light kindles light
night folds its endless hands—
shadows stretch & scatter
(aching)
for warmth
for a flicker.
a mother whispers prayers, her voice
a cradle—
soft syllables swaying
against the weight of exile’s wind.
one wick, then another—
then eight:
flames lean into each other,
(dizzy with hope)
(drunk with remembering).
oil scarce as breath,
yet its story unfolds:
a temple reclaimed
a heart unbroken.
the menorah blinks its quiet Morse code:
endure.
endure.
endure.
children spin tops—
letters clinking

A Holiday Rainbow
A rainbow
not just Christmas lights,
why not,
menorah light?
An Advent wreath
of billowing candles,
a black harmonic Quanzaa light,
or Ramadan lantern’s haloes white?
Diversity is a rainbow,
colors of the world
impressed upon hearts
of generosity and faith
during the
happiest, blessed
days of the year.
Colors of red, brown,
yellow, white;
mixed hues refracting
joyous spirits.
A generous,
sharing, caring,
feeding, warming,
loving, singing,
ever so warm
and bright
time.
Pastels, chromatics,
bold and intense;
painted upon a

Hanukkah Chanukah
Is it Hanukkah
Or Chanukah
Both are correct
It depends if you use the Latin or Hebrew dialect
Regardless of what you say
The meaning is the same both here and far away
It is an eight day historical event
To commemorate the victory of the Maccabees over a Greco-Syrian monarch that tried to circumvent

Hanukkah
By Gavri Hanita Hazaka Abir Selek 2nd
Charles Gerald Patrick Chard 2nd
The Hanukkah candles remind us of the story,
How one day’s Holy oil stretched into seven days of Glory?
Its story is recorded in the book of Josephus,
This miracle of GOD left to us,
Although the slave candle makes it eight,
There are seven

Hanukkah Star
If I was to hold the hands of a diamond could you tell the sparkle,
I see farther then any foreign land color with culture,
Like a star bridge the galaxy I feel it star power,
To be the mist a among the Hampton a sea among,
The a broad bring in the sail,
Latitude the distance kiss among

Hanukkah, a Jewish Holiday
Hanukkah, A Jewish Holiday
Hanukkah, lighting lights.
Gather near; blessed night.
Give to God all thanks with heads bowed.
Holy Temple protected somehow.
Maccabees prayed to Thee.
Praise God, Macedonia is free.
Rebel troops won the sod.
Thanks to God. Holy God.
Bring the Shamash, and light a light.
Candles glow bright eight days, eight nights.
Father guided the way.
Father guarded our stay.
Holy God.
