Teenage Mother

"Teenage Mother"

She had it all
A very bright tomorrow
She always smiled
Though broken internally.
All was rosy...
Until she stopped listening
To the voices of reason
We blame it all on adolescence
That girl was gone for good.
She started smoking
Boys were the only thing she understood more than any subject
Broken friendships
Many wrong choices.
She lost the most important key in life.........Education!
Her mother died from depression
An invisible father
She was now on her own...
Pregnant at fifteen
How can a toddler look after another toddler ?
When the baby cried,so was the mother.
She needed money for pampers, milk ,napkins and rent,
So she traded her body for a piece of bread and chicken change.
It was all over for her at sixteen,
She watched as her peers enjoyed the gift of youth
So many regrets,yet no solutions.
Another baby in her belly
Disease in her veins
Alcohol in her breath
She died at eighteen
What will happen to the lives left behind?

I Need You

Hold me closer when I seem too nervous to take a step forward;
Sit me down; talk to me like your own.
Breathe with me that I may believe in myself,
Tell me that everything is going to be just alright within the shortest time possible.

Sometimes, when my knees tremble and I fall to the ground,
Give me your hand, take my hand and pick me up to stand again.
When frailty comes my way and I cry and swear never to try again,
Whisper softly to me that giving up isn't the solution we need here.

When I'm carried away by the influence of my group; peer pressure,
Give me a wink as a silent warning and reminder that I shouldn't let my guard down.
Even as I try to deceive that I'm fine like I usually do just to fit amongst you,
Say it to me that it is actually okay to be okay.

You are my friend,and I am your friend;
I give you all the rights and responsibilities to take care of me like your baby.
Watch over me like my nanny, be my pointer to the right direction;
And even as I stand lonely along a lonely path, don't leave my side.

I do not know what tomorrow has in store for me;
I'm only made by the potter who decides how long I'm to last.
Promise me now, that even in my absence,
You shall not erase my name from your heart and memory.

When such catastrophy befalls me and I'm unprepared,
Vow to me that you will put my house back to order,
And carry on from wherever I will have stopped.
Look after my little prince and princess like they were your flesh and blood.

I'm stuck with you and I'm not going to let go of you,
This is what you signed up for when you made me a part of you.
Therefore, never get tired of my tears wetting your shoulders,
And don't hesitate to ask me for any favors.

Whenever you need me,feel free to let me know that I may gladly help.
Let's agree that it is one of the rules, that secrets are strictly forbidden here.
Take my hand and together,let us face the trials with confidence;
And as success pops up in our midst, dance with me as we celebrate.

Premium Member Another Day Passes

Another day passes
Another day he is gone
Taken from his loved ones
From the place where he belonged

He should be at their side
With his kids and his wife
Another casualty of war
The waste of another life

In front of his marble headstone
The grass wetted by her tears
She lies down saying i miss you
And i will love you for all my years

Our twins will always remember you
For i will tell them every day
Your words they will never hear
But i will say to them, what you would say

   Look after your mother
And you mother will look after you
For i will be looking down
Through clouds and skies of blue

   Always be there for her
And she will be there for you
Family love will be your bond
In future years it will see you through

Many days have passed
Our twins have grown with pride
We all miss you so much my darling
For you were always by our sides

Premium Member Our Poet, Mr Michael Jordan

Many a tribute is written
Only the writer knows why
The reason I'm writing this
He could have been goodbye

This Bakersfield boy
Smith Corner he graced
To lose his mother at 4
A young soul misplaced

Loving Grandparents
Filled an empty void
For the loss of a parent
Internal destroy

High School reached
Hooked on drugs
Degenerating body
Societies bug

He ended up here
And also there
To the age of 41
In hazed stare

An Angel was released
To look after her son
As he rose from his prayer
His new life begun

Then came the day
A son was reborn
In a town called Willows
The end of his storm

Another two Angels appeared
Michaela and Antoinette
His future path laid
All three, truly set

Mr Michael Jordan
I think your grand
You help your past
Now that's a stand

A leader, a gent
Poet and dude
To shake your hand
I wish i could

My tribute to a wonderful person whose life story always moved me.

Best Friends

Best friends last forever they do

While best friends also are always true

They don’t lie and they don’t hate

They usually aren’t even late

They keep you out of trouble and look after you

Lots of people---if they have best friends---are very few

They stick up for you when you’ve been bad

They cheer you up and make you glad

They talk to you when you need to vent

God grants you those ones, they’ve been sent

They spend the night when you’re alone

They walk you to your house when you have to go home

They call you on the telephone

When your scared and all alone

They don’t talk bad behind your back

Because people who do that are very whack

They call you up and invite you to a party

They call you before school to make sure your not tardy

They invite you out to hang with friends

Sometimes best friends even make amends

They cry with you, they smile with you

They could be named, Pam, Jennifer, or Lou

They could be males or females, animals, or fish, too

They don’t fight and usually don’t disagree

They don’t make you beg or plea

They invite you out to eat some food

Their always around to cheer up your mood

Although my best friend is very far

He is my brightest shining star

I talk to him almost everyday

I love him in virtually every way

Together soon we will be

Next year we’ll be putting up our first Christmas Tree

We’ll work out together, I know it

Because my shining star has finally become lit

Premium Member What If God Said

What if God said
“I cannot love you all.”
“you will have to toughen up,
look after each other,
love one another.”

