“Tearful night prayer sounds devour darken maze of memories of love steal the slumber leaving behind loneliness.” Quote by poet
Heartbroken sorrow, pleading in tearful
Emotional, goodbye as life still goes on.
Beneath cold twilight night’s sweet scent
With utter shadowed obscurity stillness
Spread mournful utter poetic quiet love
As tears weave through the teal blue sea
Forcing acoustic waves and foam settle inshore.
Steps lost in nostalgic memories of youth.
A sea mist rolls inshore this morning
The optician proposes a cataract op
...with apologies to Ogden Nash
You think you may have missed the astounding
part of you.
The high tide.
Thoughts and things you had missed,
because of you, little gifts not written down.
Lazy, never-to-be-spoken poetry.
Perhaps an intra-personal disagree
caused an absolute apogee.
And so high the low whale, wary of the deep,
but also, the shore,
will speak forevermore.
A whale of an idea for those
terrestrial walkers of beaches,
and for those who walk inshore.
I offer something more…
If you find nothing you can hold in your hand,
then think again.
And pray that the last gasp from
the blowhole of a whale
will bring you back to high tide,
and pull you back in.

DRIFTING
our
feelings
subside as
we go with the
flow
Sea spray crashes against the harbour walls
The wind is rising in anger
Song birds seek out other concert halls
Away from the waves of fear
Clouds gather slowly out along the coast
Making the journey inshore
Covering the land we love the most
Away from the waves of fear
Fishing boats as one make a break for home
Ahead of the angry tempest
Leaving the storm to the waters alone
To face the waves of fear
The waves have risen to a record height
Fear is instilled in all
Punishing the land with all of it’s might
Using those waves of fear
Homes are secured from the predator outside
Occupants safe within
Destiny lays ruined as storms collide
Double the waves of fear
The violence abates throughout the night
Cautiously greets the dawn
The strewn beach is a colourful sight
Thanks to the waves of fear
