Jacob. Poems | Examples

Genesis 29

over 2 years have past now.
i serve my time everyday,
not knowing my offence.

i work everyday to meet your needs.
how long lord, how long….
my beautiful Rachel.

i am not Jacob in this story,
i stand the place of Esau,
what was mine taken by Jacob.
still i will suffer for Rachel,
for the love that once burned hot in winter.

it has not yet been 7 years.
so is there still a slight possibility?
not only i be with you in dreams,
a life of fulfilled desires,
for it has only been a few days.

we were only children,
playing in the frosty air.
now we are young adults,
separated in this life that is unfair.

Premium Member jacob and his guitar

Jacob and his guitar sat down on magestic mars
strummed their tune to the delight of the stars
the earth got silent, her orange showing through
he was adorable, sincere, melodic, and innocent true.

Jacob

A wrestling River
has run its cause
A quick recce
and all is sorted
Be not a Miner or mariner
for promises they cannot meet

The spite of the bitter leaves
up to the knee
With a scheming
and storm in a teacup
I was thinking too fast
With a sinking of peculiarities underscored
Jacob has drawn my blood
but with a wink and a guile
perhaps we can grin
après moi le deluge

Jacob

In quiet nights I feel the space
Where laughter danced now leaves a trace.

Your smile a light that used to shine
A bond so strong forever mine.

Though time has passed and you are gone
In every heart your spirit’s drawn.

I search for you in whispered sighs
In dreams that weave through starry skies.

You may not share my blood or name
But love remains it feels the same.

In every tear in every prayer
I hold you close I know you’re there.

Premium Member Jacob was Whisked Away by Aliens

Jacob was minding his orchard the other day
When snickeroo snackeroo he was snatched away
The apples said “Dang! Those aliens don’t play!”
Whisked into a spaceship, taken beyond the Milky Way

His faithful dog was the only one to tell the tale to his wife Kay
She did not fully understand his hound, Old Yeller Gray
But had the feeling Jacob was completely gone that day.
A terrifying tale relayed to me by my horrible cousin Fay.

Premium Member Poker

All cards are on the table
Esau holds kings and queens
His secular greatness is swift
Many chiefs reign in Edom

Jacob draws but two's and three's
His family lags behind in Egypt
Becoming slaves to Pharaoh
Is God playing the losing hand?

Small beginnings deceive
Spirtual greatness comes later
Demanding patience and faith
Until His Royal Flush appears

Jesus holds the Key of David
He is worthy to take the scroll
And to open its seals
Eclipsing secular greatness

His blood purchased for God
From every tribe and nation
A kingdom of priests to serve
And to reign on the earth

His last hand is winner-take-all
So, ask yourself this,
"Do I really want to play poker
with Almighty God?"

God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

Jehovah our God !
Creator of the people of  colours.
We pray to You on the mountains
We pray to You in the valleys
We pray to You on the seas
You are our Father.

The God who appointed Messenger
prophet John Mwambi Mulaya
The God who chose Messenger
 prophet Simon Kimbangu
The God who met with our ancestor
 Messenger prophet  Moses
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
You are the living God,
Transform this World,
Oh!Dear Lord

The God of holy prophets and apostles
You always kind to us
Your name be glorified
On earth and in heavens
Amen.

Kiss of Wisdom Blocked By God

I could prove a point thought misbegotten,
For long years packaged as Flatly Rotten,
I myself judged a spiritual loser;
Indeed, an Abhorrent option chooser!

But why, God had said so: "Esau I hate."
So, all his damned mistakes had flowed from Fate
"What's my birthright to me now that I'm dead?"
One, who just in the morning, had not fed!

"Right, agreed, you're Esau, then call Jacob"
Lion Jacob would have turned helpless cub!

Why hadn't Isaac Dad remembered this?
Lord God had that moment blocked Wisdom's kiss!

Premium Member Jacob - Israel's - Ladder

Angels ascend
winging their way up the ladder

    At the top, the Almighty
Ruler of corporeal and spiritual matter

Jacob - at the bottom - stands on two feet
His mind in the heavens, seeking the Godhead to meet

Breaking Dawn

Its dark, the woods

Jacob sits beside the campfire thinking of all his miseries. A rainbow of thoughts of which one draws attention. "Why". The cackling of fire can still be heard. The thought taunts him.

A brief moment of silence, the cackling fades, no howls, no moon, emptyness. He has let it go, the thoughts. At that moment Jacob stops caring, His selfishness dead.

Renesmee..the fire reflects off her perfect face , as radiant as the sun. Her cheeks rosier than the reddest of the roses she outruns them all human or not.

Her heartbeats echo my name calling me closer. The future flashes in front of me. The glimpses i can't wait to see. Imprinting...this is what it is

It feels something like never before.. Knowing the world isnt about him, the story isnt about him. Jacob is not Jacob anymore, not just the creature of night,he is the author.

Jacob

If you were wondering where I went
I did not give up
I am still fighting God
And Dawn is coming fast
When I am all rested I will be back
We will have a lot of fun
We will talk of the good old days
I will be the truth
I will ask Your forgiveness
I will heal your anger
Dawn is coming fast
But I am still fighting God
I have to go
I will see you soon.

Twilight

Let the day always fade says Jacob as he watches the moonrise. The nightsky twinkling, simple yet astonishing. He looks at the moon, tensed, not knowing what to say. He looks

A tiny shiver of what might come next. As the words disappear, it intensifies. He screams and cries, to the moon

But little does he know, the moon belongs to the night.

For he, under the vast violet sky, is but a wolf.

Nothing To Add This Week

I
A flood here, wars over there, and there ...
I love Jesus, but U fight to breathe, so unfair

II
Lord Jesus, You give me reasons to rise
Help Ukraine, all victims, even the unwise

III
The sad state of South Africa, the world
The Grace in your words, prayer unfurled
