Regina was so ecstatic to meet Cousin Joe.
With the following words, she wanted to let me know:
“Wow, Joe’s appearance is so similar to yours, Mike!
Not since Patty Duke have two cousins looked so alike!”
In sharp contrast, Joe displayed a reticent outlook.
He might have thought this was another wrong turn he took.
A nice Italian dinner and a movie were planned.
All the while, Joe seemed reluctant to give out his hand.
In private, Joe had a few disturbing words to say.
He said, “Mike, what the hell have you brought me here today?
Regina’s a somewhat pretty girl, but she’s too fat.
I was really expecting something better than that!”
I replied, “Joe, give her a chance. She is very nice.
You are not too friendly with her. You’ve been cold as ice.
When we get back home, we will leave both of you alone.
Get to know her better. She’s one you’ll want for your own.”
Joe said, “Mike, I don’t know. I might have to disagree.”
I immediately responded saying “Trust me”!
When we got back home, I asked Stephanie for a walk.
“We should leave Joe and Regina alone for a talk.
Let’s go somewhere by ourselves for an hour or more, please.
We’ll leave Joe and Regina here to feel more at ease.”
Some time later, Stephanie and I returned home.
Regina and Joe upstairs to a room they would roam.
This couple came downstairs as naked as two jaybirds.
They did not know we were home. They did not hear our words.
Initially embarrassed, Joe said to us, “Who Cares?
Come on Regina dear, why don’t we go back upstairs?”

Let me tell yall a little sumthin bout me
I left my church to pursue my callin
forget soul searching God got me on the throne
so I'm spiritually ballin
Now I then seen the political numbers
so people doubted I can do it like Stephanie Rawlings
but check it I take orders from the 5 Star General
and I'm just a crucifixion away from meeting the servant
Now look, I been fallin out of his good graces
like Alicia Keys, praying for wisdom, knowledge,
and understanding so I stay on bended knees
and I'm just me no better than the next man
just lyrically gifted, Paul said we we're more
than conquerors so thats why I'm trying to get lifted.
I represent the 12 tribes of Isreal so I'm one of the
chosen few, but like you I'm still on the front line making solider moves
this here is the testimony and me I never feared danger
but still people wondering where I came from like Jesus in the manger
I tell em I been sent to witness not testify
live life till the last day
when the good Lord meets me in the sky
Just after diagnosis with MS,
Stephanie took injections,
Beta interferon injections,
Which saw her to Beijing.
She was originally, in the past,
A British team swimmer,
A really good swimmer,
So she continued on in the Paras.
2010 and the World Champs,
Held in the city of Eindhoven,
In Holland, where lies Eindhoven,
Holland is also called the Netherlands.
There Stephanie won five silvers,
Plus one very sure bronze,
Proud of that bronze,
So she qualified for the Euros.
2011 and in Berlin, DE,
Stephanie won three golds,
Add two silvers onto these golds,
To get the result.
At the London Paralympics,
Stephanie won four silvers,
Three were individual silvers,
Plus one 4x100m relay bronze.
In 2013, the Worlds, Montreal,
Golds: Stephanie won four,
Her prides came to four,
Plus one shining silver.
Then 2014 at the Euros,
In Eindhoven she sealed six golds,
Add one silver onto these golds,
And also one bronze.
In Rio Stephanie won two more golds,
One for the 100m backstroke,
No more an S9, now S8 backstroke,
And one for the 4x100m medley relay.
(This is a fictional poem)
Last week I felt great fear.
I met Erin Moran and Stephanie Weir.
Erin starred in Happy Days and Stephanie starred in Mad TV.
They joined forces and beat the hell out of me.
They whooped me because I accidentally called them Stephanie Weird and Erin
Moron.
When they got through beating me, most of my teeth were gone.
That ticked me off so I slapped them and told them that they are witches who
should be flying on brooms.
They attacked me again and sent me to the emergency room.
I'll never again be able to watch Happy Days or Mad TV.
If you ever meet Moran or Weir, watch what you say to them or you'll go to the
hospital like me.
