Earth

Earth
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

Coy the myth ..

Earth.. birth has brought you here.
Your status qou will unfold
On adventure either as king or queen, mr president, bishop or cardinal.
A branded tennis player, a balanced balarina, thief or theatrical liar you can be.
Bee's will sting you and charming bird's will sing for you.
You will greet friend's and enemy's make.
Earth a greatest story ever told you will regular hear.
Earth there be water, sun and moon light.
You be baptized, discussed and dispised.
Earth will boil and there be many a justice not satisfied.

On earth they say ..
" To be or not to be .. that is the question " as you move from ugly duckling to clean cut soldier or go on and perish like a hermit crabbing everywhere.
A nobel winner you win be or a rebel in causes.

Earth has a live right algorithm printed in a bible.
Earth O earth thy mysteries to behold ..
Like Picasso's donning the wall's.
Pudding tree's and feeding seas there be.
The enduring pleasures of fruitful is fulfilled and multiplied without love.
We have mortal divinity for idols and yet none for our creator.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit is often forgotten.

Earth .. here
A shepherd you will need and shelter of a mom without a dad , brother or friend in either care or be derelect.
Give alms to many on Earth and your gateway to heaven is secured.
At our end the rock's on Earth will have aged as we cleft to hold on longer.
Still the waves will always team to shore even after many survival thrillers.
Astronauts went up and ships down.
There have been quakes and volcano's
Earth not to be conquered ..
Earth will stand.

Earth not a myth
Earth rotates and the seasons change.
Earth not digital controlled.
Each soul adores it's life.
Earth superb ..
Where to from here
O Lord
Bring me back once more ..
Though I had such a hard time here
But...
There was
Rock 'n Roll.

They

Imagine they find your bones
in a boggy field -
it happens all the time,
speaking of which,

time is your pocket handkerchief,
your wristwatch,
and your best evening pants
all reduced to insect dust.

Only a fragment
(a rust-addled skimpy second hand)
remains to be picked up
by the pale flesh
of a much more efficient brain
than you or your many cousins
ever had.
The rest of you is much scattered,
much distributed among the small
bog dwelling children of lesser gods.

Ten or a hundred years later they may find
a distant tooth with its crown intact,
later still, a being reports your broken jaw
unearthed by the sludging rain.
Will they then have enough of your head
to commence a plaster likeness of your
drunken grin after a cocktail party,
or will they find the rest of your skull
in a deeper layer of dirt
with an old crack across its dome.

Perhaps they will assume you died
at the hands of an axe wielding foe,
never guessing
you fell heavily off your girlfriends Honda
practicing one last incautious wheelie
on a minor road in darkest Derbyshire?
Will the few decimated parts of that Honda
be thought to be a primitive metallic skeleton
of an ancient sacrificial temple?

When the elements finally reveal
more fractured bits of you
will an artificial intelligence
reassemble your last moments
while misinterpreting
the age and time of your mediocre your life?

Will they solidify your that life
the way we reconstruct diorama’s
of mastodon herds grazing in tall grass,
while illustrating for dramatic effect,
menacingly concealed packs
of saber tooth tigers lying in wait.

Be very sure to care of your wrist watch,
for they who excavate your posterity
will probably misplace your existence
by at least ten thousand years,

not that you, like the mastodons, will care,
but they might.

A Historic Event

The year was sixteen-sixty-four
A comet crossed the sky,
And Londoners looked on in fear
Convinced the end was nigh.

The streets which once were paved with gold
Were now awash with waste.
A swarm of flies and scourge of rats
Foretold the death they faced.

And so it was that London town
Was struck down by the plague,
And corpse on corpse, wife, husband, child,
Were taken to their grave.

Deep in the dales of Derbyshire
A peaceful village lay,
Until a bale of cloth arrived
That inauspicious day.

A bale of flea-infested cloth
Hung by the hearth to dry,
Which stirred the soporific fleas
And roused the plague thereby.

The tailor's poor assistant died
A death of searing pain,
And pestilence intensified
Its unrelenting reign.

As many planned to leave their homes
The vicar intervened
Declaring that instead of flight
They should be quarantined.

'Dear flock of Eyam, sacrifice
Not self must be our plan,
For once enclosed we'll suffer but
Set free our fellow man.'

