Ascent and Descent

We have a tendency to focus on our flaws, despite it being what makes us human; what we despise is what one desires, and what we desire is what someone despises.
I felt this way for years; I still do- the perpetuous feeling that I’m horrendous.
When I look in my mirror, I don’t see my full lips, my long lashes, or my hourglass; I see my short legs, protruding stomach, and my eyebags.
Yet people with those flaws are beautiful- so why am I not?
The answer is that I am; I am beautiful, I am worthy, and I’m not horrendous- I simply haven’t been able to process my worth yet.
It seems that each passing year, I reflect on myself, making those negative remarks, rendering myself as unattractive.
Though, next year, I’ll look back on myself and realize how gorgeous I truly was; though it’s not that simple to prevent those negative feelings from pursuing.
Does beauty even exist, though?
It’s repeatedly changed over time, and it’s quite subjective, which has caused me to believe that true beauty doesn’t exist; it’s simply a perception.
I shouldn’t waste my time trying to ease the perceptions of others; I should follow my own, because short legs, protruding stomachs, and eyebags are beautiful; they’re only viewed in a negative way because society itself is ugly.
If I abide by every standard of others, I’ll only feel regret, for my happiness shall pulverize.
If I create myself to be someone who is healthy and who I love, my happiness shall thrive.
Though these insecurities will persist, even with the most attractive individuals- they’ll always haunt you, whether or not you believe in yourself.
So I dissected myself.
…
Carving every inch of me until my insides are out; but when I do so, my organs look the same as everyone else’s.
Bathing in perplexion until I realized; we’re all the same on the inside- and as I try to stuff my organs back inside of me, I remember what people say-
See, I’ve been told before, just like anyone else, that I’m ugly.
People take advantage of others' sensitivity in order to ease their insecurities; but they’re morons who don’t know what they’re talking about.
They try ridding of their “flaws” by projecting it on others, though those rigid thoughts will always remain inside.
But truth be told, we all have the same interior- and..
You’ll truly be happy if you stop caring about the perceptions of others.

Premium Member Listen To That Still, Small Voice

Proverbs 18:12 “Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.”

In the stillness of my senses, I hear a voice
the voice – often distant, giving me its opinion
when I look at the world and see,
it is me that looks to be, the one I hear
telling me to give into the temptation to be
self-regarding, self-seeking, self-centered
greedy with my time, my kindness, my gifts
greedy, secretly greedy – so no one can see
what I often lack is an altruistic sincerity,
kindness that serves, giving into the voice
that is not really me – it is the One who I know
makes a way through the ego’s greed,
into the beautiful of mercy and grace, completing me
with a sensitivity that can only be found
when looking into the heart that has been reformed
by the gentle hand of One who died and bled,
One who spoke to my spirit when He said…

“let go of your pride – let go of your greed”
“listen to the wisdom of generosity”
“listen to the insights of One who died on a tree”
“listen to the understanding of compassion”

He told me that love is more than the voice I hear –
the voice that tells me to make myself clear
when all is said and done, it tells me to hear
the selfishness of my tone, the egotism
that comes from knowing – it’s what I want, what I crave
what I covet, what I desire…
that are the most important to me when I ignore
the voice deep within – the voice I hear, when
I hear the love that rests in my spirit
when I let go of my pride, and hear what He’s revealing
through a compassion, a grace, an unending faith – love
that comes to say…

on the cross, He made a way
on the cross, He came to say
whatever comes, just kneel and pray
to the One who refused to be self-seeking
with His love, His gift to all people…
He silenced the doubting, the darkness, the greedy
		With LOVE – unconditional…

He taught us the meaning, of listening to that voice
the voice – the selfless pleading…
spoken by the Creator who had a plan
to restore each soul and I know He can
free us from our pride, our selfish greed
change our entire lives, silence our egos
and remind us what it means
to love beyond our greed – to love because all we need
is this Jesus who came to breathe…

life into those who believe, faith into those who see
the love that will ever be… the answer for you and me!

