Sunbeam in the rain
The aura that surrounds the pure
Is something we shall never know
So beautiful and untouched by hate
So kind, so loving, yet so touched by pain
Oh! Never have we felt so safe
In your loving motherly embrace
Still every time the war gates were pulled
The commander in you seemed to unfold
A friend we saw among all our foes
In the greatest battle to win the unknown
That’ silver lining beyond the cloud
That might radiance from up above
A picture of grace and a fount of hope
Is something you painted as you walked the corridor?
Elegance so deeply personifies
The voice of the young quarrelers and spies
The pain we feel shall forever resonate
At the loss of your guidance in the rain
And in the end with bated breath
Bid adieu to our mother, our love and our friend

Form:
I was feeling out of sorts,
anxious and depressed from my plight.
Falling asleep while watching the stars,
I had my wings spread, ready to take flight.
Then I thought I saw you dancing,
With him, near the moon's light.
You were happy,
Full of love and inner light.
Your eyes reflection,
Revealed my distant fight.
I saw myself in you,
you opened heaven's skylight.
Inside I was wanting,
Illuminated by your kryptonite.
I need you, and told you so,
you responded outright.
"Anytime you need me,
board my ship beneath the sky."
"Just close your eyes beneath the stars,
pray to me, and take flight."
"Please bring your ticket,
it's what gives you an invite."
I woke from my sleep,
I felt refreshed and full of foresight.
Lying on my lap,
A ticket that had been punched at midnight.
It was from heaven's starship,
and it said that God was the commander during my flight.
God must be absolute good,
otherwise His merciless killings cannot be explained
or to consider His curse as a realization of His justice,
and, moreover, call Him love.
God has to be eternally good,
otherwise there no place to go and clean
the guilty consciences that men carry from their birth
and stacked high for tens of thousands of years.
God is good forever,
That’s because many hypocrites make him look good
hiding themselves behind His holy name.
The real reason that God is good is that:
the eyes that as not see Him as good will be gouged out,
[no wonder why men claim He is good though he is
commander of blood bathers,]
the tongue that not praises His name will be cut off,
[so that explains why men praise His name
though he is so biased,]
the ears not recognize His voice will be ruptured,
[O my God, I see why men listen and worship Him
though He is a ruthless tyrant.]
It doesn’t matter, however, whether men like or dislike God,
accept or reject, or confirm or even deny his existence,
because God is God and is eternal being until men
totally vanish from the surface of the earth.
What a privilege for me to be enlisted
In the service* of the Supreme Commander and King of kings.
Grateful, I yield to Him my all: body, soul, and spirit…
By His mercy’s beseeching: gracious, compassionate, faithful gentle…
To give my personal offering that’s:
voluntary, active, enthusiastic, sacrificial, faith-driven
holy, presentable, acceptable, excellent, perfect…
Engaging myself in ministries to help others through:
divinely-entrusted gifts, talents, abilities, skills, resources, time…
With the motives of: thanking the Creator, pleasing the Lord,
exalting the Saviour, glorifying God.
*Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Yankee Doodle Dandy
It’s where I’ve fallen and where I lay.
Ashes to ashes, cradle to grave,
Where drums roll and the fife is played.
Where the bell tolls, it tolls for me.
Dust to dust, pray tell, “It’s Liberty!—
It’s Yankee Doodle Dandy.”
It’s where I lie and where I’ll be
When they come to bury me.
Cover me, and let me rest in peace.

Note:
The “American Revolutionary War,” aka the American War of Independence, took place from April 19, 1775, to September 3, 1783, between Great Britain and the thirteen British colonies in North America.
According to a few accounts, when General Cornwallis (1738–1805), the commander of the British forces, whose officers surrendered to General George Washington (1732–1799), the commander of the Continental Army at Yorktown, Virginia, on October 19, 1781, the retreating, defeated British troops were met by an American band playing “Yankee Doodle.”
On September 3, 1783, the “Treaty of Paris” was signed between Great Britain and the United States, ending the American Revolutionary War and establishing the borders between British North America and the United States of America.
Her tears lost to rain ...
Dorothea stood in the cold mist,
her habit soaked through, though she cared not.
The gray markers spread out before her like stone soldiers at attention,
as if she were a commander of the dead ...
'No', he would have corrected, 'You are my gift from God' -
her soldier, as cold as stone, now long dead,
deep in the frozen earth at her feet.
She ached for his touch ...
it had been twenty-two years since he'd left for the war -
since he'd been killed protecting his platoon,
yet the wound was as raw as ever,
and the longing for his smile burned a hole in her deepest being.
God was the only thing that made it bearable,
and that devotion was for his sake alone, not hers -
not the children she tended to at the abbey,
not the twisted-limbed gentlemen at the veteran's center,
not the numberless parishioners she had comforted over the years,
not the long lines of homeless at the shelter,
not even the family members she loved and missed back home,
but his ... and his alone.
She read the gravestone aloud,
as she had done so many times before:
"Lieutenant Theodore James Crowley, Jr"
Theodore ... Gift From God, she thought to herself ...
Though she hadn't known it then, it was what her name meant, too ...
almost as if it had been planned, somehow ...
as if it was ordained by the heavens ...
almost as if God had created them ... for each other.
Which, of course ... He had.

