Inhaling, hushed, from hashed cigars
my mind implodes in Malimar
where Naiads bathe in caviar -
I dream of dwarves and three-eyed tsars.
The captive kiss of Princess Mars
(who talks in tongues at seminars)
burns red beyond Her blue boudoir -
I writhe within Her pale peignoir.
Her Maids gloss lips with cinnabar,
bedizen cheeks in dusts that mar,
serve teas beside the reservoir -
I sip them from a samovar.
Disguised in smoke and lamps of spar
Her Genies gender gold dinars,
evoking flames in ginger jars -
I plea before the Commissar.
At Princess’ neighbourhood bazaar,
white shadows slip through doors ajar
to drape my dreams in ash and char -
I long await the Avatar.
Her Merchants (preening, proud Hussars)
paint pretty scenes on VCR’s
while sailing ships to Zanzibar -
I strum the strings of warped sitars.
Her Prophets sometimes cruise in cars
else while at each and every bar
to speak of space and time bizarre -
I pass my pride for small pourboires.
Her Necromancers trace in tar
tall tales of wisdom flung afar,
transported by the Registrars -
I hitchhike on their handlebars.
Her seers conjure repertoires
where She and I are on a par
in infinite surreal memoirs -
I sometimes sense the void is ours.
My Princess never sees the scars
cut by Her whispered “au revoirs” -
I often wake to ask ‘who are
these Gods that sail the distant stars?’
Magic happened on the shore of the Montezuma horizon
Two genies appeared, Mondomay and Mighizeb
Dressed in gauzy dainty chiffon, carrying two cats and a swan
They were a corpulent two, one with brown eyes, the other blue.
What wishes did you have? A new goat, sheep, donkey or calf?
People pleasers all the way, their attention made my day.
Illustrious and lovely, they had suggestions, but kept them hidden.
We are not allowed to share our ideas, even if prompted and bidden.
I told them I would have to think and Mighizeb’s face turned pink.
We might run out of wishes, said Mondomay, as he washed my dishes.
For this had been my first wish, as I despise redundant dishrag swishes.
You wasted a wish! Said my husband Mouse who now lives in his mama’s
Sugar plums and pixie dust, genies who grant wishes
fairytales with happy endings, those are so delicious
walking with the one you love, caught in summer's rain
kisses soft and gentle, the kind that make a tummy pain
Dreams that make you sorry you must ever wake
buttercream licked from the top of a chocolate cake
sugar rushes when feeling low, addictions we all need
never enough of true love, to this we should all concede
I've never heard of a single person dying from an overload
of sweet talking, loving lips, or a box of pecan rocky road.
I'm whipping up a batch of fudge that I will gladly share
the cost to you is one hug, or as many as you can spare.
There's only one point I want to make in this silly little write
it's for you to be careful when the time winds down tonight
Be safe, be kind, keep hold of your mind. Enjoy kisses sweet,
but when that party is over let the pot of soup be your retreat.
All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth
All my back teeth
A Mercedes or Bentley
A life time membership to Hugh Hefner's mansion
The rights to the song "If I had a million dollars"
Cause then I would have 5 million dollars
A new pair of socks
A house full of books
With a sexy librarian too boot
Or in some nice boots
If its not too too much trouble
Santa list of naughty girls
Some Newfoundland screech
A clock that can turn back time
I train set 1000 times bigger than Arthur s
And his butler
Again. If its not too much trouble
A few hundred genies in bottles
A few Rembrandt's and various other famous paintings
The country of Iceland, if the price is right
Oh and all the episodes of "The Rockford files" and "Colombo"
My childhood back
Oh and a private plane
I do not really want one but it would seem plain silly
If I don’t ask, n'est pas?
I almost almost forgot, a harem or even a few
Just for images sake
For I want only one princess
Of course, I would gladly give this all away
If when I see a child suffer or sad
I could paint happiness inside in their little souls
If only
I could paint happiness inside of us all
Of course we can start with the poetry membership!
“You can have any wish,” the genie said.
“Any ONE wish?” the girl asked, a little disappointedly.
“One wish,” the genie answered, shrugging.
“Oh.. then” she said, thinking it over. “I wish for.. a banana,” she said whimsically.
“A banana?” The genie asked, hesitantly.
“Yes, the girl said, nodding her head.
A banana appeared on the table.
“As a banana pudding, please - in a bowl,” she amended.
The genie nodded, and a large bowl of delicious looking pudding took the place of the banana.
“With a spoon?” she asked sweetly, and a spoon appeared by the bowl.
She tasted the pudding and it was, indeed, magically delicious.
“A jewel encrusted spoon.” she corrected, and again it was so.
