a crepuscular forest of shadows,
of fierce animal boding -
devout day-mare crossfire
Polar Bear Brigade manned their enormous 747 airplane.
They jumped in their warships and they sailed past Maine.
They were ready to take on congress or the prez or the police.
Their ice floats are melting! This is a travesty to say the least!
lizards mating die in electric lines
snakes coil hibernate lay eggs ---
dogs die crossing highways
same could be said of every animal
none is great when impulse strikes ---
could man claim exception?

exquisite butterfly on a rose bloom
sun glistens his scenic wings.
appears suave to take off.

Hello Mr. Snake how are you?
Here is my friend the mongoose.
He is always gentle.
Crayfish, insects, fish, aquatic plants too
Soft shell turtles in my day
Enjoy these things for lunch
Cattails dancing in a breeze by the creek;
Luring dragonflies to drink;
Nature’s beauty yells, “Hi!”
rabbit tracks darting coming to an end
saga scripted in relief...
wing imprints in the snow

He dreams of better days despite the fog.
The banging, clanging awaits,
to be catnip silenced.
Little fox my teacher, do you come here
Alone tonight in my dream
To prepare my courage?
Today’s task was successfully achieved;
Tomorrow’s is more daunting;
I dread its vicious bite.
Horses are very loyal beings with,
Hearts made of golden essence;
Man and horse, become one.
Cacophony of rage; hatchling is gone.
Mockingbird awaits its prey;
Cat may have a sore rear!
Tiny green baubles appear and will grow.
Tasty sugar pears await,
But, squirrels steal them all!
