Can you hear the pitter patter
Of the rain on my roof?
Can you hear the water splatter,
And the dog that goes 'woof'?
Can you hear that auto go by?
And the bike that zooms through?
Can you hear the thirsty land sigh,
As it laps the rain, dew?
Hearken! The tinkle of a laugh!
The rustle of a leaf,
The quiet mooing of the calf,
The weeping willow's grief;
Can you hear the crunch of the land,
When the lorry crushes?
Hearken to honking horns' bandstand,
As the traffic rushes;
Hearken! A baby crying far!
Music playing nearby!
How wonderful all these sounds are!
How do they gratify!
No, it is not irony, Donald Trump
So, is Donald Trump innocent
In the charges, he had sex with underage girls
Guessing is not good enough
Did he or didn't he?
I think not
He was indeed drawn to the clicks of adolescents
men who believed they were so powerful
They could gratify themselves with young girls
and get away with it
much interest is why in a house, not his, spent
An hour with the woman who committed suicide
She didn't say he had had sex with her
But Trump, who wanted to be a hero among
depraved men, liked to give an impression of doing
So, all I wanted was to sleep a little
We know Trump's life is a story of a fantasy life
In his deluded mind, he may give the impression that
He is a leader of men
He is a pussy cat that gives in to stronger wills
Take the drama of war with Venezuela; he doesn't
want that war except, perhaps, a little shooting
here and there
He wants to cut a deal with Maduro, which makes him
Looks like a winner, basking in glory
and perhaps win a Nobel prize for stopping a war
Donald Trump is not the problem, but the men who
Those who are attracted to his Bombast are lethal
I read a poem to my quilting class,
Which happens over Zoom.
It got a warm reception, so
They liked it, I’d assume.
I wrote it several weeks ago;
The topic: sewing curves,
Which even to a practiced quilter
Oftentimes unnerves.
It’s satisfying seeing
A reaction to my writing,
Since mostly, just my husband’s thoughts
Are those I am inviting.
While written comments gratify,
Like a fellow poet’s note,
A responsive audience can make
My spirits rise and float.
My quilting skills are modest,
Though they have improved with time,
But the talent I’m the proudest of
Is setting thoughts to rhyme.
I will move mountains for you, oft said
with little brain and surplus testosterone.
But why the plurality?
Surely, a single mountain moved
is Herculean enough to satisfy
the desires of the most covetous princess.
Then, what is a mountain?
I’m sure a mound or hill won’t do.
Also, move; would an inch to the left or right
gratify? I think not, dear sir.
So, where to find this mountain?
Bhutan seems a reasonable choice
they have so many, moving one
would likely not be missed.
Where too? The Midwest
could do with a mountain or two
attract more tourists, that sort of thing.
Then the naming:
something American,
that reflects the Native lands,
is gender neutral?
Then, would you and your girlfriend
climb to the top of Mount Sis Hank Running Bear
and both look out over the beautiful land?
No, she will be at home waiting for another man;
the man who said he would make the Earth move for her!
Do not wear pride like a necklace
For God detests pride and arrogance
Pride does not go unpunished
Pride leads to disgrace
Humility is rewarded with wisdom
While pride begets destruction
Cause it takes credit for God’s accomplishments
And covets God’s glory
Pride demeans others
It arrogates sense of Almightiness
To a mere mortal
Pride stifles growth of other virtues
Makes one to reject help needed
Prevents one to listen and help others
And deludes one into believing
In one’s self sufficiency
But in reality Pride is admission of weakness
Pride leads to extreme selfishness
Pride does not gratify
Pride does not exulte
Rather it dehumanizes and belittles
Fortune Cookies
Sing every day and chase the mean blues away
the way I sing, the blues won’t be going too far.
Experience is the best teacher
obviously, I never listened to my teachers.
You will be happy with your spouse
I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may incriminate me.
Eat chocolate to have a sweeter life
and gain about a hundred pounds doing so.
Dance as if no one is watching
I plan to do that as I have two left feet.
Things usually do not happen overnight. It takes time and hard work
well, I guess nothing will ever happen for me.
You will receive money from an unexpected source
unless I have a rich relative I don’t know about, it ain’t gonna happen.
Move in the direction of your dreams
what happens if they turn out to be nightmares?
Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest,
It has been my experience that a good deed never goes unpunished!
Your ability to juggle many tasks will take you far.
Well, I have never could juggle.
When you died
I did not cry
Not a single tear
Fell from my eye
I ask myself every day
I ask him why?
I miss you
And I'm not going to lie
I hope you're in heaven
I hope that you can fly
I didn't say goodbye
I don't think it happened
I will always deny
I hope you get your favorites
I hope you get pie
I hope you're in the sky
I hope you get your retry
Whatever it takes
You'll overcome and defy
All those who made you shy
All those who caused you to sigh
All those who made you a small fry
They're below you while you are up high
Whatever you do, don't comply
Don't try to satisfy
Don't try to gratify
Don't try to simplify
Be yourself
Someone will help you untie
All that has made you feel wry
Well, that's all I got
I'll visit when the snow melts in July
Wisdom From the Throne
Here I sit all alone,
when a thought all my own,
strikes me with such surprise,
bringing tears to my eyes.
Poetry is the one occupation where the only way to the top is to
orally gratify people.

