My dear Nay few!
My dear shenanigan floating near Shenandoah
Let us make a trip itinerary around the upcoming December
For the longest word where she sang for long, so long
Even a patsy like me denied the intervention
Not to repeat the Meriam , as they sung , unsung, a faded croon
For years too long enduring a morning, a bay boon.

Bonjour!

Shanandoah is a place poem.
December is a month
Meriam is a Thesaurus pal
Before the L section in Babylon

Please watch out after twenty past chapter four!

Premium Member Greetings

To all of my friends on Poetry Soup,
you really are a dynamic poet troupe.
Though I’m not here every single day,
rest assured I’ll not stay away.

You’ve made me laugh and sometimes cry,
when your engaging works I do espy.
I sit here now with tea in cup,
occasionally I’ll take a sup.

Prodigious poems that I have faved,
command the entire center stage.
I revisit them whenever I’m down,
for them everyone deserves gold crowns.

Within this crisis there’s time to reflect
and take opportunity to reconnect.
So Guten Tag, Ola, Konnichiwa Shikamoo,
G’day, Namaste, Shalom, Asalaam, to you.

Ciao, Yassas, Bonjour, Hola, Goddag,
Nin hao, Ahlan,  Privet, Goedendag,
Witaj, Halo, Helo, Selam, Hei, too;
stay well, I do appreciate you.

THE BEAUTY HAS EYES

Your grace adorns the stage,
those bountiful eyes I knew first
   you glide, emotions poured into your stein

Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! *

The village shines with your visage,
the articulation of your voice

Your my choice, as scenes range
from mockery to fear

My mind races across the stage with you
as forks, knives and plates give chase

Your peasant green gown and apron
and crown of braided hair,

flying in hilarious despair.

Even as you crept upon the castle
eyes wide as if flickering
in Gaston’s torch.

I throw roses to the stage,
you’re the apple of my grandma days!

Premium Member GNRT DAY 37 MONTREAL AND THE LANGUAGE OF THE FRENCH

How can you not love the language, the accent…
they way they form their words in France?
How French words flow so easily…linger in the air…and dance

Luckily we didn’t have to go to France…
to hear their language and be enthralled
because French is the language many speak right here in Montreal.

We tried to study ahead of time…knowing we’d be coming here by car…
and we’re happy when we learned Bonjour, Merci and Au Revoir.

We did remember two songs from our youth…Alouette and Dominique
(apparently that was when our capacity for learning French hit it’s highest peak)

They say there are 135,000 words in the French language
a number that seems quite high
when the only words we know are hello, thank you and goodbye.

But equipped with our Rick Steve’s handbook and our I-phone translator too
we walked the streets of Montreal determined to muddle through.

We took the Metro into the city, visited the Basillica of Notre Dame,
walked Jacques-Cartier park and in front of city hall
deciding along the way how we love Montreal.

As it turns out many people speak two languages here…
unlike those of us wholly speak one…
and were happy to help us get around…which made our day more fun.

So as a tribute to their language…one of the most romantic languages by far
I’ll end this poem by saying merci beaucoup to you for reading it…
and end with au revoir.

For those of you who wanted to hear a little more French
who weren’t  finished listening yet
I’m sorry this poem ended before you had a chance t
to hear my rendition of Alouette.

Hi

Hi.
One word
Two letters
And a universal introduction,
Hi,
Who knew such a simple word
In the world’s dictionary
Could be so,
Hard
To actually
Speak out loud,
Hi
Hola
Bonjour
Konnichiwa
Ni hao
I could probably
List
20 different ways
To say hi,
It doesn’t matter
What language the word is in
Because, it is still the worlds
Most simple collection of letters
But,
At the same time
So fricken hard to say,
I want to be able to
Say hi
But,
What happens after that
Stick with me here, ok
I walk up to someone I don't know,
I say hi
Maybe I’ll even smile
I’m really trying here, ok
They look up at me
Confused
Because
I’m a stranger
Saying hi,
They smile
And say hi back
But, instead of just saying
Hi
They are saying
Hi?
Which are two completely different
Words,
One is inviting
The other is saying who the hell are you
And what do you want,
Now what,
What am I supposed to say after that
How’s the weather?
I like your…
Socks
I don't know,
So as much as I want to say
That simple word
I can’t, because
What do I do after,
How do I make a connection
With someone that
Seems cool
I don’t know
I don't know, anything.
All I know is how to say
Hi
Hola
Bonjour
Konnichiwa
Ni hao
So as simple as that word may be,
It is the most complicated
Word
To me

Man-Icure

First off let's make it clear I ain't funny
And I don't start conversations out with bonjour
But there comes a time in every mans life
Where he needs a good Man-icure

When you hit the age of me on the same feet
It's time to give the old dogs a break
Empty out your calendar this will take all day for sure
And you don't want distractions in the way

Cause when the hair on your toes could keep an Eskimo clothed
And carpet his whole family's igloo
That's when you know it's time to call up your Bro's
And go visit a Asian or two

A pedicure for a man to remove the toe jam
Like they would weapons of mass destruction
But let's not call it a date cause that just sounds gay
Let's say outing or a manly luncheon

Like a kid in a candy store given chocolate galore
With no earthly thoughts of calories
Signed up for the 5 gold star plan soon to be a new man
Where you're bound to not recognize me

From hot wax to cream to all things in between
Why they even buffed my buff
From bottom to top they did the whole lot
And yes I liked it...thank you very much

As we went through the day the new me being made
Rolling me from dock to dock
Then came to the time we stopped short of a dime
When they wanted to give me a bikini WHAT?!?