He is my almighty, my always, my armor
He is my blessing, my breath, my boldness
He is my comfort, my carpenter, my compassion
He is my divinity, my devotion, my delight
He is my earth, my eternity, my enlightenment
He is my faith, my fulfillment, my future
He is my God, my gift, my grace
He is my hope, my heart, my heaven
He is my insight, my inspiration, my inner guide
He is my joy, my judgement, my Jesus
He is my king, my kindness, my keeper
He is my light, my love, my laughter
He is my maker, my music, my morning
He is my necessity, my nurturer, my night
He is my openness, my oil, my offering
He is my purity, my praise, my peace
He is my quest, my quiet, my quivering
He is my rock, my redeemer, my rest
He is my shepherd, my sight, my sensitivity
He is my truth, my treasure, my theology
He is my understanding, my unity, my usefulness
He is my value, my vastness, my virtue
He is my worth, my warmth, my wisdom
He is my xenia, my xenas, my xenodochy
He is my yearning, my yore, my yesterday
He is my zeal, my zenith, my zest

He is my Jesus, He is my God, He is my Holy Spirit
He is the One I love… He is my everything
Yesterday, tomorrow and today – always
He holds the key to death and the grave
As well as my eternity – Praise His holy name!

Matthew 16:13-19
King James Version
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Premium Member The Mountain I Believed To Be Id

Across the valley
Stood the mountain I believed to be id
Two levels and a summit
Made it appear layered
Like first-dynasty pyramids

It would be a long climb
Step, stumble, slip,
Clutch and elevate my entire being

The valley’s simple green plants
Lived in symbiotic coexistence
With bees and ants
Nature nurturing nature
An embryonic journey
Between the Tigres and Euphrates

Such splendor might have caused me to remain
Many do
But I walked on

At the base of the mountain I paused
The summit hidden by a cloud ring
I looked back upon my Mesopotamia
Hailing its verdant simplicity
Questioning the summit’s worth

But uncontrollable curiosity
And unquenchable desire
Edged me forward

I climbed onto rocky soil
I stumbled as stones slipped ‘neath my feet
Reaching out to clutch a bush
I pulled upward

The first plateau ran before me as a brook
I peered into the pool of life
Finding amphibians, reptiles, fish
I waded
Ankles rubbing green algae
Creating eerie sensitivity
Slippery touch

The water cooled me
Thinning air brought calm
A sandy bottom soothed me

Such harmony might have
Caused me to remain
Many do

But above me
Within a mystical Saturnic cloud
Secrets of the summit beckoned
Edging me to elevate

Sweaty palms grasped a wild rose’s stem
Sharp thorns drew blood
My body fatigued, I cursed the climb
What marvels lay above the ring

The second plateau’s diversity thrilled me
Simple moss, brown rabbits
Deer with long, willowy legs
Hundreds of life forms
Gave me entrance
To Thoreau’s untouched paradise

The alluring cloud hung low above me
I questioned my destination
The second plateau’s oasis might have
Caused me to remain
Many do

But irresistible desire
Again edged me to step, stumble
Slip, clutch and elevate

I entered the cloud layer
Feeling hot and cold dancing vapor
The mountain I believed to be id
Swam under my feet

Perplexed, I muddled upward
Above the timber line
No trees, no grass
No plants, no animals
No life

Still I was curious for id
And took the final step

A cold granite peak
Amidst the grey moisture
Self-realization was achieved

I had seen all that was beautiful
But passed it by
The key to paradise was offered
Three times
Yet I had been a martyr to my own desire

I could not see
The valley, brook,
Or paradise of total life

I could see
Only myself
And I cried
For want of something beautiful

Premium Member Your Love

Your love is like the moonlit night
With dancing stars, brilliant and alive
Piercing the sky with shimmering laughter
Joy so enthusiastic it just trembles pleasure
Beyond description, beyond reason
Pleasure so sweet it promises the fantasy

Your love is like the breath of morning sunlight
Reflecting happiness so kind and wise
Breaking through the silence of the dawn
In colorful twists of lemon and rose
Birth of a stillness so warm it leaves hope
Promising to reveal all the wonders of One
Who echoes peace in the spirit, like a whisper!

