CHICKA MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL

What will I do without you?
My beautiful angel girl
Sometimes you get into mischief
And you surely like to eat, especially doughnuts
You were always faithful since day one
In your younger days
You were always full of fun
And in the meantime
 I knew you were getting older
And you started to slow down
When I called your name, it was hard

Wings

If I had wings to fly,
I'd breathe in deep
and spread them wide
as I leap from the cliff
into the wind
where the seagulls glide.

Crossing this wide sea
I glide above cruel waves
that reach up 
to drown my flight 
in their cold and deep
blue-green graves.

And as your day grows slowly light
I'd arrive on worn-out wings
to hold you in your

As I look at the stars at night
and dream of what is to be,
my heart begins to smile
for it is you I see.

Knowing that you're close,
yet so far away,
I dream of you at night
and think about you every day.

For, every moment without you
seems like an eternity.
I dream of the day we kiss
and I can hold

I miss your call
As I drink coffee
And smoke cigarettes
In this bar

Your soul is powerful
I need your vibe
To give me some warmth
This monday evening.

In The Rain

I stand in the rain
Unready to start again
The chilling breeze
Brings me to my knees
I light a fire but it burns out
Casting me in the shadow of doubt
Your smile used to light up my heart
Now the memory rips it apart
Ten years ago you went away
As I simmer in the turmoil of that memorial today
I can hear

The Pier Can't Always Keep You Where It Wants You To Be

You stand with your suitcase like a buoy,
bright, bobbing in the shallows,
and I am the pier—
rooted, barnacled, smelling of old salt and rope.

You tell me you’ll stay
if I keep my hands wrapped round your ankles,
but I know the tide you carry in your ribs.
Even on windless days
it pounds against my palms,
shouting for the open mouth

Not the Same

I'll hold the fort down while you're gone
And while you are I'll carry on
But know that you'll be thought about 
And thought about and thought about 

Your spot on stage though be it near 
Won't be the same unless your here 
For no one cheese and bread I'll bring
Until when you come back to sing

Bits and pieces

I'm looking for you in bits and pieces 
In someone's height, in someone's face
In someone's cry and in someone's grace
I crave your trace
This never ending yearning won't stop till I find
The one that I can finally call mine

I'm missing you all over again
And it's not because you gave me hope
It's not because I love you more now

I miss you every day, especially at night
And it's because I gave myself hope
Because I saw you, now I see you everywhere

Unspoken

I broke a promise today.
Hid myself in the folds of the room,
corners that don’t echo your name.
Secrets settled in the walls—
old love, still breathing beside me.

Nothing cuts deeper
than hearing you name
what you want from me—
like I’m clay you keep
trying to soften.

And nothing feels smaller
than the shape of a hand

Over Heated

Woke on the wrong side —
a restless bed,
skin warm like summer sun,
a stomach twisting softly,
aching with quiet longing.

Trying to taste the day —
flavors fall away,
waiting for evening’s slow light
to open the door again.

Sadness lingers —
a gentle ghost inside,
her voice soft in the silence,
a shadow I hold close.

I reach —
to touch the place
where I feel whole,

A Year Has Past

Nothing beats the summer breeze 
The memories of the ones who leave 
Lotus flowers smile at me
Saying this will pass, you’ll come to see 
Walking in a forest with my shoes in my bag 
Wishing I were leaving the town that I have

Empty,
Barren ribcage-
Hollow in your absence.
Rhythmic echoes of a love lost.
No tenant could compare to you, my love.
In vain, I try to fill the void.
Dusty room, in ruins-
