Premium Member Dating and Data Networking

The information highway is paved with hope,
With heavy traffic towards love's embrace.
So while the ghosts of romance past lingers,
The digital domain is stocked full for every case.

It's like the Dating Game on cyber-steroids,
As singles mingle among all the apps.
Where their fingers do all the walking,
While trying to avoid the catfish traps.

This goes way beyond phone sex, to
Levels bound only by infinite fantasy.
Causing many to rely on wishful thinking,
And the rest to struggle with celibacy.

It's the 21st century version as a virtual
Bar scene, without the booze or barmaid.
Yet also absent are the drunks & bar fights,
So all things considered, it's a relatively safe crusade.

These characteristics highlight a main issue,
To where there's no real connection most of the time.
Just some fabricated stories behind the messages,
Leading one another on, to an unknown crime.

Information Highway Overload

In my possession

Right here right now

In the palm of my hand

At the click of a button

Simply tapping keys

Institaneously a seemingly limitless

And insurmountable stream of knowledge

And information i am able to access

The only problem I am now personally finding

Is deciphering the difference between

Which is true and which is fake

As both sides can not be both right

2 sides to every story

Problem is if you listen to both

It sometimes leaves me feeling even

More confused than when I started

Trying to find my own answers

1 says this the other 1 counters

It with something else completely different

And it has become so hard to distinguish

Between the 2 even with all the facts

Because to much information

Can blur the lines and work against

You discovering either way

What you initially began starting out

To find the answers to

In the end it leaves you back to square 1

Having to decide and choose for yourself

What you believe in and think

Is wrong or right

Troubled

You may be troubled by my questions
You may label and misconstrue my words
You may say hateful things about me
Obviously, your emotions hinder everything you've heard

I just want to clarify and evaluate
I want to listen so I can learn
I want to give you and I a unique opportunity
To self correct; to grow beyond today's intellectual curve

Do you think we want true answers?
Or beliefs based without whys?
Perhaps we just want to feel good?
Avoiding reality, all-the-while sacrificing precious time

My answers are indifferent to my desires
I gather truths and let misconceptions go
I believe to have faith is to concede
With a pithy response, “only the good Lord really knows”

Where is the great wisdom that's become lost in our knowledge
The information highway struggles in complete emotional disarray
We value feelings over life's harsh realities
Hence, there's a great price we all pay

So, you may be troubled by my questions
You may label and misconstrue my words
You may say hateful things about me
Obviously, your emotions hinder everything you've heard

A New Dawn

A new dawn.

When we all have virtual reality;
The next step in our technological evolution,
Will be to attain a sort of telepathy,
Where our mind is connected directly into the internet
And then who knows what comes next?

Our brains will seek information along the information highway
And our thoughts will be uploaded directly into the internet.
We will create our own type of diary, the thoughts of us all;
Then the final connections will be made
And completely change our planet.

A new way of thinking and seeing things differently;
The olden days will fade away to become our history.
The robots will be born and humanity will grow lazy;
Spending more time in this new reality.
Our second lives will become our actuality.

We are just about to take one step forward for mankind
And our movements will be controlled, by the thoughts within our mind.
Our subconscious will be more prevalent than it ever has before
And upon us will be thrust a new dawn.

Tonight's Trainwreck

For the shock and amusement of all today,
coming to us live on the information highway
our hero's put his sickness on display
so we may dine on his feet of clay

We judge, we laugh, we shake our heads
as we shuffle off to our comfy beds
feeling good it's not us instead
that the bloggers will begin to shred

By the grace of God, it's him, not you
for his disease, it misses very few
which hero will be the next on deck
to be the internet's new train wreck?

Strange New World

How things have changed!
The old verities no longer apply
Our world has evolved
and we must adapt
Electricity connects the whole planer
One can get in touch with people in almost all lands
within seconds
The internet reaches around the globe
The "information highway" makes for a smaller world
A world we may well leave soon in space vehicles
Space travel will change from
the province of a few individuals
to the province of billions of Earth dwellers
We are making the earth
unsuitable for habitation
We must change or be destroyed
by forces of our own making
We may be forced to leave Spaceship Earth
in order for our species to survive!

Information Highway

Magic moments can disappear in a flash

On a digital camera of modern technology

Screening memories placed in files and saved

Mentally sterile conversations mailed in text

Without feeling or emotion sent quickly in a rush

In between surfing the net of cyber sex

Dating make believe strangers who promise love

While hunting for lust pretending to care in the real world

With made up names playing online games

Ramming the hard drive for more information overload

Exploding the motherboard of invention