Earth.
When winter tires of being cold
Of icy fingers and chattering teeth
And spring can no longer sprout,
Green shoots and buds of promise
Summer will intervene with balmy-
Days, and red sunsets on flat horizons
Until autumn browns leaves, lays
Branches naked, makes muddy trails.
Mankind will look back in shame.
No longer needed, a parasite vanquished.
Bloody hands drip with the last drop
Through eyes seeing nothing but profit, seeking,
Nothing but short-term gain and
Wreaking nothing, but vengeance and empire.
Killing innocence and promoting self.
whose only aim was to gratify number one.
After all is past, the earth will repair,
Regenerate, to its true magnificence.
Live in peace and harmony, content.
Nothing to gain, and nothing to lose.
If man receives a reprieve, second chance,
The essential lessons must be learnt.
Because humanity needs its earth, but
the earth is paradise without humanity.

My doxology moves up the roof
Hastens highly, and highly with its proof
As the crop of the counting days
One by one in all ways
I don't want to be an ingrate
Just like that of bandit
So, I gratify the Lord
For making the plan fulfilled
Credits to mummy
For her restless efforts all through the journey
She is busy playing the roles of two
When careless of others accrue
My teachers were not out
They built in me the engine of thought
The daily lecturer counted as stress
Has given me the world to dress.
My companions were the best
It is wow to be one of the set
The loves, the cares, the trust
They gave me confidence that could not be bought.
I sincerely appreciate dept. lovers
You trusted me, even when I didn't to myself
It is my joy to know you all
And, I promise to be with u forever
The Believer's Family
I came as a stranger
But I was accepted as a member
Forever is your love in my heart
Hmmm...
I will never forget the momeries
That I got from Amos Jac
So proud of the generation I am.
Right now,
I am as happy as a pig in the mud
Because of the land mark I reached
Lord I say My doxology is to you

In this life's journey, where paths intertwine,
We find solace and joy in friends so divine.
Through laughter and tears, they lift our spirits high.
Above mere companions, their love makes us fly.
As the air we breathe, friends are the breath of life.
With each beat of our hearts, they ease the strife.
In their presence, we find solace and peace.
Their love and support will never cease.
They gratify our souls with their gentle ways.
Guiding us through life's maze.
Their words of solace, are precious advice,
Nurture us navigate through the lows and highs.
In times of darkness, they bestow light.
With their friendship, everything feels right.
Roaring thunder booms
Inky shadow looms
Soft rain
Angry lightning fumes
Smoky vapour plumes
Wet lane
Heaven's water wombs
Harsh downpour assumes
Throb strain
Pit a pat refrain
I hear the campaign
Of sky
Pounding on my pane
Drenching dry terrain
Clouds cry
Nature's water reign
Petrichor again
Pleased sigh
Refreshing supply
Sure does gratify
Clears glooms
Raindrops moisten my
Earth and purify
Her rooms
Showers signify
Blessings poured from high
Hope blooms
Poisoned rivers,
Fishless streams,
Is this really the fruition?
Of all our dreams?
They drill in our oceans,
Just for our locomotion,
To enable the money grabbers,
To gratify their own needs.
They cut down our forests,
And say it’s for all of us,
Leaving our children without any leaves,
Is it possible since our birth?
We’ve been wiping the smile,
From the face of the earth?
What is the secret to the good life?
Filled with things that most satisfy
Free of unnecessary worry and strife
And replete with things that gratify
I’m not sure I have a single answer
That would fit everyone’s situations
But I highly recommend adventure,
Enhanced by taking good vacations!
Nothing so elevates one’s life stations
[Increasing understanding of a culture]
Like visiting a faraway exotic nation
Watching the gyrations of a dancer
Can help the inquiring mind to ratify
The inestimable value of individual life
For the muddled, biased mind, to clarify
What the secret is to the good life.

[Verso-Rhyme]
I am a poet and thinker in concept
I admire the form and content
but poet without poetry
it seems to me heresy
I feed on the context
to make rich rhymes equally
but just rhyming doesn't satisfy
if the intellect does not gratify
so the poem Will be only beau geste
is not a true thing for a poet !
