The Beauty Has Eyes
THE BEAUTY HAS EYES
Your grace adorns the stage,
those bountiful eyes I knew first
you glide, emotions poured into your stein
Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! *
The village shines with your visage,
the articulation of your voice
Your my choice, as scenes range
from mockery to fear
My mind races across the stage with you
as forks, knives and plates give chase
Your peasant green gown and apron
and crown of braided hair,
flying in hilarious despair.
Even as you crept upon the castle
eyes wide as if flickering
in Gaston’s torch.
I throw roses to the stage,
you’re the apple of my grandma days!

(Yes, two granddaughters in the same play. I’m busting at the seams!)