Within the space of just one month
So many perished there.
The smell of sadness and of death
Ingrained the putrid air.

The years have passed, the plague long gone
But graves still tell the tale
Of how their sacrifice and strength
Meant others could prevail.

NOTE:

On 1 November 1666 farm worker Abraham Morten gasped his final breath - the last of 260 people to die from bubonic plague in the remote Derbyshire village of Eyam. Their fate had been sealed four months earlier when, after the onset of the plague from flea-infested cloth from London, the entire village made the remarkable decision to quarantine itself in an heroic attempt to halt the spread of the Great Plague.

Premium Member Gormless Sue Part two

I once told a story about my
Ex-girlfriend Gormless Sue
Well that was part one
And this is part two

Gormless Sue had a farm
She lived in a cosy warm house
But she made me sleep in an old rickety barn

Born and bread
A Derbyshire lass
She had big assets
Lots of livestock
And she had a lovely ass

She told me her Father was a pig
Her Mother a cow
I found this strange
And didn't know how?

She never said much apart from a shout
She was so Moody had a temper
She'd often go out
In a huff
Taking her dogs for a walk
In the woods
She'd be out for ages
And when she came back
She'd be covered in blood?

Married 10 times
She just couldn't make up her mind
As sweet as honey
She took all their money
And were never seen again?

When she got mad
She really got mad
Why?
I didn't understand. If she couldn't get her way
She'd throw pots and pans
Then all at once it hit me
And I began to understand
The girl was bonkers

she would have made a good actor
But she loved her farm
And her tractor

She was 6 foot 1 inch
And nearly 6 foot 1 inch wide
She wanted to marry
But she would have been too heavy to,carry
Then I realised she had a cunning plan
As I'd come into some money
And she became as sweet as honey
And stopped throwing pots and pans
I was scared for my life
When she kept laughing
And kept sharpening her knife
She'd give a wild stare
When she knew I was there

One day we were making hay
We got too carried away
Let's say
we didn't do much work that day
As we rolled in the hay

She wasn't easy to please
And used to make fun and tease
I feel lucky I'm still alive
There's a lot more to say
That I'll have to leave for another time
I just hope I can write part 3 and,
Survive?.

“Lennon asked the world to live as one ..
There is a harmony of birdsongs in his song.
Jackson made a change when he looked in the mirror ..
Steven’s rejoiced .. My Sweet Lord hallelujah..
There is no little green apples for Smith in a summertime.
Simon walked down in the middle of the street looking for a role model.
Sledge loved a woman, she was his world.
John’s english rose was called out to heaven ..
A candle burnt out too quick ,
A legend never vanishes.
Pussycat remember’s Mississippi? in dreams of yesterday until the end of time.
Kelly is everything, the world greatest .. he made it.
Flack looked at the moon and stars and the earth moved , the first time ..
Two guys were feeling weary under a bridge over troubled waters.
Simply Red were holding onto years and kept holding on .. nothing growing.
Manhattan’s says everybody has a dream , wheels turning ..
It’s just one moment away.
Smoke got into the eyes of the Platters ..
But their hearts were on fire.
The lady sings the blues ,
Sinatra made it in New York.
Singing and dancing in the rain make you happy .. "
It is glee
“We are the world .. God’s big family ..
We made a choice ..
We can make it a brighter day ..”
Hey ! .. Here comes the sun with Beatles ..
“We stand together as one”
Fallen angel’s have left us .. cleft
There is hurt .. a spineless attack
We must never give in .. it is a
World without end.
Their terror will never destroy us ..
They hide away like . .
The red poppy will ever grow in Brussels
And the herb will heal the people of the land.

The talents and artistry of a land ..
They cowardly bomb destroy ..
They murder ..
They run away ..

