If Your Name Is Shell and If

“If you are too shy, too scared, too timid,
Then you may have some trouble with this task,” the commander said.
Shell and I smiled at each other. This was not either of us.

“But if you are overly confident, think it’s going to be a cinch,
feel it’s not that big a deal, you are going to have even more trouble.”
The commander was still talking, but he had lost me.  

Shell and I did not look at each other.
I think if we had I would have seen her smile wiped out
swiftly like mine.  I look Shell up on Facebook, but
if she is on there she is probably using a married name.

So if your name is Shell and you remember this, you
are probably my friend. Look me up and friend me!
