Until Blood Is Spilt

when one stands up against injustice
when one spits in the face of those that oppress &
shows not one ounce of fear in their eyes
often, if fortunate, standing amidst others who have come to
the same conclusion,
at first, it is like a joke being told at a comedy club
where there isn’t even a drink minimum---
for the need for customers is so drastic,
the club doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers by
asking at least that as a price for sitting all night
under a roof & listening to comedy.

as the plague of convention
spreads like the contagion that it so blatantly is,
more come to the conclusion of the initially brave
(and to many, thought to be the initially “insane”)---
people begin to see that things are being done wrong to them
as well,
and suddenly, because others have already put their lives on the line
in order to lock arms & fight
what they no longer think can be ignored,
this kindling gives way to a larger fire
which soon spreads on its own,
counteracting the wall of poisonous status-quo, complacence &
all out submission to the will of those that
feel that they are unstoppable,
offering not a crumb to the individuals challenging them &
still, the seriousness of the matter is not fully understood
by those which have become desensitized to any possibility of
actual change in their lifetime.

as the fire continues to grow & spread, becoming fiercer with
every gust of wind, ever new addition to the flames,
those that felt unstoppable begin to question their own ability
to crush the fire,
if they deem it out of hand,
that is, if their kingdom is on the fringe of being
invaded---
and it will come,
the bludgeoning of the spreading fire will be one of never before seen
ferocity,
for examples have to be made,
in order for those in power to prove that they still have power &
blood will be spilt, in fact,
blood is being spilt as this writer types
(little puddles now, written off as “unruly dissidents,” only foreshadowing a river of blood leading to a vast ocean).

it is the spilling of blood which ignites the last few,
those that thought it would all blow over &
that their lives could stay pretty much the same,
if they just stuck it out---
when friends, relatives and neighbors begin to bleed,
be it through destruction of property, incarceration, injury or death,
the once comfortable are forced to open their eyes &
decide which side they're on.

A Tangled Web of Lies

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
Can't help but to recall this famous quote from Sir Walter Scott...
When one reads the latest revelations on the financial scandal that is 1MDB...
Touted as a sovereign fund to help the economy of the Malaysian Nation...
What has been revealed so far is a tangled web of deception for the nation...

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
At the onset of of the saga of 1MDB, it was a sovereign fund entity....
It sourced for billions and billions in cash money for seed capital initially....
Taking out monstrous loans using guarantees from the government...
No red flags were raised, despite reservations from the management...
When the numero uno signatory is the Finance Minister himself...
And it being so he is also the Prime Minister, who is to question...

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
The wheels of international justice are turning, investigations are revealing..
Convoluted money trails of obscenely huge amounts to the tune of billions..
From Singapore to Switzerland to Luxemburg to Australia to the United States..
And a couple of other countries with highly principled banking standards...
Are seeking to unravel the this global money scandal with the highest stakes..
Wall Street Journal expose is churning out scandalous information of the investigations..
While in the home country of Malaysia, political warlords brush off all revelations..

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
A single plea of innocence was well propped up with tales of donation...
As gifted from individual or individuals, ultimately from a dead Arabian King..
Stalwart political warlords were nevertheless resolute in defending...
As a much tainted political leader wisely maintains a eloquent silence...
Even as political foes and the knowing public cry out their frustrations...
Horrified and anxious over the repercussions from this 1MDB financial cancer..

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!