Funny Numbers

2 Whom it may
Concern
Numb I have suffered
And by God done I am
Lord..
So many characters
Too many teachers
Yell and try to tell
How to sauce
The spice of life
By virtue
Two are true
So boo woo
And I am just
A baby day old.
Two you fall in love
4 you will rue
They break your heart
In 25 pieces
And give you
Zero back.
It's the beginning
They four get
And it end's
Like 12th of never
Nevermind
Some were I source
Yes eyesore's they were
They endangered species
They remember
And blame you 33 times.
B 4 U
Put them on ice
Have a double
And tot with no trouble.
Now a triple
And equal them
To zero.
I once went to supper
We eight
The food was dumb
Their woman beautiful.
Even 11 is even
If you hush out 1
Now I am one
Goin solo
Not duo
First in line
Sho go away
Want to be alone
Whimper somewhere else.
It's my album.
I start my life
To count
Up to five.
I know the abc
A B C
It's incredible code.
I am no 123456789
Use the calculator
Electric arithmetic
One in a billion
Nor the first
I count on me' self
Digit fidget fiddle
The credit or debit
Switch don't twiddle
A stitch saves nine
Overdrafted with
NineTea six
Needles and pins
Arithmetic rhythm
Hum de wow
After 5 minutes
Hum de whaa.
Caught 22
You get it ...
Make that change
You with 007 figure ? ..
Copyright relax ..
Odd man very odd
You will be 66 and
Still outstanding gold.
Zero zero seven
I give you 10
from 10.
But I ..
A Adam
Eye for one
Be the first 1
In A billion.

2 Whom it may concern
So now you happy
You know me
Or You.

Contemplate

Contemplate
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

And did mine mind
wander to places be
on leaving grey mouths
behind back home
now alone ..
still I sit at a lake
in the park
named consolation
and contemplate ..
watching calm silver water
sliver into small waves.
I am in quiet ponder time
and wonder home.
The lake is noiseless
inert and filled with placid art
There is bird and tree diverse
in a landscape ornate.
A goose sails the lake
and pass me by
in a peaceful industry of
water under cloud
it is realistic theatre.
I stare and gaze
where the geese will sail to
and sleep tonite..
In a chance of reeds perhaps

At the lake I start to contemplate
are my little sisters
safe and warm home
do they have a plate to eat ?
a big brother dear
is always wanted near..
I hear their teasing giggles
when those doll faces
saw biscuits they knew
it was christmas
now I teardrop.

honk .. honk ..
the gander
makes a wed call
he is a contender
to mate new life

peace I feel
my strength is real
I see the juice of nature
I appreciate the go life
which God has dispensed
for me..

But far away i am
from state and homeland
in a land foreign and forlorn
I ponder on my imigrate
our jolly brigade
I correlate home
with mountain moving faith
on courage and hard prayer
I was selected
to leave my local on mission
to send money home
for nourish in my bornland

I crave the games we played
but here sedate I am
I reflect
on my fatherland
though now I live in mercy land
with ocean distance
and now
I contemplate
going home
here at lake
Consolation.

Millicent My Lady Darling Dear

Millicent
My Lady Darling Dear.
Lionel Derbyshire

I could not say goodbye
I did not want to ..
There will be no more
Hello dear's ..
My lady darling dear.

A pale winter morning in May
Came passing by
To lift you higher
At GOD' s real moment.
You were bold and alone
I was hurt and broken.
My tender fawn had to go
I do not mean the colour beige.
I mean my
Darling Dear Millicent ..

My Lady Darling Dear.
WIth your stroke and tuck
You made sure i am clean
From ear to toe.
My skilled and clever
Lady Darling Dear
You were my bell
That rang throughout the house.
A house you made a home.
Your hand's knitted
Perfect beanies
For me to wear
To warm my head.
Your new biscuit recipe's.
Kept me yummy full

My Lady Darling Dear.
You supermom !
To your son
You made him 10 men.
A super gran you got
Lexi her first chair.

You truly are my love ..
My first big prize in life
That fabulous win for me
Was the size of
My big blue sea.
Like a rose
Fresh you are.
With sweet lavenders
Right on time
Your scent
I knew everywhere
And the love of my
Lady great
I felt everytime.

My Lady Darling Dear.
Day's come and days go
Hours are dry..
I look to the empty sky
To faithfull you
And my love multiply's
For you.

My Lady Darling Dear.
If only yesterday
can be today ..
To hear once more ..
Your call
To run to you
And say
" Hello Dear .. "

There is only
Thoughts now ..
and Love
You never
Said goodbye
Where you left me.
You only said
" I love you "
