Heartache flows crimson with black grief
Echoing despair through the clouds of doubt
Ebony mystery colors the storm in shadows
Darkening the day with a heavy show of sorrow
Anguish that beckons to the heavens for hope
Longings for the moments when suffering was
Only a distant apprehension filled with dread
Heartache fears the melancholy shades of skepticism
Inklings of anxiety that create bitter horrors within
Moments filled with alarm, panicking the presence
Of sensitivity or courage, strength that welcomes
The chance to move from uncertainty to pleasure
Placing the pain in a cage of anticipation, promise of
Something far better that dances with exhilaration
Heartache fades the hues of life to hues of dejection
Creating trepidation among the stars that twinkle
With desire for a miracle, a gentle tug of faith and love
Whimsical pieces of the angelic visions shadowing
The way toward feelings that linger deep inside
Beneath the nightmares and phobias, the harbingers
Of something that is filled with misery and sorrow
Heartache finds a way to dampen the driest eyes
With tears of regret and sadness for all that is lost
Dismay clings to the spirit who knows only to believe
And discovers itself in a place of purest torture
Where only the discouragement and disillusion
Are capable of explaining themselves to the soul
Who knows that pain so real will haunt, even in death
Heartache filled with such angst is heartache living
In the heart who longs to die peacefully and completely