Your love is like the summer rain, nourishing
My soul in inspiration, imagination, illumination
Gentle flavors of mercy and grace,
Laughter that soothes the spirit and answers
Hearts who yearn with prayers
Prayed by lips who linger in kisses
Meant to sing joy through the spirit

Your love is like the dewdrop, a single tear
Blessing the petals of blooms,
Caressing the garden with miracles
Expressions of light, whimsical
Coloring the heart in hues of gentleness
Fondling the memory with nostalgia
Poured out on the mind, enraptured
By the brilliant stirring of gentle affection

Your love is like the morning
It is like the night too
It remembers and praises, preparing
Senses to reflect on the embrace
Of a silent smile, a joy, a delight
Intimacy brought to life with dreamy kindness
An appreciation for the grace, the relief
That comes alive on the heart of one who thrives
On hope, faith and love, the source from God above
For erasing all doubt and singing, shouting
Serenity through the veins, sensitivity so sweet
It imagines the honest beat of light
Rained down, like a dewy dream,
Filling up the heart with a spirit of adoration,
The assurance that His mercy and grace
Will bring passion to this place
Where we wait, amazed and expectant
Anticipating His gift of acceptance

Your love is in my heart and soul
Your love is the reason I will always know….
You are the one God sent to bring me hope
You are the one God gave to fill my heart
You are the one God sent to inspire my life
With a feeling so alive it reflects with insight…
Understanding that heals and heartens
Wisdom that always shines a light of kindness
Intuition that reminds me why I try
Your love assures me that I will always smile!

“The place of true healing is a fierce place. It’s a giant place. It’s a place of monstrous beauty and endless dark and glimmering light. And you have to work really, really, really hard to get there, but you can do it.” — Cheryl Strayed

In the shadows,
Where silence screams,
Echoing heartbeats,
Resonating what it means…

To embrace the silence,
With all its serenity and sensitivity,
Listening to the faded nights,
Harboring hope, in the softest moonlight…

In the shadows,
Where music streams,
Singing in rhythms,
Measures of hopes and dreams…

Comforting the spirits,
With love that keeps believing,
Pouring light in soothing rhythms,
Coloring stories in poetic prisms…

In the shadows,
Where birds take wing,
Stilling the moments with magnificence,
Sending the hope that will sing…

Refreshing the moments,
With kindness and energizing
Journeys through forest like fantasies,
Whispering joy on paths of memories…

In the shadows,
Where hearts learn to breath,
Silence is accompanied by the mist,
Falling from heaven, glorious and gentle…

Remembering the trembling,
Touching souls with such vitality,
Reaching past the darkness,
Into the soul’s sincerity, stimulating….

In the shadows,
Where forever stands quietly,
Still as the last snowflake,
Landing on the spirit, a feeling…

Blowing in the winds of change,
Hesitating, healing, harboring grace,
The sense of light, never to fade,
Embracing the muse of Godly praise…

In the shadows,
Where the still, cool wind vibrates,
Stands the silhouette of a truth,
Coloring the heart in rhythms of beauty….

Rising to restore, remember
What it means to believe, forever,
Flowing, the rivers of God’s blessing,
Glowing, the love that is our soul’s treasure!

In the shadows,
Love falls, still as the breath,
Who fades into a soulful expression,
The music of love, walking on the path of forever….

Glistening, joy through my soul,
Joy who knows…
Wherever I go, I will forever know
The One who brought my life hope,
The One who brought the new light,
The One who taught my soul with love,
Love that comes to those who believe…
In the ONE who died and rose,
Breathing love through those who know…
God is love and love goes on and on –
Even in the shadows, love carries on!

