there was a young cad named O’Byrne
who dallied with the lasses and then spurned
till one day he tangled with Molly
who wouldn’t put up with such folly
and poor ole O’Byrne got burned

The man who learns mauve from chartreuse
Is rendered quite gay by the news.
For courting sweet lasses
A man means amasses
That too many colors confuse.

Grasshopper and the ants were having a laid-back day
They did what they wanted, snoozing and snoring away
The meadow was breezily uplifting, sharing her grasses.
I like being here with my friends, the lads and the lasses.

"Be still my heart!"
The thunder, the splatter,
all the drenching liquid matter --
then the storm passes,
and out come beautiful lasses,
clipping roses for bonnets,
choosing beaus for dearer sonnets -- it's really about love --

This was written a few years ago for St. Patty's Day and posted:
If your favorite color is green and of the Emerald Isles you dream,
you might be Irish..
If you believe in leprechauns and fairies and hidden treasures that lay buried,
you might be Irish..
If you like your lasses bawdy and tell jokes a little naughty,
you might be Irish..
If you can dance an Irish jig and at the pubs your whiskey swig,
you might be Irish.
If your mom cooked an Irish stew and you just happened to be Catholic too,
you might be Irish..
If your name is Fitz, Riley, or O'Keefe, your definitely Irish, good grief!!
If not then just for this one day, we'll say your Irish any way..
Happy St. Patty's Day!!

Thank ye all fer coming te this feast
Many a fine lady accompanied by there beast
Enjoy your broth as a wee starter
Were joined together for friendship n banter
Followed by the ode to the haggis
Gentlemen give ya lasses a kiss
Neaps and tatties served with the meat
Veterans and serving here to meet
The pudding is Eton mess
All the lasses are wearing a dress
Athollbross is a drink of the dirt
Even the men can wear a skirt
I dinna Ken what burns is about
But I know that Scots scream n shout
I Ken the man was a jock poet
But how is haggis meant to be ate
A three legged monster running around the Glen
How it manages I dinne Ken
But once ye have caught this wee beast
I guarantee ya in for a feast
Thank you all for joining in
The piper lasse was amazing
Enjoy the music and the crack
Hopefully next year we'll be back

He rode a horse he got thrown off
Onto the ground his head hit first
In a pile of manure horses pie
On top of his head he lie
Looked like a derby hat yah!
Getty-ap
Laddie look like a hat he wore
But it was just a pile of manure
She was a fair black lady
At the hair dresser
The weather man say yesterday
It’s gonna be sunny and bright
Yet, when the young lady left out the hair dresser
It thundered and began to rain
Uncovered her hair got wet frizzled and fuff-up
She looked like a cotton ball, now all wet she wore a afro
Lasses look like she wearin a British hat

With silly smile, playing laptop keyboard
keys, I relay tales of brief, college bliss,
where days, like dry martinis, swiftly pass
lips that pucker for life’s capricious kiss.
My roommates bring joy and warm delight, like
late night Cheeto-fights to break-up study
drudgery - some chaos can counter stress,
though it makes a powdery-orange mess.
While we whirl and preen, when on party scenes,
we've embarked on the classic scholar’s quest.
We're earnest lasses, who pass-up passes -
well, some capitulate - we are human.
But I'm tempered by shame, and remembered
love's flame - and nightly I whisper his name.

Broken stem of a flower
Grafted in the rain shower
Placid Frozen desired passion
Roots of grounded lasses
Everlasting stand before the sun
Petals a blooms before The Shining of the Sun
Dawns the Moon
Cascade fully blossomed blue realignment in June

Three lasses by the wooden cross
all name Mary, were at a loss.
His death, a faith walk direction
from sin, for Christian perfection.
With tempests, it brews as they toss.

Tuesday lasses
we all have classes
get up and go
there’s no time to waste
join the flow
there’s no reason to wait
everyone’s hustling
coffee guzzling
bus shuttling
paper shuffling
syllabus assessing
apple-watch checking
there’s a fall-like feeling
making things more appealing
file off of the bus
and join the crush
trudging up science hill
thru the doors up the stairs
climbing in pairs,
in class, at last,
setup and relax.
I open my binder
and hand in the assignment
the guy beside me can’t find it.
and the TA moves on
the guy’s upset and I get it
he’s frantic and grim
I pretend I’m not watching him
as he ransacks his rucksack
too late, they’re taking roll
carelessness takes its toll

Missing you my fearless feline, safely may you return
Wishing that your Mission Impossible will soon adjourn
On this Memorial Day we salute cat ladies and lasses’

Racing the oval of tide
Watching the sun and moon collide
Riding on horses in the oval of fate
Saddling on courses in the ring of slate
Horses in breeds of colors and shade
Forces in creeds of odors and glade
Mares and lasses of cold and wintry grounds
Grasses and races on parch, dusty mounds
Sun speaks of myths and bounds of horses' blether
Moon tweaks on blithes and squally weather
Sun and moon are light and dark horses
Scuttling, bustling in many races
Sprinting is a long distance course
Glinting and weltering without remorse
Humans breathe as horses, treading and running with reins
Born to win in the oval... praying, striving with strong veins!

To all you sweet ladies of the Soup
I send each one of you my love and kisses
At my advanced age to feel such love
It's beyond words, it's purely delicious
You've no idea what you mean to me
Every day I feel your love flow
The happy day when I discovered the Soup
My heart started to glow
From that day to this, my life has changed
I wake up with a song in my heart
And it's all because of you sweet lasses
My sincere appreciation I impart
The day I discovered this wonderful site
Was a momentous day for me
It opened up a new chance to express
The love in my heart was set free
Now for you talented gentlemen out there
Sure feel quite at ease with you all
Kindred spirits is how I'd describe you
Each special friendship stands tall
Realize I didn't give you guys equal billing
But I'm partial to the ladies you see
They turn my crank, they bust my buttons
And fill this old heart with glee
