I Need You
Hold me closer when I seem too nervous to take a step forward;
Sit me down; talk to me like your own.
Breathe with me that I may believe in myself,
Tell me that everything is going to be just alright within the shortest time possible.
Sometimes,when my knees tremble and I fall to the ground,
Give me your hand,take my hand and pick me up to stand again.
When frailty comes my way and I cry and swear never to try again,
Whisper softly to me that giving up isn't the solution we need here.
When I'm carried away by the influence of my group; peer pressure,
Give me a wink as a silent warning and reminder that I shouldn't let my guard down.
Even as I try to deceive that I'm fine like I usually do just to fit amongst you,
Say it to me that it is actually okay to be okay.
You are my friend,and I am your friend;
I give you all the rights and responsibilities to take care of me like your baby.
Watch over me like my nanny, be my pointer to the right direction;
And even as I stand lonely along a lonely path, don't leave my side.
I do not know what tomorrow has in store for me;
I'm only made by the potter who decides how long I'm to last.
Promise me now,that even in my absence,
You shall not erase my name from your heart and memory.
When such catastrophy befalls me and I'm unprepared,
Vow to me that you will put my house back to order,
And carry on from wherever I will have stopped.
Look after my little prince and princess like they were your flesh and blood.
I'm stuck with you and I'm not going to let go of you,
This is what you signed up for when you made me a part of you.
Therefore,never get tired of my tears wetting your shoulders,
And don't hesitate to ask me for any favors.
Whenever you need me,feel free to let me know that I may gladly help.
Let's agree that it is one of the rules, that secrets are strictly forbidden here.
Take my hand and together,let us face the trials with confidence;
And as success pops up in our midst,dance with me as we celebrate.
