I am grateful for understanding respect…
In this life I am completing…
It’s a message Jane Goodall taught
and it often bears repeating…
It is especially important in this time
as a topic for all our leaders to discuss:
When we show our respect for other living things
they respond with respect for us.
Jane learned that chimpanzees are much like us in many ways. They have families and feelings; they communicate and make tools. Chimpanzees actually share 98.6% of our DNA, proving they are indeed our closest relatives.
Regardless of the ethical dilemma, some geniuses thought chimpanzees would be ideal for medical experiments. We’ll never know how many were sacrificed in the name of science… But it turned out their immune system was vastly different from humans !
Thankfully many chimps slated for medical research were able to retire and live out many years safely in ideal sanctuaries. Chimpanzees are still an endangered species but their numbers are slowly rising thanks to Jane ~
Jane looked within
she saw kinship in their eyes
~ reclaimed their rights

I am grateful for having learned this simple lesson
that Jane Goodall embodied so beautifully…
When I show respect and love for other living things
they will return that respect and love to me
This is a day of sorrow.
Jane Goodall has passed away
I fell in love with her in 1970
When I saw her beautiful face
In an article dedicated to apes
I wrote her letters declaring
my undying love, but never did
she answer me
I walked the streets near home
No, I didn't go to the jungle as
I have a fear of gorillas when
They beat their chest
I have loved an impossible dream
Jane Goodall has prosopagnosia
Also called face blindness
She is unable to recognize faces
she acts like she recognizes everyone
In case she met you before
Interesting affliction for a world-famous anthropologist
Who studied chimpanzees and reported back
That they express facial expressions of emotions
Sadness, anger, frustration.
Is it only human faces she does not recognize?
Today’s blessing comes from Jane Goodall
words for all of us…all the other creatures…and for our planet’s sake:
What you do makes a difference
and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make
Watched a special, “Dr. Jane Goodall at a glimpse”
A gentle lady proved to the world how close we are to chimps
Dedicated to a solemn life chosen
A life of serenity and devotion
An amazing interaction that highlights a familiar imprint
Ms. Jane Goodall
A monkey kissed
The Snake was jealous
But he could only hiss
Now how can I propose this without
it coming out a cliché? I have been
watching something sensible about
Jane Goodall, a lady, it would seem
of such excellence that this old world
hardly deserves her. At a time of war,
a coarse time, brutality, we are told
is the price of peace. Such reverse lore
pushed by men of a nature so worldly,
are direct descendants of the snake before
Eden. Rejecting peaceful community,
consensus, or any of the attributes for
which women like Jane shine. I do believe
'twas Adam the snake set upon to deceive.