That's where I drew the line there's just some things I find
That a Manly Man would never stand
We went back to the front, that's enough of this lunch!
THAT gold star wasn't in my plan

Would I do it again? All you gotta do is say when...
But next time round believe me
When it comes to the stars I'll stop at the 4
Which I believe is boxer instead of bikini

Premium Member BONJOUR, MA CHERIE

BONJOUR, MA CHÉRIE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Val was a young French squirrel, a model quite chic
Who shopped at only high-end, fashion boutiques.
     Clerks greeted her, “Bonjour, ma Chérie!
     Vous avez l'air belle et aérée!”
“C'est vrai, mes peeps. Wearing Dior gives me a mystique.”
Val struck a pose, paparazzi's camera's flashed,
 For being in the limelight she was unabashed.
      With a slow turn and flick of her tail,
       “You’ll find me trending 24/7, where ‘likes’ prevail!
Look how many followers on Insta I’ve amassed!”
But then the unthinkable happened~
A vile act, a digital fate that had Val saddened.
     Poof! In an ‘instant,’ her ‘gram’ account vanished,
     For which her digital famish could’nt be vanquished
“Oh woe is me! My heart can no longer be gladdened."
“Lord a mercy, you’ve been hacked!” her publicist did exclaim.
 “Tell me, tell me! Who’s responsible for this digital pain?”
     “Must ‘a been a hacktivist, a cyber punk perhaps.
      Or….did you let your cyber protection app lapse?”
“Oh, no! Hastag #Bonjour,mypeeps, my digital claim to fame.”
Who Knew Shredded Paper
Who knew shredded paper...
alias confetti could be so much fun?
The misses took play therapy (hive
urgently got to tell thee)
to whole nother level,
she smartly, expertly,
deftly... didst contrive
at my expense - (to late),
when paramedics did arrive
abusive deadly torture,
I did not survive,
when she (Frau Abby) five
feet tall minus one inch
lobbed bajillion pounds
(analogous to many
a swarming beehive),
no matter I took strategic dive
buried yours truly alive
moments before perishing,
heard her banshee
cackling, hooting, kickstarting...
dancing spot on jive,
nonetheless mere seconds
before my demise did arrive
manage to scrawl illegible
plea broadcast across
icloud expansive ethereal
euphemistic hard drive
though unsure if
timely help will arrive
to resuscitate and revive
praying immediate por favor
very limited options more
or less absolute zero before
death be not proud doth score,
sad fate, I cannot ignore
salvation amidst desperation
doth tide dully shore
bolster faith no more
toward humanity - generally a bore,
maybe comeuppance,... thus I deplore,
premature demise grim reaper doth adore
yet perchance bottled message
throughout cyber sea reaches poor
or fabled lands i.e.
Zanzibar, Timbuktu, Bangalore...,
no especial rhyme nor
reason zee afore
saith place names mentioned
except they came to fore
front of noggin of this schnorrer
realizing United States marine corps
may also beg tubby enlisted,
viz search and rescue operations
even intervention papal monsignor
please communicate asap with pope,
now I bid thee good bye bonjour
beetle browed troubadour.
Premium Member The Charm of Beautiful Women
I had leaned on the bar of the balcony, when suddenly
My eyes and my mind have captured, from far away
A silhouette creeping down the steps and the stairs
Imitating a sassy ballerina with great skills and care
It's like a prima donna which was galloping gallantly
The mystical diva had an extraordinarily
Kif-kif style which could cause any man to shiver
She was so cute that I had bit really hard the palm
Of my right hand, as a sign of love, respect and envy
About fifteen meters away, I had found her so pretty
That my legs were frantically shaking. So powerful as a bomb
That I almost fell from the celestial clouds. The charm, beauty
And elegance of this muse were unparalleled
The Mighty Lord knows how to build wonders that are
Sensational, lascivious, wholesome, perfect even irreproachable
This angelic passerby had replied to my bonjour
Freezing me until her outlines and edges had classically detoured
Oh! Wonderful Lord, she was so fine and adorable
That my tongue had grown heavy and my face had sunk into the bay
The charm of beautiful women was superfine and mysteriously sassy
God knows when and how to make men sweltering and happy
Power lies with souls that are delightfully charming and flowery
O Woman! It’s very pleasant to dream at night and a little all day.
