A Kind of Hate

as a child to his mother, to you i run
but you reject me, as an illegal son

i hoped to open your arms....
and take me into your embrace
i hoped to hold your hand...
and see the smile on your face

i thought your were different...
i thought you wouldn't give me pain
i thought you loved me, i opened my heart for you....
but all was in vain, all was in vain!!

my hopes in you were so high....
and as high they were, as painful was the fall!
you made my feel that i can be loved
you made me trust you....
you made me believe in love again
but all in vain, all in vain!!

now i shall leave you, like how you left me...
i don't regret it, i don't feel guilty for it
you who started it, you lied to me
you deceived me...
and after you made me believe in love again
after you convinced me that i can be loved
after you lied to me and made me feel...
that you love me
you just left!!
like all the rest!!
you are just like them all!!
you are no different!!

i thought you'd make me forget my ugly past
i thought you'd make up for all those years....
i spent before seeing you
i thought I'd find the true love
i thought you'd never leave me
but you left me!!
just like all of them

so now i shall leave you the same way
now when you realized my value....
my worth, when you found nobody
to love you the way i did
to be kind to you, the way i was
to praise you the way i did
now you come back to me
when you realized that you can never
find somebody like me
when you realized how good and true
i was to you

now you come back
thinking I'm waiting for you!!
thinking that i would meet you...
with opened arms and take you into my embrace
to hold my hand and to see the smile on my face!
but i did just like what you did
i rejected you
just like how you rejected me
i wanted to hurt you
just like how you hurt me
i wanted to make you feel how
sad it feels, how bad it feels
so you can try the poisonous cup
you made me drink!

just leave now, i don't want you anymore
i don't love you anymore
i may be even hating you now!!
i don't want even to see, nor talk to you
i don't want even to run into you as a coincidence!
you just go away, and leave me alone again
in my dear solitude, with my dear empty life
with my dear hatred and anger and sadness
I'd rather live and die alone
than to be with somebody like you!!

Premium Member Jerusalem, the Jugular - Part One

You can't imagine what its like to march on a sacred city,
to plunder and pulverize a Peoples' promise to Deity,
demolishing centuries of lavish labor, wasting offspring of ancient heredity,
destroying flesh, scriptures and stone with a savage Roman military synergy,
a discipline determined in it's destruction of dissention, inspired by ancestral victory,
politics was not our purview, methodical punishment was our specialty,

We were War's royalty, we were Legio XV Apollonaris,
monsters of Mars, messengers of Apollo, the juggernaut of Jupiter,
along with 11 other Legions led by General Titus, 60, 000 cuts of glory we stood,
for 3 and a half years we fought through Jewish guerilla ambush
asymetrical urban warfare welting our progress like a pirate pestilence
district after district, hell spell after hell spell we bled with chilled maneuver,
the Zealots were pyromaniacs, burnt sacraficers, their zeal and our bodies zesty wood,
in the Kidron Valley they flooded the streets " knee high " with oiled water
as the Cohorts waded through the lanes leery, a torch was tossed, flames rose in rush
240 men perished like spazing stars trapped in a box, our grief agape with a horrified crush,
as reprimand, Titus made the Legate sit in a tent with his chopped off ring finger
smoldering like hot sand in the hand of a marooned man aware of error in his plan,
the insurgents had men we called Fox Tails, desperate demons who knew how Hell began,
as a skirmish succumbed to our skill and number they would run into apartments,
dragging the fury of our blades into rooms of Hades revenge, these were fire entrapments,
the buildings would blaze like windowed volcanos, screams salting us with panic linger,

It was not uncommon to discover a missing Brother Legionary
castrated, and decapitated with a headedless eagle carved upon his chest,
don't speak to me about morals and mercy for I have seen and dealt the damage of rude death
hate becomes your Father, vengence your Mother, aggravated murder your cause
when everything you revere and fear merge to make a leviathen of life,
the " Chosen People " of God became the chosen target of annihilation,
Mount Moriah, mansion of Yahweh the Pariah would become capital of Divine crucifixion,

On Monmouth's Fields, Part Ii

...He reformed the routing patriots,
formed a line atop a rise, Perrine’s Hill,
brought in General Knox and the artillery,
commanding the mass through sheer force of will.

He needed to buy time for the main force
to march on and join up in the battle,
the British kept coming, soon to attack,
convinced they still had the patriots rattled.

Before in battle the Redcoats just had
to flash their bayonets in the bright sun,
that was enough to scare Continentals
and assure them the battle was won.

But they were no longer facing such men,
the Americans had learned Europe’s game,
they did not flee at the sight of steel,
gave hard volleys once the foe was in range.

Britain’s field commander, General Cornwallis,
made several attacks to break up the line,
only to run into fire and rage,
with his Redcoats turned back every time.