Premium Member An Interview with the Color Blue

So Blue, what have you been doing since my last interview with you?

Well, I still hang out (or should I say “up”) with Sky. And I’m down with oceans, rivers, lakes and seas.
However, Sky sometimes meets up with Black or Gray. That’s when I need to get away from Sky!

Well, where do you really like to be most of the time?

Gosh, that’s just difficult to say. I’m in so many bodies of water (which by the way are not these days always clear to see). I miss when I was crystal Blue in water all around the world. Anyway, I love that I get to surround the creatures of the ocean. I’m in so many things, I simply can’t choose a favorite.

Well, tell me some of your favorites then.

I enjoy being a Bluebell although I can’t ring. Humans have made plastic and metal bells of blue. Then I get to ding-a-ling. I really love to shine in stones like sapphire or of aquamarine. As a Siamese Fighting fish, I simply can’t be beat. And when as a blue jay I am on the wing, you can hear how beautifully I sing. As a peacock I feel very proud, and when I’m a blueberry, people just eat me up!

Wow, you are a part of so many things. Maybe you are Mother Nature’s favorite color.

I think perhaps I am. You could even say that I’m like God because I’m in so many places at the same time, and I’m even in some people’s eyes.

I wonder why all the colors like you are able to be in so many places at the same time just as God is said to be. What do you think, Blue?

I suppose it’s because we are a reflection of God Himself. Personally I think I am one of God’s favorite colors. Do you like me the best of creation’s colors?

Yes, I think you are really cool. I even put you in my eyes as contact lenses when I want my eye color to pop! And what’s more, you symbolize many things: freedom, imagination, the wild blue yonder, sensitivity, inspiration, and loyalty, for example.

Well, I really enjoy being called True Blue, so loyalty is big with me. However, with all the contamination these days, I am feeling really Blue, and I do not mean that in a good way.

Yep, for people you can sometimes be quite an unwanted emotion! But at the same time, many of us like to listen to you as Blues music. Keep your chin up, Blue and we’ll catch you later.

Premium Member So Do I Be

I am a child of the universe
The one to have begot, on this earth, her rightful place
I am a being made of flesh and blood
A being with a soul, with sensitivity as her ruling word

I show to the world a side of me that does not really be me
I show to the world, a woman, being yet a girl, one so bold
Fearless yet frail at the same, strong, detached
One dedicated to her duty, one who does yearn to be accepted

I show to the world, a girl bent on creativity
One who does find her peace only in works, being so literary
One who does enjoy only her own company
One who does be a loner, as well as a boring entity

But then, the one I do really be
Does be made of magic and mystery
Why, I do believe my real abode does be the skies
They do be from where I fell and to where I shall rise

I do really be overly sensitive
So much that I do show not that I do grieve
I hesitate even to forgive
Out of fear of being once more, rebuked

I do really be made of an open heart
Yes, the whole of humankind does be my sweetheart
But then, showing my empathy does be useless
See, the world itself does have an aim, so senseless

I do be still a child inside
Yes, in being pampered do I pride
For the child in me does yearn still for my carer
The one who does be my mother or yet still, my grandmother

I do be a complexity for the rest of humanity
See, I do live my life fully while claiming to be in love with spirituality
Why, of holy verses I know naught
But then, for their revival shall I fight

I do be a girl who does be high on morals
Indeed, I do live as a prudish one
Allergic to that which does be immoral
Allergic and of course, to evil, never being prone

I do be a girl yearning to be appreciated
So far, my writings have been to me, my hymns so well accorded
Pray, wish I for such to be so still
Yes, for only in such do I get a sort of artistic thrill!