I salute you brother of mine
One whose venomous bile
Sends shivers down the spine
Of spineless rank and file
I have never known you
But like William’s “18”, your
Legend lives on afresh and new
Telling tales of valour and rancour
Singlehandedly, you transformed Be-neen
Into a Bend-Hell; singlehandedly,
You made the state’s purse quite lean
Only to spend your loot foolishly
Like Samson, you had a Delilah
Like Achilles, you had the heel
Expecting you to be caught very far
From home, like a complacent eel
You were tangled in the net
Reclining in the recess of expired nipples
Dousing my awe and admiration. How wet!
Your fame is lost among the ripples
Commander-in-thief that you once were
You died like a mere beggar in the street
How disappointing! From stag to mare
You lost your crown by being indiscreet
Daredevil, bank robber, kingpin
Notorious criminal – the infamous Anini
The Dillinger of your time – a King
Dethroned by men on one knee.
It has come to my attention
Something other than a recession
There has been a hoax
That could be a sick joke
On the heels of a debate about injections
This discussion is not funny before the Presidential election
Remember back when
Rxs used a U Penn
Trying to diagnose the brain
In the health care game
They wrote the script
Without worrying about it
This was back when the peace love man
Made the stand long before the obsession with the word fan
This all went down
When stylish boots and fashion ruled the town
You were a studious Quaker
Always looking for something as a money maker
As we close the door
On another war
May we get to the bottom this issue ugly as a big apple core,
They say the important information is in the detail
And maybe this is the reason Hillary and Chelsea check the email
It may not be a virus that is the monster that should be in a cage
But the idea that we need to be on the same page
Just dropping this hint to the Commander and Chief
Do not play this out like an immature subject like something people in Wellington want to beef
Take hold of the wrong
Give a good reason for the rebellious pot smoking bong
And when the corona virus chit chat is dead
Maybe then the stalker talkers will get the memo message ‘enough said’
Volatile Hazardous Noxious Material...
Spews out the maw
bare n paws size of a bear
yes, him Donald Trump
with maniacal glare
gussied up as inane
name calling offensive
analogous to an overstuffed
ego freezing cold stare
putrid enfilade flatulence issuing
from his doughy derriere
smug with a smirk, the
Grinch would sleigh deer,
where aroma of venison
shish kabob filling the air
his degrading hashtagged lipped
puckered tripe packs a wallop
with palpable fear,
that such juvenile beast smear
ring will define opponents
like prey caught between crosshair,
especially worrisome trapping
vying potential presidential candidates
leaving socialist liberal
reputations in total disrepair
free doling "FAKE" infomercials
nary reducing status as bajillionaire
playing for keeps commander in chief
finagling constitution if necessary

imprisoning protesters, who do not share
self indulgence dressed up as debonair
bigoted, egregiously impious buccaneer
running democracy into the ground

swaths of gerrymandered districts
population forced to puff their
light brown dyed

ring styled matching couture identical
to an emperor in new clothes,
i.e. essentially buck naked bare
as a newborn babe throwing tantrum

Taj Mahal sized high chair

encompassing the entire Northern hemisphere.
“If you are too shy, too scared, too timid,
Then you may have some trouble with this task,” the commander said.
Shell and I smiled at each other. This was not either of us.
“But if you are overly confident, think it’s going to be a cinch,
feel it’s not that big a deal, you are going to have even more trouble.”
The commander was still talking, but he had lost me.
Shell and I did not look at each other.
I think if we had I would have seen her smile wiped out
swiftly like mine. I look Shell up on Facebook, but
if she is on there she is probably using a married name.
So if your name is Shell and you remember this, you
are probably my friend. Look me up and friend me!