Form:
Oh, I can’t believe who I now see.
Is that really you my dear Stephanie?
You have changed so much in such a short time.
Right now, you appear absolutely sublime!
Remember that jerk in our high school homeroom?
He was the one who always called you “Boom-Boom”.
He kept saying you were a fat and ugly cow.
Wait until he sees what you are looking like now.
You sacrificed those calories, and you look great.
He does not know that you are married and lost weight.
Well, he won’t be seeing you on this occasion.
He committed crimes and was sentenced to prison.
So Lisa, you went off to go to college.
You were always one for gaining knowledge.
It is so nice to see you again.
Everyone remembers the class valedictorian.
Have you met anyone interesting as of late?
I remember when you went out with that blind date.
He left you at that movie, that conniving rat.
Don’t worry Lisa. You can do better than that.
(I'm really sorry if I left your name off, but I tried to do
all the premium members I could imagine plus the
non-premiums with whom I regularly communicate.
If you are not here, I'm just not seeing you around!)

In today’s society, as each man lives his life,
he is entitled by law to have only one wife.
The sweetest question to my future bride Stephanie
would be my own words, “Stephanie, will you marry me?”
Of course, she replied with a very elated “yes”.
She promised me to provide a life of happiness.
However, one problem showed from the euphoria.
This move would break the heart of her best friend Regina.
Although Regina wished us all the best with her heart,
Stephanie and I knew inside she was torn apart.
Although Regina was Stephanie’s best life-long friend,
Regina probably felt her world was at an end.
This made me feel some guilt with a bit of sympathy.
After all, through Regina, I first met Stephanie.
I came up with something that seemed satisfactory.
“We should set up Regina with a blind date some night.
I have a cousin named Joe that appears to be right.
In almost every way, my cousin Joe looks like me.
I’m sure Joe and Regina can both be quite happy.”
We had planned for the next weekend when those two should meet.
Over the phone, I described Regina as too sweet.
Joe was happy to hear, and could not wait for that night.
Everything seemed to be going as planned, and just right.
Regina arrived at my house on Saturday night.
She was dressed in silk with her appearance a delight.
Regina wanted to make a great first impression
This lady thought green was appealing for the session.
Joe was downstairs in the den watching television.
I called him up right after Regina’s arrival.
Joe’s looks impressed Regina. She rendered a big smile.
To Be Continued
It’s been 10 years since I retired from teaching…
but…every now and then…happily…some of those old memories soar…
This week awakened by a letter…a photo…
and a chance meeting at a grocery store.
The letter was from Jason…an old student…
in his letters…for me he always prays…
We’ve been writing back-and-forth for years.
His letter arrived today.
The photo was of Stephanie…
Her beautiful memories I shall always prize…
Stephanie was non-verbal…she did her talking with her eyes.
The chance meeting was with Austin’s dad…
I hadn’t seen him or Austin in a while…
and when we said our goodbyes
In my mind I kept seeing Austin’s smile.
I remember my teaching days with fondness
It was hard work…but it was fun.
By the way…Austin is no 32, Stephanie’s 45…and Jason is 51.
Still my memories of them are fresh…as fresh as the day they were made
and I hope I’m blessed throughout my life that their memories never fade.
I hope I’ll always remember those moments we shared
as what they were…a beautiful synchronicity
How…while I was busy teaching them…they were just as busy teaching me.
Yes, I hope…in the short time we were together
they learned as much from me…
As I learned when I was teaching
Jason,
Austin
and Stephanie.
Oh my poor darling Sylvia aka Stephanie.
What in the world are you now going to do with yourself, now that you no longer have me?
I wanted to help you Sylvia aka Stephanie.
I mean that from the bottom of my heart most sincerely,
but it looks like you may be way too far gone now, even for me to try,
so let's you and I now do the mature adult thing. Lets just Kiss And Say Goodbye.
"Sylvia, aka MS Drew, aka Stephanie
was thrown off of Poetry Soup eventually.
Afterward feelings of guilt began to follow and haunt me,
and so I made one last effort to help Sylvia, aka Stephanie."
