Premium Member I Was a Jump, Skip and a Hop

i ignored their existence, except for one snapshot.
i didn’t know you could shop. i was not caught

up in the spiral, the velocity, the thunder to the top.
where was i? i was a jump, skip and a hop

away from eternity. it was burning, all the rage.
the celebrants would ne’er more celebrate, engage.

the cliffhanger, daring the edge, dizzy with foresight.
the ground crew was looking up. their brains fight

the visual - the movie reel unseemly, incomprehensible.
the towers of ash, the twisted homicides reprehensible.

i visit the plot, tour the cascading depths of living hell.
the rose scent, the ascent of grim, the mourner’s bell.

the snapshot in my grasp. my skeleton shivers in my bed.
i’ll never peek, and yet, i did. racks of suits in my head.

i ignored their existence, resistant to the absence of beauty.
the empire state building, more iconic, wasn’t sooty.

it wasn’t until i left, the liftoff of skull to heels, the rudiment
of disaster keeled and the knell sounded too distant.

i see my sister lifting off, one mere month, before
the floor was taken out from underneath their score.

the visual i’d not have endured. how did the families manage?
the stair master firemen and executive suites at a disadvantage.

it’s gone the wrong way. no one should deplane through windows.
no more opportunity to advance, for romance, to become heroes.

well, yes, perhaps to become heroes - a jarring thought,
not long-lived. they’re exclamation points, periods, not caught.

thoughtless, pointless, jaws drop one-hundred and ten floors
more or less. sifting through papers and effects, shutting doors.

The Tracks of Forlorn

The gravel is new, freshly laid,
The boundaries bordered by fences we've made,
Walking along in my tarseled feet,
In the dark of the night and midsummer's heat,

I look at the tracks and feel the horn,
The world at my back and all of their scorn.
The train passes by on ridges of steel,
Shaking the ground and all I feel.

It rolls along as the ground surely shakes,
The peace is shattered as my mind itself quakes.
Stress of the mind feels like torrents of sin,
As the wind rushes by pushed from the lead engine.

Memories flash by as trains eat up steel,
Running through mind like an old movie reel.
I've lived and I've loved, but memories are torn,
Like the train of my mind on tracks of forlorn.

I've stood and I've felt,
Pondering now the cards I'd been dealt,
In the dead of the night and train's aftermath,
The silence is deaf'ning on the cold gravel path.

Penned.In.Mission

A Rhyme come now at this Great Time,
Known to all from long ago as a dream,
Premonitions were named as screams
and the Vision was failed to reveal.The Reel...
has turned and Reality burns a new Light.
It's called laugh a little and grow some sight.

The balancing of an Elemental.Penned a
Mission so simple.... Euclid.eUs.ly ridiculous
as a Matter of factual and it was so theoretical
to be taken toooo scientifically serious, but it was.
Grab it see, said Real.activity it's just as in.sane
as the insanity of this poetry, but....

"Euclid's axioms seemed so intuitively obvious..."
they said while my head exploded into sum
gravitationally upside down formation of my
eyes which made me realize that it's all just a
pycho.delicately. bright trip anyway...

So I turned the page and read the comics.instead.
Now, had they said it was Lucid.Reticuli.ously ridiculous...
Perhaps even lick smackin' deliciously.kissable.ish...
I might'a believed it. But language is just relative anyway.

Duck Dodgers now there's a true explorer of the Mind
with his flat feet ninja warrior lisping beak of a tweaked
out brain. Yes, that Cat was in the sane for sure and
when he and his side.kick would make sushi? Well,
that's when the Universe just had to step up and take
sum notice. Penned.in.a.Mission a duck billed notion
of Motion in a vacuum... seriously, who's driving
us back from this expedition?

lol!! I hope you enjoy the ride, I think we're lost....

And this is dedicated to my friend who made
me curious to look up Euclidean Geometry. ;)

I accepted your challenge Jedi.Master.WordCrafter...
and now here I yam. lol. with my spinage.
I thank you for the inspiration. Grand Qi.baca

Thank God Im Still Here

there was high winds blowing at the end of the day
so we had to secure the pipe so it wouldnt blow away
pulling on the comealong with all my might
i think the chain snapped cause it wasnt fixed right
... backwards i stumbled very scared
as that beam slammed in the back of my head
knowing i was a hunderd and twenty feet off the ground
i tryed to grab hold to anything around
unduncontroling flipping over the gaurd reel
thank God almighty i went through the stairwell
way up there all i could do is scream
falling fifty feet down hitting beam after beam
trying to grab on anything i can to live
hitting the first beam and breaking my ribs
then i heard this awful crack
as i flipped over and hit the next one in the middle of my back
i had that beam but lost my grip
bam! the next beam right on my hip
still very awake hoping this would come to a halt
i land face first on a steel catwalk
then i hear voices comming from way up high
yelling dont move im trying to figure out why
i hear my brotherin law sounding like he wanna cry
i look to the left and say whats that? he says your eye
as the pain hits i realize im still alive
i hear someone say i dont know how he survived
with so much time passin i began to panic
then minutes later i hear the paramedics
yellin we cant get this gurnny up those stairs
we're going to have to carrie him from way up there
four guys hoist me up thank God they were stout
because it was at that moment when i passed out
i awaken at the hospital cause the light was so bright
i see my wife cryin and screaming is he gone be alright
i try to listen with blood drizzling from my ear
the doctor tells her maam we cant do nothing for him here
as i passed out i assume they took immediate actions
from what i hear they helicoppered me all the way to jackson
i soon awake after all the sugeries and things.
doctors saying im lucky after a few broken bones &losing my kidney and spleen
i see all my family with tears in their eyes
mom thanking god i was still alive
my wife standing with a face full of cheer
also thanking god that im still here
people look at me now and say youre so lucky i think how odd
for i know i would not be here i not for God

