A POEM I WROTE PERTAINING TO BEING ON THE CUSP OF GIVING UP ...SO EASY TO DO TODAY...NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP.
I was feeling out of sorts,
anxious and depressed from my plight.
Falling asleep while watching the stars,
I had my wings spread, ready to take flight.
Then I thought I saw you dancing,
With him, near the moon's light.
You were happy,
Full of love and inner light.
Your eyes reflection,
Revealed my distant fight.
I saw myself in you,
you opened heaven's skylight.
Inside I was wanting,
Illuminated by your kryptonite.
I need you, and told you so,
you responded outright.
"Anytime you need me,
board my ship beneath the sky."
"Just close your eyes beneath the stars,
pray to me, and take flight."
"Please bring your ticket,
it's what gives you an invite."
I woke from my sleep,
I felt refreshed and full of foresight.
Lying on my lap,
A ticket that had been punched at midnight.
It was from heaven's starship,
and it said that God was the commander during my flight.
