Hearing a Hum

It sounds more like a motor
Than what I would call a hum,
Though a motorbird’s not fitting
As the name that it’s become.

I first heard it at the flowerpot
Before I saw it there,
Dipping in the purple blossoms
Near my green wrought iron chair.

I’m aware that red attracts them,
Like a bull on the attack,
So the visit was surprising
Since true red my flowers lack.

Yet perhaps they can’t be choosy
As they dart and flit and dip
And a bloom that’s pink or purple
Might provide a tasty sip.

All I know is I was happy
That a hummingbird stopped by
And it doesn’t really matter
If there was a reason why.

Premium Member OF HEARING AND LISTENING: A Senryu Quartet

In human nature,
hearing and listening are
not the same thing:-

You can hear said words
but can not respond to them,
if not listening:-

Ancestrally said,
you not listening is bad;
not caring, is worse:-

Being a wise one,
do not just hear what is said;
understand also:-

Premium Member Hearing Voices

I thought I heard your voice last night
A sweet familiar sound
No other human in my sight
Not a single soul around
Up to the window moseyed I
Towards where the voice was heard
I called out loud while drawing nigh,
"Is that you, my Bluebird?"

Just then a slumbering breeze awoke
And rustled through the bough
So quietly to me it spoke
More zephyr-like than sough,
"Yes, it's her, she sitting there
Way up on that moonbeam
She's calling you, go to her now
For this is not a dream"

Then so I did and up I went
To meet you in the sky
And time stood still the while we spent
T'was only you and I
When morning came I realized
A dream indeed this was
But something caused me to sit up
Olfactory sense abuzz

The scent of Baccarat filled the room
And then and there I knew,
Plus a vase of fragrant lilacs,
These could've only come from you
Just then I heard your voice again
This time from far away,
"I've loved you for a thousand years
And I'll wait for someday"

Premium Member tired of hearing swear words

Pretty perky green parrot repeats each word
Owner Pat makes them up, they are absurd
Chickapickylicky slickyconcly curd
Guests give strange looks to the odd-sounding bird
Don’t ask me says Pat I don’t understand a word.

Faith Comes By Hearing The Words Of God

Faith comes from the right source
Faith comes from hearing the Word of God
Faith comes from the wells of life
Faith comes from the bottom of the heart
Faith comes from believing good testimony
Faith comes from a humble prayer
Faith comes from the waiting faithful
Faith comes from persistent heart
Faith comes from child like faith.
Faith comes from great persistent help.

Twisted Senses

I've been listening to your eyes
And tasted ecstasy

I've been glancing at your skin
And smelled zest

I've been feeling your tongue
And heard fragrance

I've been savoring your nose
And saw melody

I've been breathing into your ear
And felt elegance

Premium Member Hearing My Protector

I heard him in the night; thought it was my husband.
He called my name.
I said “what” there was no answer
I nudged my husband “what?” I said, more sternly.
He was snoring so I let him be.
When I settled back down the angel again called my name.
In my ear or in my mind?
I did not know but I heard him.
I felt he was here to protect me.
To remind me that I am never alone.
It gave me a sense of reassurance that God sends his scouts.

Beyond Sound

To hear is natural, to listen is an art.
To hear is instinctive, to listen is a skill.
To hear is automatic, to listen is intentional.
To hear is effortless; to listen demands mindfulness.
To hear is to sense; to listen is to understand.

Hearing happens by chance; listening happens by choice.
Hearing is passive; listening is active.
Hearing is surface-level; listening is profound.
Hearing fills the ears; listening fills the mind.
Hearing catches sounds; listening catches meaning.

Premium Member PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR HEARING OUR CRY

September 21 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Joel 1-3

Key Verse – Joel 1:19 O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR HEARING OUR CRY

Praise be to God for hearing our cry of:
Faith to flourish by His faithfulness
Fervency for His fruitfulness-fulfillment
Flight toward His freedom against futility
Fight against fear by His force midst fatigue
Faults along His forgiveness to flee from frustration

Joel 2:13 Praise be to the Lord being gracious
and merciful, always:
Securing our salvation-settlement
Sanctifying us from selfishness-strife
Sufficing us with His satisfaction-supply
Strengthening us by His Scripture-statutes
Stabilizing us for steadfast service-stewardship

Joel 3:16 Praise be to the Saviour for
He is our hope against:
Catastrophes causing to us crises
Curses clinging to our chastisements
Conflicts contending with our cravings
Clamors creeping against our contentment
Calamities creating our cries for His compassion. Amen!

World of music

Aplace full of wonder

A melody for every mile

A meaningful muse for every mountain top

A once apon atime for every note

The smell of harmony is so sweet

And the breathe of cool fresh air that flows down into the lungs like a sensational feeling that never ends

The buildings are like tall sheets of music that hold the untold stories for both the good and the bad.

The seas are like never ending vibrant symphonies that lock on to the stars and unites to create the perfect timeless tune of peace.

The gradens a place of tangy tunes. That never cease to amaze the taste buds of those who indulge in the flavour of endless summer sounds.

The day time a time of working and living with a song in ones mind and heart.

The night although is a time where the whimsical melody of one's dreams become a reality and every step taken is single note closer to the finale. The greatest hit of all. One's vocal victory!

But then to one's songfull sorrow, a dream it was but a place of harmony it will always be.

"A place, What a place!

A wonderful but sound place,

Every note is an untold story,

A melody for every high and low,

A place, What a place.