Super Hero Chadwick Boseman

Any one can be super
Try being a hero
Let me explain
You initially lose more
Than you gain
But the strength you carry
Makes you gain
And you have no room left to complain
The outcome the Impact
The way people react makes you proud
Saving the world one person one family at a time
During these unpredictable times
Giving peace and faith
That we can still run this race
And you did it so well
With dignity and grace
We face so many things
Some never have been heard
You hold on to his Word
Have you heard
Have you seen the light
In individual eyes
To know that like bread
We still will rise
Not just in dough
We will rise eternally though
Touching lives who seemed lifeless
That kind of impact is priceless
Paving the way
For others
Sticking together sister and brothers
Loving one another more than ever
You see that is a power so clever
Levels to success
Giving your all trying your best
To impress
A world who has lost its value
Lost its way
Still empowering letting others know everything is going to be ok
We all are fighting our own battles
Shaking , breaking down
To a world that is no longer found
No longer bold
Government trying to have control
Stop take it back
Superhero you are on track
Be great be amazing
Be you , that's what the world is craving
There would be no one without another
Super
My heroes start lifting up each other
No matter what
Keep pushing keep pressing
One power that I hope would vanish is stressing
For it's a blessing to have something unique
As yourself
And for once you don't have to be anyone else
But this unique individual
Is a prized possession
Who has overcome overcame
Our Ancestors would be proud
For our voice to heard loud
Chad you and so many others have paved the way
Wakanda forever is what I'll say
Your message to the world
Is to be water then the seeds and the root
Be the stomp on the ground of a giant boot
Footprints are left
That we are honored to walk
You did more than talk
You lived out your vision
That was wise a great decision
Be the root, then be the soil
Be the water that boils
Be on fire
Be hot
It's our world
Give it all you got
The pearly gates you have been chosen
Rest in Power King

Premium Member The Beauty of Nothingness

Although I am doing my best to wrap my brains around all of this, there's just no way to dismiss some meaningful things I dearly miss. Quarantining for the purpose of containment of a deadly virus is something we have to live with for the survival of all of us.

This morning about a half-past six, I became fixated on a venue that had to be curtailed because of the CoronavirusCOVID 19. The venue was very meaningful to the group, and as I thought upon the beauty of the Tuesday mornings we shared, I began to write. It's easy to think about what was, when it's hard to do something new. For nearly two years I have met with a few other men for breakfast. By the way, to all concerned, methinks this is a good time to make it clear that it isn't true that we only talk about cars, sports, and weather forecasts.

Anyway, initially, I thought that I could never appreciate and be an integral part of something that did not have prayer or Bible as the centerpiece of its focus. But as I meditated on the matter, I dared myself to do something different and began to like the entire idea. It was basically a 'Get-together about nothing'. I recalled that one of my best TV shows was 'a show about nothing'.

The beauty of nothingness can be seen in an atmosphere where there is no agenda. The platform is open, the plan is tossed, and the props are removed and demolished. The purpose is certain and always Christian based, but the process is a mystery. It's an 'outside the box' experience where things could go over the top, but there is no yearning to get to the bottom of things. It's a time of 'just let it happen, or not'. It's a potluck of fellowship and familiarity where nothing of certainty is brought to the table, but where a heart full of substance is always taken from the table. It's a gathering where life is fluid and flows like a peaceful river. It's a river that's very aware that its greatest asset is its tributaries. The beauty of nothingness is not a preplanned analysis of skin-deep or beneath the surface modeling; but rather, it is an ocean of discovery. On this early Tuesday morning, I'm quarantined and ok, but I'm missing something.

Two Schools

I went to two schools in reality,
But only had one in my mind,
A school that assimilated and understood,
A school that would not drive me blind.

Daniels nursery was the best,
In all ways apart from one,
Because it accepted my difference,
Respected my pensive hum.

But they didn’t provide facilities,
For my disability, loud and many times proud;
Sometimes I needed just to talk it over,
‘Cos my disability was not a shroud.

But I came top in both alphabet and numbers,
The private Edinburgh school was not above me,
And I managed to carve some friendships,
That were a delight to see.

But since they didn’t provide facilities,
It was decided I would leave for another,
For my future primary education,
Where my disability would not be such my master.

So I moved to a special school, Graysmill,
Which asserted my normality fine,
But they saw my clever mind as my parents credibility,
And so for Daniels I would pine.

I felt so much loved by Daniels headmaster,
Who took me aside initially and asked,
If I was happy and alright inside,
And so my reality I never masked.

I questioned him, “Do I have to believe in god?”
And he replied lovingly and tenderly,
“No Rhoda, you don’t have to believe in god,”
So I was relieved and had hope for future longevity.

So in daily assembly when I just thought my own thoughts,
Contemplated and pondered quietly to myself,
He smiled at me once ‘cos he knew what I was doing,
That bold, quick-witted atheistic elf.

But when I got to Graysmill as a new pupil,
They thought their framework for me was the best,
And tried to beget me with Christianity,
Ramifying my parents traditional morality chest.

After about eight months of hardship,
I realised they did not understand as well,
My real disability and proposition,
Which would take them some way further.