I do be a girl relishing some good food
Why, of the looks of a nice pizza and a glass of wine, have I always admired
So much that for me, such does be prized
But again, a little dieting would be much needed

Pray, the side I show to the world does be only a part of what I do be
Should you want to know me
Then, you should read all of my poetry
Indeed, only in those rhymes do I bare my soul!

My imagination never takes me farther
Than the confines of my own space
Where colors in hues of azure and scarlet
Wrap around the promises of truth
That inspire me to listen to the hopes
Within my breath, where I can feel
Silence screaming in lasting lavender lights
Surrounding me with the galaxy of gifts
Guiding me through the universe’s realms
The ideas, dancing through my mind
In sweetest flow of enlightenment and kindness
An air of happiness sends astronomical
Visions to soothe me and protect me from
The harrowing experience of global warming
Where my thoughts fade into the ebony
Of a cosmos so prevailing I long to touch
Only one stroke of the grace I can pierce
With rays from a sunshine that lights up
The moments with hope and faith and love
Lasting through this life that colors us all
With crimson flow from the One who gave
Up the ghost so we might know truth
In the One who fills us up spiritually
Indwelling us with an intimate whisper of wispy
Mystery, ideas that thrive in the space
Of weightless, agile delight that frees us all
From the crimes of being alive, humanoid
Never knowing the path to the moon and stars
The planets that welcome our brilliance
With immediate and powerful willingness
To give back to our hearts, through this intensity
A drifting web, dancing with joy, insight
Into the truth of a space that leaves us all
Filled with the miracle of a truth, inspiring
Feathery wisps of knowing faith will remind
All of us, this space we take up in life
Will someday bring us the passionate promise
Of a rapture where God will answer questions
With a vibrant and lively affection that lives
To pierce our hearts with compassion that is
Like a brilliant light caressing the planets
With grace, praise and worship for the One
Who created us, them and everything that is
We are blessed to share this space under heaven
With hope for the welcoming presence
Of our heavenly caress, the gesture that tells us
God is the answer to all our life’s questions
He will someday fill us with truth and pleasure
That comes from knowing His touch, His presence
The light that comes from His holy blessings!

Premium Member His Forever Embrace

There is only ONE who knows me well enough
To silence the dark inside me, sprinkle light that decides
For me to hear the joy inspired by sun and moon,
Stars who glisten like a mirage of glitter dancing beneath
The heavens, erasing all the fears and tears
With beautiful that believes in the promises He gave,
Promises of hope that lives forever, faith that creates the
Pleasant, grace that never feels better…

There is only ONE who can assure me
That love will never forsake me, His light will never burn out
He will never fade into my memory – He’s alive
And always bringing the assurance of a peace
Beyond my wildest dreams, peace that fills me to the brim
With sensitivity, gentleness – a feeling of belief
That never leaves, believing that is forever seeing
The way through the worries and sorrows, past the doubts
Into the miracle of forever – where He is there, together
With those who know Him as Savior, those who hear
Him stirring the angel’s breath, the amazing, the prayers

There is only ONE who can bring me through the shadows
That linger on the night, dimming the joy and silencing the
Wonder – the awe that comes from knowing He is here,
A constant hope, a forever faith, grace that can only compel
The heart to listen to His promises, His scriptures and His
Miracles, who remember that God never makes mistakes –

With Him, there is eternity and He never forsakes.
With Him, there is a reason for every day
With Him, there is a second chance
With Him, there is pure grace
With Him, there is a way

There is only ONE who can take away the sins of the world
He is the inspiration for love that never doubts or dreads
This is love that is forever – faithful and so very rare
His love is like breathing the freshest air – it is eternal
It sparks the repentant prayer – making the heart and soul aware
That He is the reason we can know life eternal – love that burns
Away the doubts and leaves us with the promise that He is always there
He is the only ONE that can bring us through this life
Without fear of the death that will take us into His presence!

There is only ONE and He is the ONE I believe in.. .Jesus is my King
And my heart always sings of His glory, His grace, His forever embrace