They he tried to turn Washington’s left flank,
the boldest maneuver of the fight yet,
but the main force had come, and pushed forwards,
striking hard under young Lafayette.

Seeing there would be no quick victory
the British withdrew there forces back,
both armies in defensive positions,
the fight would become a long slugging match.

Soldiers hunkered down as across the fields
artillery thundered and cut loose,
both sides trying to break up the other,
their foe’s ranks they sought hard to reduce.

The heat was such that many of the men,
suffered and even died from heat stroke!
One man passed out and his wife manned his gun,
fighting on alongside all the blokes.

Then Washington sent Nathaniel Green
with artillery up towards Comb’s Hill,
a high position on the British left,
from which the guns could enfilade and kill.

The British saw their hopeless position,
and quickly began an ordered retreat,
marching north towards Clinton’s main force,
having blown their opportunity.

Washington saw his enemy leaving,
and sent Mad Anthony Wayne forward,
to harangue the British as they marched off,
cutting down men despite their good order.

And through the battle ended as a draw,
for the nation it was victory,
they’d kept the field in an open battle,
and matched the Redcoats in soldiery.

This changed the calculus of the whole war,
all knew battles would be more costly now,
England would no longer campaign in the north,
hoping for easier prey down south…

AWAKE ~ IN and OUT ~

Spring arising, before morning light,
I walk under the new epic sun
The aroma of yesterday, gone
Today's the day that will follow tomorrow
I quickly walk a certain walk
Unique is all I can display
Watery eyes staying in the past
While vehicles pass and pass
Crosses lacking faith
I stay awake and mend with my fate
Foggy toys, I want to play
I can't keep up with all your kicks
I look, I stare, at the walls
Bright and early, I step on old dolls
I stay and feel, the way you want
Lifeless, and still so full of energy
Mad words, unconscious forces
My sweet needs, now reside inside of you
Mad, sad, and outside the box
You close every door and keep me away from dark

You only allow me to feel your morning light
Why can't you let me see what's behind the shadows?
Why do you turn on all the lights?

I'm here the way you want me to be
Happy, and merry, for the world to see
This blindness will continue to spot
Unless you wake up first and remove the dot
You gave me the thirst, you once knew
So filthy, so full of -spew
Under this closed freaking door
I'm exposed like the midday sun
You bang my head on the wall,
You killed me in a way that made me feel!
I only answer to your call
In and out a hoop~ like a ball
In me, you can not find any real dreams!
Inside you filled me with a raging scream

Sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I'm in wonder around your air castle
Strange and hung on your mantle
Stepping on a one footed slave

Alert, alert Am I!!!
I shake, we kiss, I wake,
You sleep...........................
I zip all things into one zipper.
Pounding my hands against my ears
Crazy, taking a jab upon all jabs
Crazy, you say~ that's me everyday
I'm up and I caress the photo we once had
I lay only staring at you once more
I awake before I sleep
Your promises I keep
In me~ you are also in deep
My stars change everyday
Waiting for you, to pull the trigger
Still wishing to be a sun digger

You can't touch or loosen the knots
Together we will daydream our way to the top
I make your nerve system come alive,
We run into the wind and listen
Quietly in our chamber of thoughts
Near and far, we both nod off
In this daily race, with no face
No space,
I caught myself awake,
The day I fell asleep for you.

Oh To Visit the Moon.

So I began my dayfeeling rather gay and like my life was full of potential.
So set out on a journey filled with lots of exciting adventures.
I snatched the giant paper from the table along with a purple ruler and I conjourded up a
plan for my grand adventure.
This adventure is huge like nothing before and I fear the
consequences of messing up my plans for my expensive rocketship.
Yes I said a rocketship that is my grand adventure to go to the moon and meet the people.
I hear stories of these folk and I am rather intreged and that is why i find the cardboard box
big enough to hide my dreams and carry out my schemes.
To some it seems rather silly but you can call me Billy, Billy the astronaut is what they will
call me.
I grab my crayons and make my knobs and the gages under the window.
I run into the house and crab the glue so my rocketship can hold the gas that will take me to
the moon.
I put my helmet on and i open up the door.
To some this may just be a flap but to me it holds the key.
The key to a new and unfamiliar place one that I will explore.
Once i tune into the captain he gives me the go.
He counts down from ten and the adventure begins.
Once he says that magic word my rocketship takes off.
I soar into the sky way up high and i way good bye to my mommy and cry just a little tear.
I fear that these people might find my coulture so unique.
Find me rather odd and attach tubes to both my feet.
They will read my mind and find my rocketship is small, they send me home with a
boy name Joe and off to my house we go.
Once we arrive it all is very clear "Billy the Astronaut" they cry "you have come back alive!"
I scream "I am not alone this is my new friend Joe! Joe is from the moon you see and has
come to teach us things.
Things that will save our world lets all greet him with peace!"
They all smile and greet my new friend.
My rocketship has been lots of fun and now i have come to know, just how much fun one
Can have when he thinks of fun.
My rocketship is in my room awaiting its next trip.
I love my rocketship you see so next we'll go to Mars and Ill bring my friends the stars.
The stars from mars my rocketship will make this possible.
So I smile happily
For I am Billy the Astronaut and the people all love me.