                            “What!!! How can I love
                             as He?”

“Oh, God”, said God,
“have you learned nothing”
“are you still consumed
by looks, and feelings,
by crusted credos?”

                           “But I do not understand
                            their words, their moods,
                            their beliefs?”

“Nor do they, yours”
“For you are they
and they are you.”

“Would you shun the hungry child?”
“Leave bare the naked babe?”
“Lock your heart to its presence?”

What if God said:
“I cannot love you all
why can’t you all love
one another?”

Premium Member Manx Gas

They are going to put up the prices
But say we will hardly notice the cost
They plan to increase the standing charges
But spread them out so we can’t see what we’ve lost

The standing charge it will increase
But the cost of the gas will go down
When the meter reader arrives
I guess he may start to frown

For people won’t be able to use any gas
They will struggle to pay the standing charge
Some will put on another blanket and jumper
And wish that they lived on a barge

It’s the old folks I feel sorry for
Their pension provisions hardly rise
It’s fuel or food – which should they choose
It really is cause for alarm

Manx Gas has the monopoly
There is no other provider we can choose
Folks may consider switching to oil heating
Then Manx Gas are going to lose

Suppliers need to look after their customers
Without them they may go bust
So use your voice – we have a choice
Vote with your feet find someone you trust

Honest Truths

The world has never been smaller,
we’re making strides for peace,
bonds of trade and the internet
bring us closer, at least.
an age where the old armed conflicts
may finally be no more—

(If your really want a lasting peace,
prepare yourselves for war)

It’s our job to make sure people
do not slip through the cracks,
the state can step up and provide
for folks who sorely lack.
Socialism can look after
the forgotten of the earth—

(One hundred million dead agree,
this idea never works.)

Our age of great equality
rewards the female sex,
women have taken the workplace,
what will they take on next?
The barriers that still remain
will know the righteous fight—

(Yet no job brings fulfillment like
raising up the kids right.)

We’re taking on the patriarchy,
demonize toxic males!
All men who follow their nature must
be attacked without fail.
Don’t they know that it’s a new day,
both feminine and wise—

(When men aren’t allowed to be men
Civilizations die.)

Let us make peace in the Middle East,
they’re all misunderstood,
their faith is no different than ours,
it’s done a lot of good.
Let’s tolerate the Islamist,
it’s time to heal these scars—

(Why don’t you ask a Yazidi girl
how ‘tolerant’ they are?)

We’re building a safer world,
it’s not the wild west,
to speak of firearms is wrong,
even if done in jest.
All the right folk agree with this,
anyone with a brain—

(The day that you give up your guns
is the day you wear chains.)

A woman should not be made to
carry unwanted kids,
and there should be no question if
she wants to abort it.
You see it’s just a clump of cells,
we know this to be true—

(Now imagine if your own mother
put the forceps to you.)

“How long has he been here?” said the other voice which Dumpty could see now that the dawn light started to grow, belonged to a largish Owl perched on a tree branch, near the sleeping cat. “Oh, I dragged him in just the other day” replied Dumpty, “the poor thing he was holding onto that large green flagon over there, could hardly get a word out of him he just nodded most times, and he has a glazed look in his eyes, I would say he has been deeply traumatized.” “How is he normally?” “‘Oh he is a most cheerful soul, full of energy, helpful to others and so
on; and he can be quite brave, I can remember when the clog-dancing Dutch mouse, fell down the stair.. she had to have bed rest for 2 weeks, well he volunteered to look after her kids and he did! As it so happens Siegfried and Roy were touring, well one of their panthers got into the backyard of the mouse family’s home and he was there pegging out some washing you know one of those young mice came down the back steps and the panther headed toward it... well this guy here he sorta made every hair on his body stand out stiff he looked over twice his size, and then quick as a wink he jumped on that bad ole panther, he jumped on his head and got his claws up its nose, he hung on like glue while I flew off to raise the alarm, poor old puss here took some punishment but he saved that young mouse alright, and that old panther looked really the worse for wear when he was recaptured” well I can see he does not like bullies observed Dumpty with a note of admiration in his voice, I do so hope he gets well I
would like to get to know him..!

Premium Member When I Was a Lad

When I was a Lad
by Bob Moore

I still remember, when I was a lad
the head of the house, was the one we called dad
he’d go off to work, and mam would keep house
look after the kids, be quiet as a mouse

He’d come home when shift ended, and sit in his chair
wasn’t much said, cuppa tea waiting there
mam did all the washing, the cleaning and such
no TV, no internet, not very much

Sometimes, if she had to, a part time job she’d get
selling tickets at Belle Vue, or maybe the Met
or at the Apollo, in Ardwick Green
the Hippodrome too, some stars there, she’d seen

or the Midland Hotel, up on Hyde road
to make a quid, and pay what we owed
us kids didn’t know this, we all just played
and if mam and dad worked, at the neighbours we stayed

we knew all the neighbours, and we would just roam
until the street lights came on, then we’d go home
mam would be waiting, or sometimes it was dad
I remember those times, when I was a lad.
