A.I. BEAUTY
By Leon Enriquez

A compelling form:
Art by new means comes
In a causal norm
As beauty now sums
Charm that thus informs
A candid road bump

Light pixels now tint
Allure and fine shades
Colours etch new mint
In charming new trade
As warm visual hints
Convey lot man-made

~~~~~~~~~
Visual media facts
A certain sure poise
Defines a bold tact
Mimics nature’s voice
Lovely light enacts
Volition by choice
What you now can see
Is awesome visage
A crisp certainty
In rites of passage
Fantastic beauty
In thrilling message
~~~~~~~~~

And yet the picture
Sparkles deficit
Incomplete fixture
In movement tacit
That vibrant texture
Flings soul debit

Too good to be true
A picture perfect
Finesse right on cue
Flawless on neglect
Beyond me and you
In stance and in slack

~~~~~~~~~
A.I. Beauty glows
To mock mortal flaws
To argue and show
Human nature raw
As time ever knows
Our corrupt sure thaw
Yes look now and see
The real from the fake
Brisk passing beauty
That nature re-makes
Recycle and be
Earth gives and then takes
~~~~~~~~~

So let change reveal
How time brings on fate
No need to conceal
Destiny and state
Appoint death’s goodwill
Beyond Use By Date

So take the high road
To live your fine spark
With soul and with load
To draft your own mark
Here as time thus goads
Sing you spirit lark

~~~~~~~~~
Let the truth guide you
As you take your place
Mortal fest on cue
With your changing face
Fashion in fond due
Your passion and space
Pixels and tints draw
Upon nature’s grace
In heat and in thaw
Know your time and place
New or old or raw
Here and Now dare face
~~~~~~~~~

Look to true beauty
What nature now shows
In pause or tarry
Where your life path flows
With change you ferry
To live life you know

In imperfect form
Lives undying soul
Astound the brisk norm
As you glimpse true whole
Concord despite storms
Describes pole to pole

She Stands By Me Despite My Faults

she stands by me despite my faults
when i get bashful in public, she tolerates me when i block out
she accepts me flaws and all even when i do not deserve it
she may not be the most beautiful, but that fades with time and age
her true beauty is ever present through the knowledge of herself
her only change is when she is sleeping peacefully in a slumber of quietude
for the first time i feel that i can actually be myself freely without judgement
she is the same person i met a few lifetimes and a few less pounds back
she admires me because of the simple definition of ME as i do her
as a result, we make wonderful partners of dwelling and in travel
with her i feel like i am living on vacation everyday regardless of certain inevitables
for that, i am truly grateful, and i owe every new outlook within me to her
this poem says "Thank You"....

Premium Member Somewhere Warm

I'll always love my sweet bluebird
I'll always hope and dream
For sunsets on a coral beach
Somewhere in the gulfstream
Alone with you, such a view
True beauty to behold
And I'm not talking sunsets
It's you that shines like gold

And when the final rays of light
Go down behind the sea
I'll dance with you into the night
And hold you close to me
I'll kiss you under moonlit skies
The tide will ebb and flow
In rhythm with my heartbeat
Making sure you know

How much I love and cherish you
And want the day to come
When you and I can be a team
And do things two as one
Watch sunsets on a coral beach
Somewhere in the gulfstream
And remember back to when those things
Were only just a dream

Autumn

Autumn's true beauty will display,
                                        A woodland scene, a final show.
                                        Those falling leaves, red gold and grey,

                                         On gentle breezes dance and sway,
                                         A graceful sight as cool winds flow.
                                         Autumn's true beauty will display,

                                          A magic carpet as they lay.
                                          Beneath the trees once more they blow,
                                          Those falling leaves ,red gold and grey.

                                           Now on the woodland floor they play,
                                           In morning mist, and sunlights glow.
                                           Autumn's true beauty will display,

                                           A tapestry from disarray.
                                           An ever changing to and fro,
                                           Those falling leaves, red gold and grey,

                                           Will dance once more, before decay.
                                           One final show of trees we know,
                                           Autumn's true beauty will display,
                                           Those falling leaves, red gold and grey.

Flower Petals

Flower petals are soft, smooth, silky to the touch,
They bring smiles to our face, both old and young,

Flower petals bring vibrate color alive,
As bright as the clear blue sky,
They bring happiness to all our lives.

Flower petals are like a special friend,
They are unique, special to the heart,
When you are apart, they keep your close to your heart.

Flower petals their scent is to be enjoyed,
They are beautiful inside and out,
To be cherished all year round,
In a vase, to be seen all the time,
For true beauty should be displayed with joy,
A heart full of love, is truly one of a kind...

Beauty

these days girls dont understand
they're playing with a deadly hand
when they dont stop and realize
there is no need to disguise
how they look inside and out
that's not what beauty is about
diet pills and never eating
makes their body take a beating
all because they want to be
as thin as models on t.v.
images around the world
are scarring self esteem of girls
who think they will never fit in
unless they are pretty and thin
why cant they just realize
its not whats before their eyes
that makes them who they really are
its only whats inside their hearts
that proves how special they can be
giving them their true beauty

Premium Member In a corner of thought, where time stops to catch its breath

In a corner of thought, where time stops to catch its breath,
I felt how your dreamlike touch envelops my being,
Coming from a world where reality is woven with threads of light,
Where stars are sisters and the moon is an old friend, whispering secrets to you.
You descended, an unearthly miracle, like a ray slipping through the curtain of darkness,
And every step you take floats on air heavy with mystery,
And in your wake, flowers open, casting their fragrance as a tribute to beauty,
And every unspoken word becomes a silent song, a poetry of the soul.
It's as if you come from a place where eternity intertwines with the moment,
Where there are no shadows, only lights dancing on the wings of dreams,
And there, in that universe of galaxies and stardust, you are both queen and prisoner,
Carrying the longing for an unwritten story, seeking to share your infinity with me.
I asked the wind, I asked the sea, where do you come from, sweet enigma,
And they whispered that you come from realms where love knows no death,
Where every heartbeat is an echo of a star being born,
And you chose to descend, to bring me light and show me true beauty.
In your presence, words melt, becoming symphonies without sound,
And every moment spent with you is an eternity stolen from time,
For you, my unearthly beloved, have given me your immortality,
And I, looking into your eyes, found the universe that was always foreign to me.
And in this dance of souls, I see how your sacrifice becomes my immortality,
And I wonder, how did I deserve this story written in the stars,
Where you and I, together, will explore eternity on the wings of love,
And create a universe of our own, where time holds no power.
