You and me we could take a slow boat to China
don't need an ocean liner it's only a stone's throw
where nothing would be finer
than to see all the tea in Shanghai flow
and share a Chinese takeaway in a hideaway
so if I know you that's where we'll go
and we'll run in the rain or sit soaking up the sun
there's only one thing when all is said and done
I'm the kind of feller who shares his umbrella
no strings attached let's see if we're matched
and if we're matched we'll have us some fun
it's no big to-do I only want fun with you
fun in the sun or under the moon
take it on the run whichever way it comes
or me and you too could sail slowly down the Nile
smiling all the while like a pair of crocodiles
and when we reach Cairo wave and say, "Hello,"
to the sphinx and the old Pharaoh
we'll keep it casual no 'putting on the Ritz'
come be with me then we'll see
if the shoe fits and if the shoe fits
when all is said and done yes it's true
I have to say every night and day
I only want fun with you
Absorb the peace
Quiet and coolness
Nature's secret.
Let's build a house together
Up on a mountainside
A shelter from the weather
A place where we can hide
A picture window facing west
That's where we'll see the sunsets best
A clear view of the stars at night
Though only you are in my sight
And then one facing eastern skies
To catch the sunrise through your eyes
A gentle kiss, a little play
Good morning from our hideaway
But I won't hide myself from you
All I am is yours to view
My heart I give just as it stands
Hold onto it with gentle hands
And after many years have passed
You'll see my love for you did last
It wasn't just a thing I'd say
I knew I loved you that first day
HIDEAWAY
a
definitive
tendency
to impute
a
significant
reverence
to
detail
discovery
&
its rarity
to the
particular
beautiful
revelatory
& restored
the novelty
&
tantalising
significance
of
reality
of
being
alive
NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.

sheltered in the blooms
a refuge in calm arbor
soundless, with lush scents
a cool, green respite
like frogs on jade lily pads
I may never leave
noonday's crimson heat
cannot find my safe haven
wisteria blue
You calls me by the window that shimmer
I am afraid to chase your glimmer
Still likes to see you from faraway
Then you went to hideaway
unknown to anyone
down a convoluted secret path
in a hidden corner of my heart
it's there and waits for me
beneath a summer sun
the playground of my youth
and when quietly I listen
I still hear the sweet melody
of children's laughter
AP: 2nd place 2021
it is drizzling outside
oak tree looks in window
gasoline lamp is not unlike a faerie light
cozy comforter made by grandma
plush pillows on couch
a philodendron hangs from the limb of the tree trunk
this tree house is my Shangri-La
My haven, a writer’s retreat
flickering candles give it an ethereal glow
My favorite biographies and adventure books
Waiting to be read in the rain
It is silent here, a reader’s alcove
There are flickering candles
I read my books, enjoying the ambiance
of my hideaway nook high in a cottonwood tree.
I spot the tunnel
tis is not bright
alas a runnel
it's in my sight
fear of runners
in the park
leery of gunners
after dark
Mobsters Ball
it is a panic
the bathroom stall
a hustler manic
now I'll close in
nowhere to hide
a rat's den
no tears have dried
something disguised
what can that be
yellow eyes
staring at me
I can't afford
to be frenzied
there is a board
I'll ward off the envied
now I will run
back to my dome
monster I did stun
my hideaway home
From the stony fields with lavender rising
White butterflies alight atop each bouquet
While speckled ladybugs frolic to aroma's flower
Shantelle's hideaway spreads before the gaze
Within her name blooms a friendly stillness
Envisaged within the heathered rocks strewn
To peruse upon such stunning tranquility
And conjure placid songs it issues within
Her gilded aurelian, flaxen curls course
To frame her blanched, ceramic fairness
The grace of limb and carriage pose and amble
As the cottony swaying of its gentle grasses
Our desired perfection seeking sequence in her image
Eternally bequeath love, joy and gratitude
For Inevitable kindness lights this humble path
To the gate of paradigm that leads to Shantelle's hideaway

Late afternoon – at twilight’s edge
we drift toward a secluded beach
on gentle waves of blue and green.
We leave the boat; then hand in hand,
along the sandy shore we stroll
as sky above gleams tangerine.
We see the cottage up ahead.
It seems as if sweet summer sighs
because we feel its cooling breeze.
Anticipation moves our feet.
We find ourselves outside the door.
A night of bliss we soon shall seize.
We hold each other as we watch
the final fading of sun’s gleam
into the sea; the day is done.
Night brings the moon and glitter stars.
Into our hideaway we go,
and joy prevails, for we are one.

everything I ever saw
everything I ever knew
everything I ever saw
I could tell it was for you
everything I ever had
everything I've ever done
Everything just makes me sad
All I want is just some fun
I hate the feeling
that you make me feel
I hate the actions
That you make me act.
All the things that I could do
If I only knew what to
All the things that I have done
If I could show them to you
you are driving me so mad
my brain is stuck on low power
you could make me oh so mad
But in my mind, you do no wrong
I hate the way
you make me behave
I hate my mind
it makes me fall for you
I can't get anything done,
all I do is think of you
I can't focus on my life
If I keep twisting this knife
Do you remember when, we went away
for summer holidays-----
When days were long
The sun never gone
behind rain clouds
as it seems today.
And always time in the sun to lay
There were magic rock pools
Nooks and crannies explored
without tools
Became hill forts to fight
off secret foes
We won or lost without serious woes.
Trees those mysteries we explored
in wondering awe
Never quite grasping the geometry
we saw.
It fired our memories and twitched
our mind
but what was it, we were meant to find??
A drop of lonely floats
into a never ending kiss
lost folded notes play
out in a rewind of time
Shifting spells the chorus
foreign answers ring
-- an empty chair
rocking through my mind
Lay down your symphony
where harmony rests a head
pull back the covers slowly
let me listen to what is said
Colour wraps in soulful pace
mellow light dances free
belief waits for the butterfly
as with truth sunsets will be
Moon's heat
tender groans
taste of ecstasy
Love You like
Whispers In The Wind
shining stars in the sky
secret hideaway