They were so uncaring at times,
Forceful, heartless and cold,
Lacking the relationships,
Upon which I could hold.

They assumed I'd not liked Daniels,
And empathised with me about it,
Insisted I'd not taken to integration,
That along side me they did sit.

There should’ve been that middle ground,
That state school with creative gumption,
So that my worldview was never found,
Lacking, with myself in need of instruction.

Anthony had always been cautious and wise about matters of morality. But
this time, his eyes were dim to matters of reality. That December day was

relaxed and peaceful. The "back then's and remember when's" began to leap like antelope across many years in his memory zone. But trouble lurked

ahead, and he was home alone. All was calm and silent, but it wasn't even night. The day wasn't holy, but it was sunny and bright. In the quietness of his

blessed home, out of curiosity, he picked up the phone. He never should have made that fateful call. It cost him dearly, and he nearly lost it all. It was

indeed a normal beginning of the winter season. But sometimes normal changes course for any reason. Like falling leaves of Fall, innocense graced

that first call. A happy season, it was Christmas Eve as I recall. It would have been better had he gone shopping at the mall. But instead, he was curiously

driven, unaware of what would befall. He simply wanted to touch base with his past, and that was all. He never realized his future was moving toward a huge

waterfall. It's funny sometimes how a bit of curiosity can lead us astray. But it's not funny when we realize how we can easily lose our way. For seven

months, he ignored the teachings of Jesus, Peter, and Paul. As his resistance grew weaker and smaller, his became a battle royal. There were songs that

came to mind making him feel 10 feet tall. But without warning, he felt one song penning him against the wall. That song spoke of a Southern city on

Southern summer nights. And I tell you, for seven months, he really had no desire to be right. In his heart, he knew he was wrong. Within a few weeks,

he realized he really was not that strong. It's funny sometimes how initially we have no misguided intention at all. But it's not funny when we come close to

a great big fall. His deed was detected, causing a bit of dismay. But in process of time, it was to his delight that he was brought to the light. In due time

there came along one like a lion on the prowl with a mighty roar. After being pulled from the jaws of the bear, Anthony began to thrive and soar, and like

an eagle, he mounted on the heights. Doubtless, he would surely have been devoured had not God sent someone to help him fight.

I Fell In Love With a One Eyed Minion

You read the title correctly,
I realize that everyone's entitled to their own opinion
But, please read the entire story before you decide
Yes, I fell in love with a one eyed Minion

Like most of you I really enjoyed Despicable Me
and in it there was this one little guy
a bit shorter in stature, hair parted in the middle
Deep sigh. love at first sight with a Minion with one eye

His name was Stuart, and he was so playful and intelligent
I knew I was smitten, but alas he wasn't real
And although I could say the same about some humans...
I could not show this Minion fellow how I really feel

Wishful thinking flooded my mind
as I curled up in a comfortable chair, tired, but not sleepy
Next thing I know I appeared to be computer animated...
yet three dimensional...and yes I'll admit, it was a bit creepy

And there they were, a pack of Minions in the park
surging forward as one, looking for another leader
Then I saw Stuart nudge Bob and say, "That's her!
That's the babe that was checking me out in the theater!"

I was surprised that his speech lacked that familiar Minion dialect...
Stuart stood on a bench, and gave me the sweetest little kiss
He said, "I have noticed you in the movies, dozens
of times, but never thought I'd see you like this!"

Initially embarrassed that he knew I've watched him so often
the shame subsided as I spent the day at his place
We dined on banana flambe...and drank frothy banana shakes
Afterwards he serenaded me with a ukulele, with such style and grace

After dark, we took a stroll back to the park
Laying in the grass, I couldn't decide which shined more bright
the stars in the sky, or the twinkling in his eye
How I wished it could be this way every night

Stuart told me he thought humans were a glorious species
and that he loved me with all his heart
if it weren't for our differences in composition
we would never ever be apart

Then the sky and the ground began to buckle
All at once I was taken completely unaware
Instead of snuggling on the grass
I was reclining on that comfortable chair

I haven't seen him that way since,
I guess blu ray or dvd will just have to do
Although I miss him terribly, at least we had that one delightful day
Yes, I fell in love with a one eyed Minion, you do believe me..don't you?