Unspoken Words Ii - Travel

Tick tock and watch the clock move back into the past. Let's enter a time machine and run into the past or step back into the future who knows? Let's go to a time where you and I were so equal we were considered as one. Let's go to those times when we were so high the sky seemed like the ground. Let's reminisce on those times that we went so deep you thought a bottomless pit was shallow. Let's... Let's Travel.

There was a time when I wanted to be your past, present and future but sadly you never thought that far. All you thought about is what benefited you. Whether I win or lose as long as you are happy that's all that matters. Well sadly tunnel vision only shows you a way forward not a way out. You never considered all possible outcomes, other ways to satisfy your needs. I know I'm a boy a woman can make a man of. I know I'm a boy that would stay up with you just to see a smile on your face. I know I'm a boy that can see the light in you within your darkest moments. I know... I know we can Travel.

I honestly thought our relationship would reach ground-breaking heights, but then we all know that you can't spell trust without "us." Did you know that success only comes before work in the dictionary? You were in such a rush to reach the top and I never understood why. You doubted me when I told you let's work and we'll succeed? You doubted the fact that just because we were not from the same world we couldn't reach an equilibrium. You doubted what I felt for you. You doubted... You doubted me when I said let's Travel.

They say a mistake is only a mistake if you learn from it. So if you do it twice what do you call it? A hobby? Cause it looks like you found a new hobby in being unfaithful. I heard that everyone deserves a second chance but do you deserve a third one? I don't know. Question: Will you ever find another person like me? You might someone who looks like me, but he's not me. You might find someone who laughs like me, but he's not me. You might find someone who holds you like me, but he's not me. Hell, you might find someone who cares, just like I did, but he's not me. We were supposed to be Romeo and Juliet. We were supposed to have a future together. We were meant to love one another. Hell, we were meant to die side by side. We... We were meant to Travel.

User Response Poem: 51st Street

Someone saw me digging through the trash this morning
And gave me five bucks
The embarrassed gin-mace of the nursing home volunteer
Plastered to his face
For the three seconds I could see it
Before he looked away

Everyone is more human than you'd imagine in these streets

So I bought two Blacks and a Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar
And I watched the candy wrapper blow into the drainage ditch
And I picked up a lighter someone had dropped on the ground
One those cheap, translucent ones that will melt
If you keep the flame burning too long
And I made my way back to the place where I sleep

Everyone is more human than you'd imagine in these streets

At the intersection, I run into Mike
Flying the, "Hungry" sign that I'd watched him make
With some recycled cardboard and a jumbo Sharpie
On the floor of my abandoned-building living room
Because he was hungry
And KFC hadn't thrown away anything edible in days

Everyone is more human than you'd imagine in these streets

Wiping my fingers of my snack's melted remains onto the cutoff denim
That I've been wearing for six days
I round the corner and see J trying to shake off the cops
That have him pinned against the security fence around our camp
Ryan tells me he has a warrant and an eight-ball of speed in his pocket
Sucks, he was supposed to see his daughters tomorrow

Everyone is more human than you'd imagine in these streets

When it's safe, I slip into my sparsely insulated corner of a Texas July
Sweating from the core-heat I've trapped against a discarded mattress
And remembering that I used to look at us
The way Five-Dollar-Dude looked at me this morning
Before I learned the hard way that we're just seeking some of the comfort
Enjoyed by the very condo-dwellers who frustrate our ability to obtain it

Everyone is more human than you'd imagine in these streets

And I'm not saying everyone out here is a saint
But I am saying if you need a dollar or a cigarette
You've got better odds asking someone camping under the overpass
Than someone with one hand on the door of their Lexus
And the other one smoking a Marlboro Red
And I think when you don't have anything, that Marlboro can tell you a lot

Reality of Mortality

Each cock that crows in the morning
mourns the death of dusk.
The silent sunrise reminds sages of the
reality of human mortality.
Thirsty, mother-earth drinks the teardrops
from the soiled skies;
ever hungry, the garden feasts on feeble leaves
from trees in autumn;s wake.
Each new moment dances with radiant rays,
only to be nailed on a nocturnal cross
when shadows betides.
Every being with blood and breath
entered a pact with vanity before birth;
Human existence is a sacred script
scribed with an invisible ink...
writing nothing on something.

The reality of yesterday
cannot rid today of its obscurity,
uncertainty sweetly sleeps in the
womb of... time to come,
time and chance melt into memories,
memories that roam in the human mind.
Years, months and days distil
into sweet and sorry stories.

