The external influence that suggests and surrounds,
Take it all away and what have you found,
Lay your heart bare and what do you see,

Unknown layers… are mysteries of your soul

Peeling back layers brings you closer to your core and soul

Revealing your core shines light on your soul

My life, a sealed manuscript, buried under layers of mystery

My life, a sealed manuscript, buried under layers of mystery,
She arrived like a key of light, revealing hidden treasures,
In its unwritten pages, immortal stories awaited to come to life,
Calling a soul to read them, to bring them from shadow to dawn.
Now, she opens each line with her gentle breath, bringing rebirth,
Breathing life into this forgotten

Layers of Pain

Watching a loved one struggle with addiction is heartbreaking,
witnessing a life full of promise languish in the numbness provided
by mind altering substance is difficult enough
but frequently relying on the medical profession to save them
when the break down of the body that comes
with using harmful chemicals surfaces, is excrutiating
and sensing the full possibility of a young

Layers of the Unconscious Mind

In layers of the unconscious mind,
Where desire and fear are hard to find.
Through symbols and there metaphors,
We seek to find those open doors.

Through corridors of thought, we roam,
Hearts beating like a metronome.
A subconscious dream within a dream,
We search for truth in things we've seen.

The introspection we are searching for,
A message wrote in semaphore.

Life is built in layers:
layers of cells
layers of learning
of garbled words
and bruised steps
wingless flight
layers of temporary players
in and out of lives 
the mania and bliss of it all
layers of depression and prayer
layers of rings like a tree
thick rings of gain thin for loss
drought and rain 
layers of grief and joy
forgiveness and acceptance
doubt and faith

Layers of Life

Walking through the door of my childhood home
brought back tsunami of wisdom overture.
Tastes and colours in décor change with culture;
varied pallet of history in lands roam’.

My children had turned out to be a challenge
as they had early on displayed my talent
for examining and questioning latent
defects papered over; now seeking balance.

We’d a small, intimate wedding reception.

shallow things
Our world is a shallow but deep place with many

Are we in hell dreaming of heaven waiting for a

Keep peeling away my layers, my dear,
Unveil the depths beneath my soul,
But accept me, hug me,
In the rawness of my existence,
Not through the lens of your desires,
For I am more than your projections,

how did you let that little girl down?,

Coldness Up Layers Warmth

Coldness up layers Warmth

Sanctuary, in the early light and misty dawns
balance appearing untouched by fear and
doubt that crumbles in front of us in sudden
disillusionment.

Falseness, and bareness, capture the tears of another
pronouncing love in an unfamiliar way
confronting each day with uncertainty, containing
indifference finding in time, life was never
the way we thought it to be.

It didn't take long
every manager there
tried signing both men.