Premium Member NIGHT FISHERMAN

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I drift off to sleep, casting my nets into the dark,
where thoughts dart silver, quick and wild~
a phosphorescent bloom of sharks,
the glint of something half-defiled.
They rise like soup, these shapeless things,
half-snail, half-song, half-broken wheel,
with moth-wing sighs and piano strings
that hum the tunes I cannot feel.
The catch tonight? A tooth, a key,
a lost lover’s face dissolved to mist,
the weightless thrum of what might be
entwined tight with what does not exist.
I reel them in—my surreal prize~
all writhing light with fevered ink,
then wake to find them in my eyes,
still sinking, soft, and blurred at brink.
Premium Member Fancy's Flight
From cracks above, lightning explodes
A deranged sea rattling the mast;
Hanging on  between  life and doom
My fate near water’s rim, harassed
When darkness hides the palest star.
Just then, a silhouette appears
Long the tresses, eyes deeply creamed
Ready to meet the tempest’s dare…
In one bolt, a ship wreck redeemed
Calming the dread upon my face.
Against a current's dauntless reel,
The buoyant glide of milder waves
Recedes through siren’s drawl that lures,
That an angry gust now behaves
As she steers me ashore, then leaves.
I wake to feel a heady scent
Recalling tastes of Galene’s night,
Until dream-catcher’s web unfolds
To snap me back from fancy’s flight…
Yet in my head, her mystique heaves.
Premium Member Why We Write
Inspired by, but not written for
A Contest
When He looks up at a tree
Do you know what Peter sees
It's poetry so strong
Standing, lean stretching long
Against a winter breeze
So he must write
When Andy spies a brook
He can make us take a look
By writing it all down
'Cause it's poetry he's found
An urge he cannot fight
When Richard's feeling pain
To him, It'd be insane
Not to penn poetic verse
Writing nothing would be worse
Than sitting lonely in the night
When Olive thinks of Love
And the Angels high above
It's poetry She feels
And the words begin to reel
And lets us see the light
When Tim walks down a street
There are people that he meets
In rain and windy weather
Just like poetry together
There goes another cyber byte
When Skat looks deep inside
Where her poetry abides
She feels compelled to share
So we can learn to love and care
While Her Thoughts are taking flight
When I read the written word
I hear a voice, that can't be heard
It speaks poetry to me
And I can not let it be
While I'm visiting this site
Sure, there's other things, we do
This is very true
But in our heart, we're just Poets
And on this page, we're bound to show it
With all our might
Premium Member I Want To Love You
I want to love you the way
You’ve never been loved
I know the load that you carry
My woman’s intuition tells me
There are dreams that you often bury
I want to love you the way
You were meant to be loved
The way you only dream of
Where there is no shame and no remorse
Where all is sweet nurture and love
I want to love you the way
That my heart is demanding
The way that will make you reel
I want to caress and undress and express
In opulent luxury feel
I want to love you
I want to make love to you
I want my softness to cover your soul
I want you to know you are loved and adored
With my body I’ll make you feel whole
I want to love you
I want to make love to you
I want you to taste my healing kiss
With my tongue and my hands I want to possess
And lead you to your desired bliss
I want to love you….
Oh, how I want to love you….
Premium Member No Sequel To This Movie
Lights out and all is dark, except...
this darkness is not what you'd expect.
No movie in a blackened theater.
It's your script. You, the director and creator.
In your own bed,
scenes playing over in your head.
Some make you laugh,
some tear you in half,
too many make you cry.
Seeing your life passing by
in reel after reel...
How does it make you feel
to see events from the past,
ones you thought would last,
until you read the words,
       "THE END"
No more love scenes of pretend.
Actors walking off the set...regret.
No sequels to be shot.
No new twists in another plot.
   Run the credits?
       Forget it.
The theater is black
there's no going back.
          C u t!                          That's a wrap.
Premium Member One Meal Ill Never Forget
Dedicated to Kyle, my son ... my smile
I recall many unique meals of special appeal
but one dinner replays on a fav memory reel
that I shall never forfeit or agree to forget.
This meal was years ago yet still remains clear.
I will not err as I share about this meal so dear:
1.	One box of complete HELPER contents
2.	Two six-ounce cans of tuna that to item one are lent
3.	One can of lima beans as chosen by ingredient number four
4.	One eight-year-old son excited for cooking fun
Once ingredients were gathered and patience near battered
from repeatedly explaining all preparations while choking
frustrations at ingredient four's refusal to voice them over
and over for maternal perusal, it was time to pretend with
a bent peace of mind that cooking could begin.  I know,
because this is when four said with nervy ease, 'Out the
door until I'm ready to serve.  Please.'
While waiting, cardiacs were avoided so dinner wasn't aborted
before four, smiling grand, served the tray held in his hands.
All dismay was forced to abate while viewing the plate.
Four's enthusiasm should not be parent zapped
just because he served unknown brown and red crap.
A smile was forced as he explained that he spiced it up
by adding his own creatively thought up stuff,
Chocolate Sheen Beans and Cinnamon Bazooka Tuna.
