loud, victory’s cry
amidst the hullaballoo
weep the souls they slew

Dolphin women joined the pink convent
It was a hullaballoo, said my cousin Kent.
The dolphin men tried to crash in too.
But alas, they were turned away in Kalamazoo.
I hear they wear pink hoods and capes said one.
That’s a rumor said my auntie whose name is Munn.
The men are all about trying to get in is what I heard.
They are acting crazy about it, silly, kind of absurd.

The flop and flurry of wide, woozy wings
clatters over dawn hedgerows.
Claws scrabble, feathers flounce.
An ounce of twitters rebounds
into raucous sound.
Here a rowdy cackle,
here a coddled coo,
there a deeply fluted hoo-hoo
all together in a ruffled flutter.
Birdsongs pump up,
light airy balloons into chattering tunes.
The sky jitterbugs a cloud or two.
Listen, listen do,
Listen to the hullaballoo
the mad glad galloping away of a musical play
where the singalong nips
at our ears with catcalls and cheers.
Another teaming twitter and fuss
strikes up its band for us.
Another cacophonic day lurches
as sleepy birds and the wide awake
gleefully roll off
their nocturnal perches.

No bash so far, beats the one in the jar
Emcee DJ Green spins for the jarstar
No ill will to spill, just dancing on dill
When the lid comes off it’s an open bar!
So relish your time and come get your fill
No asparagus juice here, that’s just swill
That’s the best party perk of a gherkin
Gettin’ sliced on garlic, Oh what a thrill!
The sweet ones are in the corner lurkin’
While that gherkins workin’ it and twerkin’
I’m already so brined out of my mind
And the bread and butter kind is smirkin’
I’m so pickled my vision has declined
To kaleidoscopically half blind
Stumble and bump into pals in numbers
A hullaballoo of the tangy kind
Off to our shelf in the door we lumber
To catch some refrigerated slumber
May have had too many vinegar shots
Since yesterday…. I was a cucumber

Muppet Crazy Harry does not seem as odd these days
Maybe because of so many fads and no one is ever fazed.
He pulled his tricks along with bizarre antics too.
Meant very little next to the world’s biggest hullaballoo.
You have to be even crazier, I gave Muppet Crazy Harry as advice.
I am being as off kilter as I can he said, warming up some Kona ice.
You have to step it up a notch, or two or three or four, I told him.
You have so much competition now, people do things on a whim.

Looking forward all winter for my vacation
A three-day excursion put on by We Are One Nation
We parked our RV’S near the foothill,
then hiked and climbed top of the cliff and met Will
When the sign appeared Reggae Pon the Mountain,
we were quickly escorted to the water fountain
Come and jam to the tunes of the Marleys
Hanga-langa and check out the Harleys
The Jamaican food—colorful, soulful—sublime
One look and I knew right away I would need more time
to enjoy Reggae 'Pon The Mountain
We bought masks, jewelry and tasted the cookies
Ingredients pure, strong, overwhelmed—we felt like rookies
C’mon stay mon, enjoy the music all day, sangalanga on Topanga
You know the Canyon known for the rock-stars?
Three days of festive delight, tonight be romantic, sleep in your cars!
Our host thanked us and said Jah be with you, Rastafari
We waved as he drove off in his Ferrari
We’ll be back tomorrow for the Caribbean callaloo
where we’ll stay all day and enjoy the hullaballoo
A music festival up on the mountain

Billy Bob Bear was on an adventure on a bright, breezy day
Birds and bees swarmed in to light his path, to show him the way
Bunnies were hopping along, in a hippity hoppy sashay.
It was going to be an adventure that would make him laugh and play.
His cousin Big Burly Ben came along and asked if he could go too.
As pirates, they sailed a ship round the bend, with a hullaballoo.
I’m on board said his friend, Bitsy Bumblebee Bear, fingers full of goo.
She brought honey cakes and a picnic basket with an emblem of blue.
Bees and birds were intrigued, entranced and followed the crew.
Sailed from New York to Cape Canaveral before they were through.
They washed their laundry in the ocean, also where they took a pooh.
They had a great time playing a guitar also, these cousins, bears two.
Oh, maybe I forgot to mention that after their lunch Bitsy did not fit.
They had gotten bigger; the bunnies had joined them post-knit.
Billy Bob and Big Ben welcomed then, pretended to be close knit.
For they needed tasty lunches, on their adventure, post wit.

It was a good morning until
kids outside threw big rocks into
our room, leaving glass neath the sill.
What hullaballoo we went through!
Auntie Em passed out with a yell.
Our uncle, who stood near his wife,
with his crutches - to the floor fell.
My cousin screamed, "Run for your life!"
He thought he was back in Iraq,
for PST syndrome he had.
Poor Grandpa he tried to attack.
I swear I saw blood. It was BAD!

His hair starting to recede,
his lips a thin line,
his hands always carrying a gun,
he's got Clint Eastwood eye's,
He'll turn the tables on you,
you had better think twice,
either giving you a punch,
or rolling you like your dice,
And he'll sneeze at you,
just to tease you,
says' "you better freeze or I'll shoot you"
he's ferocious,
and he knows just what it takes to make a pro run,
he's got a Dirty Harry 45 magnum at his side,
he's got Clint Eastwood eye's,
He's either good, bad, or ugly,
you can take your pick,
starring in spaghetti westerns,
most of which turned out to be hits,
And he'll stare at you
and he'll glare at you,
squinting because of all the crime hullaballoo,
running after all the bad guys,
while you sit in your easy chair and eat your buttered popcorn,
he's aged a bit which is a crime,
yet he's still got Clint Eastwood eyes!

MacJock looked uptight
When we said "That's not right,
We're not paying one pence you see"
Den Finn swung and missed
With his powerful fist
And it landed on the jaw of McGee
MacJock grabbed a bottle
Intending to throttle
The closest poor sod in his way
And this caused a ruckus
McGee was so luckless
It certainly wasn't his day
But when Macjock hit McGee
He went flying you see
And busted MacJock's new table
Then McGee tossed a chair
Clear through the air
Hoping MacJock to disable
The others ensued
In this Hullaballoo
Until, all I could see was the brawl
There were glasses and mugs
Bottles and jugs
Smashing against every wall
The place was a mess
I sure can attest
When the fightin' came to its end
Not an eye was still blinking
So I started thinking
Dat its tyme to go 'ome un mend
Just one more part will end it

And it held the firecracker like a runner with a torch
But never did it light it like scaredy-cat, stalked.
Month afresh year afresh
It held its breath, uncertain
Hullaballoo zodiacking but still remained perturbed!
They say it took the name of god of gates and doors
Deity of openings and new beginnings, horrors!
Hurrah it stands aloof and never will it soar!
This month shakily peeped through the hole, damned!
And watched the Romans gloriously slaughter their lambs.

The winter stage is dressed in tones of white
Everywhere is quiet everywhere is bright
Houses are adorned with lights of every hue
To celebrate the Christmas hullaballoo
And the starry sky on a frost filled night
Is in truth the most wonderful sight
A sky that held the star they had to follow
Over two thousand Christmas skies ago
