Unceasingly there is evil and malice in this world,
Waiting for the perfect chance to betray and corrupt.
Even in golden days, when all dwell in happiness and light
Will there be denizens of the night and of deep dark places
Where light is shunned and hope goes to suffer a torturous demise.
But as long as evil broods and waits in contempt of all,
So will there be champions of good and pioneers of virtue,
Seeking out the cruel shadows of the night and besieging their foul strongholds.
For in the days of darkness when hope has failed all,
And dread lords stand tall and pool their might
To spoil the land with filth and decay,
So will stand bastions of valor who defend the helpless,
And maintain unflagging morals in the face of wrath and despair.
Around a winter fire’s flames
That in the night did glow,
We sat and waited for the words
of "Once, long long ago..."
The wind roamed through the forest trees
As beams of moonlight fell.
My fingers twisted in the snow
As midnight cast its spell.
We saw the graves of ancient kings
Now resting with their scars,
We heard the legends of their lives
Beneath the winter stars.
We watched as poets penned each phrase
In words that still do last,
And saw the dreamers dream their dreams,
The dreamers of the past.
So years have gone, and I look back
At ashes in the snow,
Where fires burned till late at night
With tales of long ago.
The wind still roams among those trees
And stars still come at eve,
And when the winter dusk returns
I don my coat and leave.
I walk the oh so well known path
Still white with timeless snow,
And far ahead, between the trees,
I see the fire’s glow.
As once I waited in the ring
For night to cast its spell,
As once I listened to the tales
It’s now my turn to tell.
Stung,
twice,
not to stride
upon the scorpion
A single star
hangs on
ample to clutch
the falling trousers of Orion
Place
me in the night sky
Authority higher than I
there it cannot attack
But
lend me a sword
for my battle dress
as the night people stare
Let
me gaze below
to ponder the city lights
search for answers
What with all the
probes darting the Arctic Lights?
the solutions are not here
Let me seek
myself
from the Heavens looking down

Sweet velvet chocolate taste
A warm night breeze across your face
A new born baby's very first smile
Children playing all the while
Birds flying in the sky
Wishing wells where waters lie
Oceans deep and oh so blue
Brilliant sunshine gleaming through
The moon the stars
They shine so bright
Turns the black night sky to light
A twinkle in ones eye of joy
A smile that offers love
The smell of flowers in full bloom
So fragrant they are, they fill the room
Be still, and feel your own heart beat
Celebrate your life
Take time to notice

Saturday night sinners belly up to the bar
Not a worry, not a care
Come Sunday morning, it will all be alight
Heading to church in a fancy car
Got to get there before the Jones get there
And forget about last night
Saturday night juke box, now singing in the choir
Halo is crooked and nose in the air
After the sermon, got to go teach Sunday school
Warning sinners of Hell's burning fire
"Oh how they need a prayer"
"We are so blessed living by our Golden Rule"
The preacher is preaching the Holy Word
Worn to a frazzle with his last request
"Who is going to pay for this new church wing"
And the plate is passed through the herd
But they do their best
And the preacher tells the choir to sing
Down the street, in the shade of an old oak tree
Down on his knees, a sinner is praying
In a church built by God
"Lord, will you please forgive me"
"I hope that you can hear what I am saying"
Wonder who is the most believed by God"
What is the sound that I hear, the early call of the sparrow? their music is very
clear. Last nite-I heard gunfire and yes that's typical as in my neighborhood we all
live with fear. But each morning the mocking bird's makes noice of cheer. What
is that sound I hear, are they singing a tune of triumphant that seems to help ease
my fear. As the siren's and emergency personal pour into the hood, someone has
died, O'that point is very clear.
As another night of voilence-young folk's and old playing against the noon-early
in the morning the birds of prey, play's another tune. Jacksonville, once a proud new
city sparrowling with the promises of a Dreamer's dream. "Now the time has come-do
we take back or do we all cry". The sun will still shine tomorrow-but for many in the
city they all are asking why. Why is my young daughter hurting or my son spending
this night in the morgue, "do we take back the city, or do we all cry".
"Yes the Time has Come, will all ye pastor's not worry about the trouble or the crime".
But will your prayers help motivate some, give strenth that's excruciating to everyone.
"The time has come, apply yourself, before the rise of the Sun".
COMING HOME
The sun cast a shadow
across the floor.
Its day break you see
and I’m alive once more.
When at night
I fall asleep
The moon and the stars do seem to creep.
I hear the crickets and the night
Sounds are near
It’s dark,
I’m alone
But what do I fear?
I’m on my knees again
You see
I thank you dear Lord
For loving me.
You gave me the sun
The stars and the moon,
You love me dear Lord
I’m coming home soon.

ON MY KNEES AGAIN
I thank you Lord for giving me
A chance to thank you on my knee
When at night I do forget
I wake and know I will regret
To thank you for this very day
I pray you hear me when I say
I thank you Lord for everything.
I have to thank you for the bad
But Lord I know you’ll always be
Beside me always loving me.
You are the light within my soul
I’ll shout it from the highest knoll.
When things don’t go the way I plan,
I wait for you Lord, yes I can.
At night I need to let it be
Don’t take it back Lord
You shall see.
That when I give it back to you
I need to wait and let it be,
You’ll answer ever prayer I say
But always when it’s Your own way.

Where there is faith there is a peace, like a clam starry night.
With full moon shining, on the snowy field.
Where there is faith, Jesus is within his arms open wide.
Holding us through the storm nights ,when the storm seems to much to bear.
He brings us light into the storm, where we can see the snow filled night sky. Where there is faith all thing are possible, with the love of Christ.
We can see our Jesus, on that starry full moonlit night
with just a little faith we can return too heaven holy light..
It's just the stars in the sky oh how I
look so high I can't wait till night fall
to crawl in bed with the weight of the day
on my head but when I look into the night
all the stars shine so bright I feel so safe
so calm so at peace when the stars and my
eyes meet sometimes I wonder do they help
me sleep do they see me when I weep I know
this is not true yet I think the stars has
something to do with the magic in the mid-
night air when I look at the stars I lay there
without a care just starring in the mid
night air when the morning comes all we see
is the sun just can't wait to night fall to
lay among the stars hoping just to see them all
before I fall fast asleep once I see them
my cares my worries began to seep as I fall
fast asleep.
