CINQUAIN
The poetic, poetizes the sea.
the romantic, loves the sea...
The sadist arms the sea... !
Shall we acquiesce to mornings first glow in flight
To the flags of yellow golden daffodils lined in a row
Flowing over mothers’ soft hills on new born grass
Like tiny soldiers at attention on the milky dawn
Elsewhere over the marbled planet surface blue
Where baby dolphins jump from the womb
From their home of salted liquid depths
Only to land in a splash to ocean’s laughter
Harmonized with giggles from children on a day trip
Watching with wide eyes from somewhere ever after
If not on the iron boat deck wide awake
Surely students would be beneath the waters deep
Out at sea is no place for little children, trip or not
Should a storm arise upon the morning
Ships are known to sink without a warning
No matter what the acquiescence inclinations are
No matter how delightful nature seems to be
Or how high the dolphins leap to leave the sea
Safety should always be our first consideration
Regarding such destinations and flights in levity
*Note: (If only dolphins and children could fly away to distant destinations. If only flowers could retain their yellow. What a different world this would be.
Inclinations Of Fan
Ceiling fan mesmerized the day’s hypnotic flashings
Sunlight fractured through rotating blades
Someone must have traduced it with black magic
Or a switch turned on when we weren't looking
False currants of air, created up there
Pretending to be wind inside the room
Are merely fabrications of the ceiling fan
Humming complacently about a motor at its core
Variable speeds at war with nature
Pretending to be wind is such a sin
Slow, medium, fast… won’t last forever
Ceiling fan will stop one day for many reasons
Electric cost is at the top
An condition unit will replace it for a time
When the grid goes out by bombs or hackers
Paper fans will do just fine
Hummingbird Inclinations
Hummingbirds make blues and reds more vivid
Thin tongues dipped in sweet delicious depths
Hovering above their favorite thing
Who knew flowers could be so tasty
With beaks sunk deep into the sacred sanctuary
Nectar makes the perfect breakfast at great speeds
Hummingbirds take risks and chances being out in day
They are so cute and tiny on the wing
Bird snatchers are dangerous nasty people
With nets they could catch them and make them sing
Keep them from Mother Nature in the spring
Hold them for ransom or other felonious things
That snatchers are known to do
Hummingbirds fly backwards in time
With gentle precision and inclinations
To find flowers they left behind
They stir up images of oranges and yellows as they fly
And paint a pretty picture in our minds
I wander between times
inside outside of space
isolated by longings
imminent passions rise
incited by hunger
inviting her desire
in future memories