Then she blurted, all at once:
“The Spoon is In the hand of a handsome prince, who’s genetically identical to Timothée Chalamet and is so in love with me that he proposed a moment ago - to the delight of his father, the king, who knows we will both live long and happy lives, having several delightful children - that will rule long after us - but who, unbeknownst to anyone, has an immensely serious heart condition that, sadly, will claim him roughly fifteen minutes after he pronounces the prince and I husband and princess!”
The prince appeared, and the happy king.. It all happened.
As the ensuing dramas unfolded, the genie took his leave.
“It’s *never* just a banana,” he said to no one, snapping his finger and vanishing in a puff of wispy white smoke.
the waning moonlight thinly enveloped
the dusky canvas obscurely sprawling
across the way from the window I looked,
I knew a park was there with slides and swing
but for the moment dark revealed nothing,
for the moment I didn’t care, either
because in darkness I felt even darker;
I was lying in bed embraced by regret
of decisions of love and time wasted,
spooning the layered sheets of doubt and fret
all thawed out from my heart into my head;
The memories of hurtful comments said
by and to me were chastising voices
of ghostly choices purposed to depress;
As dusk became the night I became lost
in whimsically strewn wishes and pleas
to gods and stars and genies alike, crossed
as eyes crying for mother drowned in seas,
I spoke to nobody but begged for keys
to unlock another time, another place
to start all over again with new space,
To unseen gods I had long since quit on
I prayed, bargained even, another chance
and I’d do everything right this season
- A jobless man needing a pay advance,
But for thirty three years nary a glance
had alpha or omega set on me
and this night I expected no divine decree;
several hours elapsed as I collapsed
in smoldering thoughts of suicide fanned,
- I had outlasted night’s concealing grasp,
and as the morning sun began its planned
ascent, I gave into Hades’ command
through my tenth floor window whispered to me
of hellish suggestions to jump and flee;
on ledge I stood and looked across the way
for one last glimpse of earth and pastel sky,
- a small souvenir of my final day,
My eyes settled on last night’s park from high
above, and that’s when I saw God’s reply,
- an unspoken answer for eyes turned blind,
His deafening promise to all mankind;
by his heavenly brushes came colors
where none had been, transforming lonely space
into one of vibrance and life renewed,
- and it was a different space,
I watched as birds celebrated morning
with songs of praise and thankfulness,
- and I felt a quick waning emptiness,
I heard the children below lining up
for the school bus all on time and ready
to live and learn in this new day granted,
- and I felt like I knew nothing at all;
but then I knew everything all at once,
and I stepped off the ledge ready to live,
ready to embrace
ready to seize life found…
in another time.
LIMERICKS NOT WRITTEN FOR A CONTEST
Men will slobber and drool when at the beach
Cuz bikinied women are out of reach
So eat your hearts out, men
For those girls you will yen
Fine women would consider you a leech
Men are enticed by girls with flat tummies
Though theirs are obese from eating yummies
They can keep dreaming
With beady eyes gleaming
Some of the male gender are such dummies
Men think of untying bikini strings
Of Victoria Secret girls with wings
They'd like to touch their tush
or better yet their.... shush!
Men want to do so many wicked things
Ogling girls clad in skimpy bikinis
Wishing they had three wishes from genies
Each one would be the same
Trying to UP their game
With enlargements for their teeny weenies
Turn about's always considered fair play
Many women would be glad for a lay
With a well muscled stud
Who would heat up her blood
Spendin' a lil time rollin' in the hay
The excursion to inner self inspires the
ire of many,
for it exposes them to themselves as mirrors
reflect
My well of emotions are still waters, & a ton of
respect is to be paid to introspection
for that's as deep as it gets
Submersion will test & cause panic as you
struggle with breathing,
but getting acquainted with inner self is a
wonderful feeling
These feelings deeper than oceans inspire
many floods of emotions,
so disruptive they sparked a change to my
external notions
The flame on the surface was out of control
driving the ego to ground
where it was burned up at the core, remains
never were found
Losing yourself within the self is the way
to be found,
as all that's left is your reflection staring
not making a sound
We're bound to the all, there's no escaping
the curve & the ties,
even if granted a Genies wishes &
infinite trys

I light my precious oil Aladdin’s lamp
As I poured some wine, in a split sec
A genie appeared, as if by command:
“You’ve lift the lid, just put it back
I don’t perform anymore, better try
Another bottle, to get the one
Who can help, if you venture to apply",
Said the genie, and instantly he was gone
Gobsmacked, I rose from my sagged bed
Opened the website of Aladdin
Not a single mention of genies I met
Poorly designed lamps filled the screen
So I got me another bottle of red
Then another, and soon I lost count
Come back for a drink, genie, haven’t I said
All your wonders I can go without.
