Premium MemberFOURTH DOWN AND GOAL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kickoff hangs like a question mark~ sudden death rules apply. Fourth down, and the play clock’s ticking while the blitz crashes in, unblinking. A Hail Mary arcs through the frozen dark, a spiraling gamble against the sky. The end zone waits, arms wide or stark~ did it catch? The crowd holds its reply…
Premium MemberWhen They Go South, I Go North
Fog’s cleared, now think pink.
No snow,
however the show
will be
where I go.
Knee deep in cotton candy.
I will joyfully
kick up the flakes,
heaven’s sugar flakes
In the pink
with the Buffalo Bills.
Okay a footfall…shhhh
football ;)
Premium MemberWhen I saw Dilly dally
When I saw Dilly dally
I thought, "Oh no, this kid's got to rally!
Cuz if he loses this race,
it'll be a total disgrace,
cuz this race was right up his alley.
Premium MemberMy cat's mascot
I don't follow many sports.
I'm boring you see.
Samantha, my cat, does apparently.
In these Pennsylvania winters of snow and ice,
I may have watched hockey, once or twice.
I had a penguin ornament on my Christmas tree,
which suddenly vanished mysteriously..
It was as cute as it could be,
with a little Santa hat and scarf to greet me.
Some time ago it disappeared.
I may have discarded it I feared.
Today it suddenly reappeared.
Now I know what a smart cat I've got,
as Samantha has adopted it as her cat mascot.
Perhaps she's keeping it for good luck?
Now I have to go out and buy a cat puck..
Premium MemberWho Am I
Who am I?
I have a particular smell
One hundred and eight double stitches
All done by hand
I get retired after six pitches
I might be found in Wrigley’s field
sometimes I am hit with a hard crack
I land in a giant leather glove
or not
Premium MemberCardio-Rehab
Cardio-Rehab is an exceptionally good thing to do I keep up with machines better than walking with you With the newfangled treadmills I can see the world While I am getting nowhere fast, my sails unfurled, Yesterday, I walked a gorgeous park in old Indonesia Finished, I thought they should give me anesthesia, For I was completely tuckered out and needed a nap My blood pressure told them to give me another lap. I so enjoy the camaraderie of the old fellows like me, Who are exercising together instead of taking tea, If I had equipment at home, I’d likely not touch it It’s always so relaxing to grab a good book and sit, But now, I look forward to our gang at the center Working the machines until I’m forced to surrender!
Premium MemberJust Me and Simone Biles
Another contest
  despaired of my fate
So down and depressed
  threw up what I ate
Just me and Simone Biles
  'cept for 'one or two traits...'
I'd plumb forgotten
  how my pen thinks
By the time I remembered
  I'd run out of ink
So, Simone, my dear
  we've lots in common
We both lost our grip
  ~ then hit rock bottom
Premium MemberOldster Blows Past the Copper
Sorry officer, the old lady apologizes as she is stopped for speeding.
Her Chevy is rocking out to seventies music
A debonair old geezer in a sports car blows past them
going at least a hundred and ten
Officer looks exasperated.
Gets on walkie talkie
No answer.
Jumps on motorcycle and takes off
Woman texts her husband “Thanks sweetie!”
Premium MemberAbe Lincoln's Return
Abe Lincoln returned for a day
  He looked about him in his curious way
Mused to himself, must be mean pirates here
  Everyone and his sister sports a blue beard
Premium MemberThe Silent Pitch and Sportsmanship
It is not a conversation you overhear,
Like the questions rolling underfoot,
"Who goes there?".
You can see the grass has told
How tall to grow
To the chicory, dandelions and clover.
At the edge of the pitch
Where competition is stiff,
They grow bigger, taller and bolder;
Yet in each new match, every plant,
Agrees to a height and no taller.
Till in the next field over, where it's wild and fallowed,
It's to the death, all bets are off, and no foul.
Premium MemberCat-And-Mouse Peek-A-Boo
Cat-and-mouse
  Gloves held high
Can't see you
  Peek-a-boo
Gloves held high
  Block every punch
Can't get through
  Peek-a-boo
Drop your guard
  One split second
BAM POW SMASH
  A knock-out beckons
It's cat-and-mouse
  Move those feet
Then my jaw
  ~ Your fists greet