Moments is what life offers us
on a platter of preference:
a time to live and a time to leave
this world of wealth and want;
seasons stop by to sigh--
weather whispers words of wisdom.
we are who we are; the earth
exists in spaces and stratas.
The sinking sand on which we stand
is willing and waiting,
it will take nothing from us
but that which we cannot afford:
Nothing but the dignified dust that we are.

I know two mindless weights
that make all things equal:
Twenty-four-hours-a-day and
six-feet under mother-earth.
Alas, there are two dates not
hidden from the lustful gaze of fate:
when the womb opens the
narrow gate to human existence
and when the tomb opens wide
the gate to extinction… afterlife.
There is going to be a word on the marble
that we will not live to write or read,
Yet it will be a concise piece of our deeds;
all what we wrote on life.
Time and chance will knock again
and again on the door of destiny;
So, cloister your memoir with courtesy
while you yet live in this frail field.
Only few men crave the den of darkness,
dust and ashes, but it is the truth is
that all men will run into it at a point in time;
There is a time to be born
and a time to bid life farewell,
Twain moments that sandwich the opportunity
...to live for humanity or live in mediocrity.

Premium Member Marion's Return

As Marion trod the old familiar path
leading to the river of her childhood,
she viewed the willow tree across the river
and recalled with clarity
the event that changed her life
half a century ago - that memory
which for all her adult life
she‘d managed to suppress . . .

She was being chased by Ellie down the path;
Ellie, the fair haired younger sister
favored by their father
and wearing the golden pendant he had given her
when she’d won a spelling bee.
Yanking the pendant from her sister’s neck,
Marion ran into the river’s icy water,
threatening to throw the pendant in.
Screaming, Ellie followed right behind.
Farther into the river’s center, the two girls moved.
Where the riverbed dipped sharply,
Ellie had caught up.

Suddenly the wind blew violently,
The chain with its beautiful pendant
slipped from Marion’s hand
into the swirling water.
Ellie tottered, falling backwards.
Then the river was carrying
Marion’s little sister to the other side.
Marion called out, but Ellie did not answer.
A strong swimmer, Marion swam
to her sister’s lifeless body
on the opposite bank where a nearby willow stood -
witness to her crime.

Marion now was standing where she once had stood
that fateful day. The river had receded with time,
but its current was still strong.
She stood recalling her parents’ bitter tears
and how she had escaped their wrath
inventing her own version of the truth -
that Ellie had run into the water by herself
when the sudden wind came up
causing her demise.
She felt bad, but in the end,
she became her father’s newfound pride and joy.

Something glittered at the water’s edge.
Marion, now heavy and clumsy with age,
moved closer to see. Could it be after all these years?
Yes, it was the pendant, shining in the river’s sludge!
She stooped to pick it up, but lost her balance,
falling forward toward the slanting floor.
As she struggled, a great gust of wind
moved her out. . .farther and farther to the middle.
Before her head vanished below the water’s surface,
she saw that old willow’s leaves flutter angrily.
She could almost swear she saw the form of Ellie,
fair sweet Ellie, beckoning her from the other side.

I must think fast. My house is on fire and I'll have 16 minutes at the most
to decide what I will save!

For sure, I will rescue the computer, or the flash drive at the very least. That is number one, for this represents a great number of hours I have spent creating poetry.

The second thing is my photos. I've saved most of them in albums, and there are many! I'll have to grab them up in armfuls and make two trips back and forth to get them out!

Third, I really should not forget paper documents: proof of birth and house ownership, certificates, checks, etc. To get those things redone is a huge hassle, and luckily, I have them all in one big box.

What next? I think I will grab up my jewelry, especially my rings with precious stones that I love so much. Bracelets, earrings and necklaces too. I'll toss them all into one big bag and worry about sorting them later!

I've used up at least ten minutes of my time by now. Next I will try to rescue my clothes. There are too many of them to save them all, but I will grab up my favorites, yanking them from hangers and taking them to my lawn in big piles. I'll use the hamper to carry them in!

After clothing comes shoes! Of my many pairs, I need only to save a few which are my very favorites and my two most comfortable pairs which I wear the most often.

Finally, I have arrived at the final thing! Most of the sixteen minutes to get stuff out of my house has disappeared by now, so I will run into my kitchen and grab up my supplements along with any healthy nutrition bars and dark chocolate, all kept in my pantry. I will just shove them all into a large box and get my butt out of the house.

Whew!! The fire truck is here now. I am praying all my favorite nic nacs, books and old records will somehow be preserved! I can always get new sheets, blankets, furniture and televisions, but the things I most cherish are the things I grabbed first to take out of the house, especially those things irreplaceable such as photographs and my poetry!

And what did I learn from this little exercise? Well, I really need to have all my favorite things previously organized into big boxes which are easy to carry!
